University of North Carolina’s football staff, including general manager Mike Lombardi, is “deeply concerned” about Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, 24, being anywhere near the athletic program.
On Bill Simmons’ podcast, journalist Pablo Torre provided a brief overview of how Unc is handling the couple’s relationship and the accompanying media attention. Torre stated, “What if I told you… staff, including Mike Lombardi, [are] deeply concerned about Jordan Hudson and her presence in the building?”
Torre claimed that Hudson attended a Patriots game and sat in Belichick’s seats at Gillette Stadium in November 2021, the same year that the couple met on a plane from New York to Palm Beach in February.
Hudson was banned from the Unc athletics facility, according to Torre, following Belichick’s controversial CBS Sunday Morning interview, which aired on April 27 and showed Hudson stopping him from answering a question about how the couple met.

When Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson went public with their relationship, most observers assumed that this was just another case of a wealthy older man enjoying the attention of a much younger woman.
But when Belichick’s CBS Sunday Morning interview aired last month, many raised concerns about the possibility that the former Patriots coach was being exploited.
Hudson interrupted the interview and seemed to have a list of topics that Belichick wasn’t permitted to discuss.

“We’re not talking about that,” Hudson snapped, when Belichick was asked a straightforward question about how they’d first met.

“Mike Schur, who wrote for SNL and The Office before creating Parks and Rec and many other TV shows, told me something eye-opening,” Pablo Torre said this week on his Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast. “Mike told me that out of all of the SNL auditions he has ever seen — all of which happen to occur in front of the show’s creator Lorne Michaels — nobody has ever made him laugh harder than Will Forte.”
Forte almost avoided the audition altogether, the comic revealed this week on Torre’s show. He was a writer on That ‘70s Show, which had just been picked up for two more seasons. Forte had never enjoyed that kind of job security — plus, he was terrified to try out for SNL. But Michaels talked him into auditioning, with the support of his sitcom bosses.
Much of the material in Forte’s try-out eventually made it into SNL sketches.

The University of North Carolina is addressing the recent reports about Bill Belichick‘s girlfriend.
On Friday morning (May 9), ESPN’s Pablo Torre shared on his podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out that two sources have told him that 73-year-old Unc-Chapel Hill football coach’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson is no longer allowed inside the football building or on the football field at the university, claiming that the “higher-ups” made the decision last week.
“Don’t think you’ll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward,” one source reportedly told the ESPN broadcaster following Bill‘s awkward with Sunday Morning during which Jordon, 24, interjected when the football coach was asked about their relationship.

It is now eight years since Hank Azaria stepped away from voicing his controversial The Simpsons character of Apu, but the conversation around why he stopped playing the character – and why he almost didn’t – continues to be a fascinating insight into the way racism is viewed and handled in the entertainment industry and by the public. Speaking on the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast, the incredible actor, who continues to voice many characters on The Simpsons, explained that there are still people who don’t understand why he cannot voice Apu.
On the surface, there is a strange contradiction around depictions of race, gender, sexuality and pretty much anything that isn’t straight and white in the world. White actors cannot provide voices for Black, Asian, or Indian characters, but they can “put on” voices that mimic European accents without any push back. Straight actors playing queer roles are...

Hank Azaria performed the voice of Apu, the Indian Kwik-e-Mart manager on The Simpsons, since the show started. But then a wider discussion started to take place about whether it was appropriate for white actors to voice characters of color.
This cumulated in a 2017 documentary, The Problem With Apu, by Indian comedian Hari Kondabolu. Kondabolu believed the portrayal of Apu was racist against South Asians and a lightning rod for bullying. Though The Simpsons pushed back against the accusation, going so far as to release an episode where the characters comment on how past works can be seen as "politically incorrect," Azaria announced in 2020 that he would not be playing Apu anymore.
Now, he's spoken about that decision on an episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out. It's been a long and interesting journey for Azaria, and one where he's explored how things previously seen as innocuous can become offensive later on.

Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith just landed a lucrative contract to continue his television duties at ESPN, so it should come as no surprise that he has no interest in running for President of the United States.
At a broadcast industry trade show in Las Vegas on Monday, Smith said he would not rule out the possibility of a presidential bid in the future, but noted it would take a fair amount of persuasion because his interest in running for office is practically non-existent.
“I have no desire to do it; I’m living a pretty good life right now. Life’s been good,” Smith said at the Nab Show on Monday. “The last thing that I would want to do is involve myself in politics. I’ve always perceived politicians as being professional beggars. I don’t...

Ezra Edelman blasted Netflix's cancellation of his nine-hour Prince documentary as a "joke" on Pablo Torre Finds Out, blaming estate interference. The O.J.: Made in America director revealed Netflix initially allowed estate input for accuracy but later received a “17-page document full of editorial issues.” Edelman argued his film showcased Prince’s genius and humanity, unlike Netflix’s upcoming estate-approved project.

Award-winning filmmaker Ezra Edelman is speaking out against Netflix's decision to scrap his nine-hour project about Prince. The would-be six-part docuseries, titled The Book of Prince, which explored the life of the late musician, was shelved by the streamer following legal action and objections from Prince's estate. As is expected, this isn't sitting well with Edelman, who called the decision a joke.
News that Netflix would not move forward with Edelman's doc surfaced in February, when the streamer announced it would allow the estate to produce their own project instead. The apparent problem with Edelman's series? It includes emotional and physical abuse allegations against Prince. During an appearance on the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast, Edelman expressed his frustrations:
"It's a joke. This is the thing I just find galling. Like, I can't get past this — like, the short-sightedness of a group of people whose interest is their own bottom line.

Ezra Edelman offers his version of events following the scrapping of his Prince documentary for Netflix, arguing people are being served “slop.”
Last month we covered the story regarding Netflix’s scrapping of a nine-hour documentary film charting the life and career of Prince, the pop icon who passed away in 2016 at the age of 57.
Award-winning documentarian Ezra Edelman had worked on a Prince film for Netflix which the musician’s estate seemingly objected to. Ultimately, Edelman saw his film scrapped as Netflix announced that it would instead be commissioning a new documentary – presumably with a more sanitised take on the singer’s life which will gain the approval of his estate.
Edelman didn’t comment last month when news of the film’s cancellation surfaced, but he has spoken out since, calling the decision “a joke” on Pablo Torre Finds Out. Offering his version of events, Edelman claims that...

Last month, Netflix shelved a nine-part Prince documentary directed by Ezra Edelman in favor of a new, estate-approved project. Now, Edelman has gone on the podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out to blast the streaming giant and Prince’s estate for their “short-sightedness” and being “afraid” to show his flaws.
“It’s a joke… I can’t get past this — the short-sightedness of a group of people whose interest is their own bottom line,” Edelman told Torre. “They’re afraid of his humanity.”
He also said that Prince’s team sent a list of editorial changes rather than checking the film for historical accuracy. “You think I have any interest in putting out a film that is factually inaccurate?” he said, while noting the actions were similar to Prince’s own reputation as a control freak.

Ezra Edelman did not mince words when asked for his perspective on his Prince documentary being scrapped at Netflix.
While on the “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast in an episode that aired Tuesday, the Oscar-winning “O.J.: Made in America” director said Netflix and Prince’s estate thinking his nine-hour, six-part docuseries would harm the artist’s legacy is “a joke.”
“Here’s the one thing they were allowed to do – check for factual inaccuracies,” Edelman said. “Guess what? They came back with a 17-page document full of editorial issues, not factual issues. “You think I have any interest in putting out a film that is factually inaccurate?”
Edelman was quick to point out that Prince championed artistic freedom and now a documentary about his life is being blocked for its maker’s own creative decisions.

What does MSNBC do now? After Trump accomplished the Undead thing and retook the White House? After Comcast announced plans to spin off the network (along with others) in such haste that its new company was named “SpinCo”? After Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski went on their show and welcomed our new insect overlords? After its audience vanished?
Nothing.
Stay the course. The audience is exhausted and needs a break. It’ll be back — and Resistier than ever. Suffer the ratings trough. I mean, obviously you have to fire Mr. and Mrs. Scared-Bro. However: Continue their banal but largely benign political coffee klatch show without them and their insistence we all join their MSNVichy. Nobody will remember they were ever there.
Plus, the next money is coming from more fervent opposition to Maga, not less. Wasn’t the Scarborough disaster (41% of the demo audience gone in three days) instructive enough?...

