Diego Suarez Chialvo is a Producer, executive and entrepreneur with a wide-ranging experience at Hollywood Studios, international TV networks, production companies, and a proven track record developing premium content for film and television across different cultures, capitalizing on strategic business opportunities in emerging markets.
As Senior Vice President of International Film and TV Production at Sony Pictures he oversaw a slate of over 200 local language TV series and feature films per year among key territories in Latin America and Western Europe. Features films released so far include El Jeremías (Mexico); the Spanish El Bar directed by Alex de la Iglesia, Veronica directed by award winning filmmaker Paco Plaza; El Pacto by David Victori starring Belén Rueda; and La Quietud an Argentine drama by Pablo Trapero staring Bérénice Bejo and Edgar Ramirez.
Prior to joining Sony Pictures, Diego was Senior Vice President, Creative Affairs at Fox21 Television Studios, focusing on cable programming development with a strong international angle. Projects Suarez brought in to the studio include Persons Unknown (NBC), Mental (Fox), The Queen Of The South (based on the Spanish bestseller) (USA Network); and Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown, based on the 1988 hit film from Pedro Almodovar.
He served as Vice President, Head of Production and Managing Director for Fox Factory Europe at Fox International Channels, Italy, where he was responsible for the development and production of scripted shows for the Italian market, including Boris; Racconti Neri di Giancarlo Giannini (Black Tales by Giancarlo Giannini); Le Chiavi del Mistero di Carlo Lucarelli (Carlo Lucarelli Presents); and the adaptation of the international scripted show Killer Women (Donne Assassine).
Previously, Suarez was Head of Programming for Boca Producciones in Spain, and Executive Producer at Cuatrocabezas in Argentina, Spain and Portugal
