To celebrate 10 years of Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the original Broadway cast returned to the room where it happened at the Tony Awards on Sunday night.

At the same time, the show hasn't fully answered one of its biggest mysteries, which has to do with the new kind of night creatures created by Abbott Emmanuel (Richard Dormer).

In the original "Castlevania" series, night creatures are created by devil forgemasters, human sorcerers who use a specific breed of dark magic to channel souls from hell into dead bodies, transforming them into monstrous creatures. These forgemasters each channel their spells through a specific, unique tool, and the monsters they create are loyal to them. In most cases, the souls channeled into the night creatures don't seem to be the same ones that the bodies housed in life, but there are some apparent exceptions to that rule. In general, though, night creatures are shown to be pretty mindless.

The first season of Castlevania: Nocturne only arrived a week ago, and Netflix has already asked for more. The streaming service has renewed the video game adaptation for a second season. This new series is a standalone sequel set 300 years after the original Castlevania TV show and was created by Clive Bradley.

Well, that didn’t take long. Just one week after Castlevania: Nocturne premiered on Netflix, the animated series has been renewed for a second season, TVLine has learned.

“Thanks to all of the Castlevania fans old and new for the amazing response and support!” creator/showrunner/writer Clive Bradley and showrunner Kevin Kolde said in a joint statement on Friday. “We are excited to be able to bring you more Castlevania: Nocturne and the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont.”

“Castlevania: Nocturne” has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix.

The news comes just over a week since the debut of the show’s first season, which launched on Netflix on Sept. 28.

When Netflix’s Castlevania animated series first released in 2017, it was nothing short of a miracle: at last fans had a video game adaptation that was not only worthy of its beloved source material but was also a hell of a lot of fun to watch in its own right, especially in its early, Dracula-focused seasons. Netflix’s Castlevania animated series helped break barriers for not only its medium, but also the longstanding stigma that video game adaptations were doomed to fail. Castlevania gracefully bowed out after telling a complete story over the course of four seasons. However, it was revealed that the franchise would continue, albeit with new Castlevania series within the same universe, almost in a style that’s akin to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Castlevania: Nocturne is the first of these new Castlevania series and it follows Richter Belmont, Maria Renard, and a team of intrepid monster hunters in an apocalyptic struggle that’s set against the French Revolution. Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Channel has partnered with Paul Fusco, the creator of the hit ’80s sitcom “Alf,” to create new content starring the wisecracking alien. The show, which aired from 1986 to 1990, starred the titular character Alf, or “Alien Life Form,” as he lives with a human family in suburbia.

Maximum Effort and Fusco have revived Alf, along with Shout! Studios, to premiere new sponsor-driven content premiering Saturday, July 29. The filmed version of “Hamilton” will premiere July 3, 2020 on Disney+, creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and Disney boss Bob Iger said Tuesday on “Gma.”

That is way earlier than the initial plan called for: “Hamilton” was slated to hit theaters on Oct. 15, 2021, and then land on Disney+ sometime later.

The version subscribers will see was filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre over the course of three days in June 2016. That means Miranda and the original principal players will be seen in their starring roles.

Disney is bringing a filmed version of the original Broadway play to movie theaters across the country next fall. It's interesting that this announcement comes after another long-running Broadway musical just flopped at the box office. Cats was a disaster, arriving in theaters this past December. It was an adaptation that utilized CGI to bring its cast of cat characters to life, and it has been heavily ridiculed ever since, with some going as far as to call it a nightmare. Hamilton will not be falling into the same trap.