Apart from Gandolfini, who passed away in 2013, The Sopranos cast also included Edie Falco as Tony's wife Carmela, Jamie-Lynn Sigler as their daughter Meadow, and Robert Iler as their son A.J.

During the Knicks’ courtship of LeBron James in 2010, James Gandolfini and Edie Falco made a video as their The Sopranos characters to woo King James into joining the New York basketball team. The clip, which was part of a larger private promotional package from the Knicks to LeBron, was shot 14 years ago, and now it has finally been unearthed.
The Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast, led by former ESPN host Pablo Torre, unearthed clips from the promotional package that include Gandolfini’s reprisal of his much-beloved role as Tony Soprano. The clip opens with The Sopranos’ title card, followed by the caption “Two Years Later (Somewhere In New York)”. According to producer Rocco Caruso, who was hired to create the video for the Knicks, the footage was shot in Gandolfini’s New York apartment. The footage can be seen in the video below.

James Gandolfini’s The Sopranos is often regarded as among the best TV shows ever made. The show chronicling the life and criminal career of Tony Soprano enthralled fans with its first few seasons. For six seasons, they were stuck to their TV every week waiting for new episodes to air. Gandolfini’s influential career-defining performance as Tony Soprano won him multiple Emmys.

Despite the high reputation of the series, the series finale that featured the infamous cut-to-black sequence at the end divided fans. Additionally, Edie Falco who played Carmela Soprano teased that she and Gandolfini shot a Soprano-themed ad to help lure LeBron James to join the New York Knicks. The long-rumored footage has now made its way online and it is interesting, to say the least.

The Sopranos had one of the most talked-about endings of all time when the series finale ended mid-scene and fans would form closure through their own theories. The show would go down as one of HBO’s best originals, and while the Emmy-winning series officially came to a close in 2007, it was revealed that there was lost footage of James Gandolfini and Edie Falco reprising their roles as Tony and Carmela Soprano as the couple would try to convince LeBron James to come to the New York Knicks in 2010. The existence of the private video was revealed a few years ago in the docu-series podcast Shattered: Hope, Heartbreak and the New York Knicks.

Michael Imperioli gained immense stardom after starring as Christopher Moltisanti in The Sopranos. He played the immature cousin and protégé to James Gandolfini’s lead Tony Soprano in the series and gained a massive fan following. Surprisingly, Imperioli was almost fired from the show after he hid a vital piece of information in his audition and caused an accident on set.

Besides being the hot-headed cousin to Tony Soprano, Moltisanti also occasionally acted as the driver to him. However, Michael Imperioli did not reveal at first that he could not drive and crashed a car with him and James Gandolfini inside. While Imperioli was sure he was going to get fired from the show, Gandolfini responded with a surprising response.

“The Sopranos” fans got thrown a curveball in 2021 when Edie Falco revealed for the first time on an Atlantic podcast that she once reunited with James Gandolfini to reprise Tony and Carmela Soprano for a bizarre clip set two years after the events of the series finale, which infamously ended with a cut-to-black that left Tony’s fate in the balance. The purpose of the clip was to help the New York Knicks basketball organization lure LeBron James to the team.
Gandolfini and Falco shot the “Sopranos” reunion in 2010 as James was becoming a free agent after his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers expired. All of the top teams in the NBA wanted James, and the Knicks came up with the idea to make a short film with “The Sopranos” stars to help sell James on the Big Apple. A long-rumored video of James Gandolfini reprising his Emmy-winning role of Tony Soprano has been unearthed.
The footage (below) has Gandolfini and his co-star Edie Falco back in their roles as The Sopranos power couple Tony and Carmela.
The clip was privately produced in 2010 — three years after the HBO drama’s finale — in an effort to lure LeBron James to the New York Knicks.
The scene takes place “Two Years Later,” following the end of the show. “Yeah, life’s good here Carm, even if we are in the witness protection program,” Tony says to his wife. Then, they discussed the possibility of James moving to New York and finding him the perfect home: Madison Square Garden. The video was obtained by former ESPN host Pablo Torre and aired on his Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast. The scene starts at the 9:30-minute mark.

