Channel 4 Takes Celebrity Prank Format ‘Tapped Out’ From YouTube To Linear
Image
Exclusive: Channel 4 is piloting a celebrity prank show on linear that emerged via its YouTube channel.

Tapped Out Prank Stars is a supercharged version of the format that originated on Channel 4.0, with rapper ArrDee, comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri and Jls singer Aston Merrygold set to take on extreme challenges watched by a studio audience.

The move marks the first time a Channel 4 YouTube format has transferred to linear and the pilot will likely air around Christmas.

In Tapped Out, which is hosted by Nella Rose and has featured the likes of Love Island star Chloe Burrows, celebs are pushed to their limits with tricky prank challenges that feature chaotic twists. The longer they can last before deciding to “Tap Out,” the better they do, as the celeb competitor who endures the most time in the increasingly embarrassing tasks thrown at them will be crowned champion. The loser will face one final forfeit.

Stephen Fry Condemns Antisemitism in Channel 4 Christmas Message, Encourages People to Call Out ‘Venomous Slurs and Hateful Abuse’
Image
Stephen Fry is set to deliver a deeply person Alternative Christmas Message for U.K. broadcaster Channel 4, in which he will address the rising tide of antisemitism across the world.

Calling for solidarity, Fry, who is an atheist and a humanist, urges the audience to call out antisemitism as they would any other form of racism: “Standing upright means speaking up and calling out venomous slurs and hateful abuse wherever you encounter them.”

“There is real fear stalking the Jewish neighbourhoods of Britain,” he continues. “Jewish people here are becoming fearful of showing themselves. In Britain, in 2023. Can you imagine, Jews afraid to be themselves in the open for fear of reprisal?”

Fry opens the message, which will air shortly after King Charles III’s annual Christmas speech on the BBC, by publicly proclaiming his own Jewishness, a fact he says many people don’t realize. “Indeed sometimes people...

‘Prince Andrew: The Musical’ TV Special Sets Cast Including Harry Enfield, Munya Chawawa
Image
As if Prince Andrew wasn’t already disgraced enough, a musical TV special is set to satirize the embattled British royal still further.

Featuring Harry Enfield, one of Britain’s best-known impressionists, “Prince Andrew: The Musical” will focus “on the key events, relationships and controversies of Andrew’s life, including a reimagining of the former-hrh’s bombshell interview with Emily Maitlis,” according to the logline.

Andrew’s disastrous 2019 interview with then “Newsnight” anchor Maitlis was widely mocked and condemned and proved to be the catalyst in Andrew’s banishment from public life.

The musical was written by Kieran Hodgson, who will also play Andrew.

“Kevin & Perry Go Large” star Enfield has been cast as former Prime Minister Tony Blair while Emily Maitlis will be played by “Starstruck’s” Emma Sidi.

Joining them are Munya Chawawa (“Taskmaster”) as Prince Charles, Jenny Bede (“Catastrophe”) as Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson (nicknamed Fergie...
