Amazon miniTV is bringing back this budding story of teen adolescence, ‘Gutar Gu’ for its second season, directed by Saqib Pandor and produced by Sikhya Entertainment. Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga said that love stories are always liked by the audience, and with time, their presentation on-screen has evolved and changed. She was talking in the context of her latest web series ‘Gutur Gu’, which is all about teenage love and the issues, and challenges that can affect their relationship.

It features ‘The Family Man’ fame Ashlesha Thakur and Vishesh Bansal from ‘Yeh Meri Family’. After casting Ashlesha and Vishesh in the short film, ‘Gupt Gyan’, she collaborated with director Saqib Pandor for this web series with the same cast.

While talking about love stories and their popularity on the digital platform, she said that irrespective of the medium, romance as a genre still interests the makers.

Guneet said: “I don’t think that the Hindi film industry has stopped making romantic stories, but rather, there has been an evolution of love stories on screen.”

Amazon miniTV, a free-of-charge service within the Amazon shopping app and on Fire TV, will next month begin airing short-form teen romance series “Gutar Gu.” The show is produced by Guneet Monga and Sikhya Productions, whose “The Elephant Whisperers” recently won the Oscar for best documentary short.

Last night at the closing night of the The Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival the final tally of awards throughout the festival came to four gongs. Recipients included acclaimed Indian actress Sharmila Tagore (Apur Sansar -1959), Days and Nights in The Forest – 1970), director Shekhar Kapur (Mr India – 1987), Bandit Queen – 1994) & the Oscar winning Elizabeth films, and also winners of this year’s Satyajit Ray short film award and Liff Audience Award for best film.

Even before the film released, there were a lot of controversies surrounding Bombay Velvet. And now, post release, there seems to be no end to people talking about the film. The director of the film, Anurag Kashyap, got onto a social networking site and said that it's time to move on.

His post read, "Its time to close the book and move on. its been a journey, as if one life is over with Bombay Velvet. a lot of people do not connect with it and a small number of people did. Maybe when the shock of the narrative wears down , you will revisit it in the calm of your homes and will get into it. Maybe our experimenting with the narrative didn't work for most but i firmly believe in the film. This is the film i wanted to make and i am glad i got to make it.