There’s a disturbance in the force as Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian project is charting a new course. According to Glover’s brother and Atlanta EP, Stephen Glover, Lando is pivoting from a Disney+ series to a feature film. Deadline confirmed the information, giving Star Wars fans something to look forward to after the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are resolved.
“It’s not even a show,” Glover said. “The idea right now is to do a movie,” he added. “Right now, because of the strike, it’s like a game of telephone.”
Glover’s young Lando Calrissian debuted in Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. Unfortunately, the film arrived more curdled than a warm jar of blue Bantha milk at the box office with a $392.9M worldwide total. Despite the film’s failure, Calrissian remains a fan-favorite character, especially after Billy Dee Williams reprised the iconic role in multiple Star Wars projects.

Creator Stephen Glover suggests that the Lando project for Disney+ may now be a movie instead of a TV show, which could be a more logical approach. Donald Glover's Lando deserves a movie instead of a TV show, as many Disney+ Star Wars shows centered on preexisting characters have been mediocre in quality. Unlike shows that stretch out the story, a movie format would allow the filmmakers to focus the budget and make Lando's story as efficient as possible.
Although Lando was previously announced as a Star Wars TV show for Disney+, a new update suggests the project is back on as a movie. This information is courtesy of Stephen Glover, creator and writer of Lando and brother of Donald Glover, the actor who portrayed Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian is not returning in a new Star Wars series, rather in a theatrical feature film. Deadline has confirmed with insiders that the project is pivoting from a Disney+ series to the big screen.

Madrid, May 24 (Ians) Real Sociedad edged closer to Champions League qualification with a 1-0 victory at home against Almeria.
Takefusa Kubo netted the game’s only goal during the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time, striking a brilliant shot into the top corner of the net, reports Xinhua.
Almeria was reduced to 10 men just 10 minutes later following a harsh challenge from Luis Suarez on Robin Le Normand. Despite not managing to equalize in the second half, their resilience suggested that they might yet avoid relegation.
Celta Vigo and Girona settled for a 1-1 draw, a result that likely assures Celta’s La Liga survival. Carles Perez put the home team ahead just four minutes before halftime.
Cristhian Stuani equalized with a twice-taken penalty in the 58th minute, and both goalkeepers made excellent saves in the closing moments, resulting in a split of points.

Madrid (Spain), Nov 12 (Ians) Fc Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez is going to have to use his imagination to carry out training sessions during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
A club record 16 Barcelona players have been called up by their respective countries for the World Cup, three more than the 13 who went to Russia in 2018.
That leaves Xavi with just seven first-team regulars in Barcelona, bearing in mind that Gerard Pique has also announced his retirement from the game.
Those players have been given holidays until December 5, but of the seven Sergi Roberto and Franck Kessie are injured, meaning that in theory, Xavi will have to work with reserve goalkeeper, Inaki Pena, defenders Hector Bellerin, Marcos Alonso and Alejandro Balde, while youngster Pablo Torre plays games with Barca’s B-team.

Former ESPN chief John Skipper and Dan Le Batard, the former host of ESPN network’s “Highly Questionable,” are teaming up to launch a new sports-focused content company.
Skipper, who resigned from ESPN in 2017, would remain in his current position as executive chair of Dazn Group but shift focus to daily oversight of the new company, according to the Miami Herald, which suggested that Kevin Mayer, a former high-ranking Disney exec who now is an adviser to Dazn parent company Access Industries, might take over his responsibilities at Dazn.
According to Sports Business Journal, Skipper and Le Batard’s are looking to sell Le Batard’s new podcast, which he launched after his recent ESPN exit, and hire a staff to create sports-focused editorial content for their company, with the expectation that the scope of content could branch out into other topics besides sports.
