Manning hasn't been seen since season 8, but the character, and the actress who plays her, Torrey DeVitto will always be a part of the Chicago Med family. A family that just got bigger, given that the actress has welcomed her first child.

Torrey DeVitto became a mom in November

Torrey DeVitto confirmed that she had become a mother on December 22. The actress posted a photo of her child with husband Jared Lapine on her Instagram account with a heartfelt message for fans. The post was intended to be a commemoration of Lapine's birthday, but fans were more taken with the fact that DeVitto and Lapine shared a photo of their child.

The 40-year-old Chicago Med actress, who played Dr. Natalie Manning on the NBC medical drama from 2015 to 2021, welcomed her first child with husband Jared Lapine.

“Happy birthday to my husband, the man who makes all my dreams come true daily. The greatest accomplishment I’ve ever achieved was giving our daughter an incredible dad like you. We love you so much!

Actress Torrey DeVitto is a mom! The Chicago Med alum quietly welcomed her first baby with her husband Jared Lapine late last month. The news was revealed in a post shared by her husband back in November.

In her latest Instagram post, the One Tree Hill alum shared a black and white photo of her husband holding their newborn. The post was to honor the actress’s husband for his birthday. Over on Jared’s profile, a post from November revealed details about the couple’s newborn. The couple welcomed their first baby, a daughter, on November 21st. They chose to name her Lyle–Josephine Alina Lapine. Torrey commented on her husband’s post, “Already the best dad there ever was !”

Torrey DeVitto had zero hesitations about her decision to not return to The Vampire Diaries following her divorce from Paul Wesley.

The Pretty Little Liars alum, who played Dr. Meredith Fell in seasons 3 and 4 of the hit supernatural drama, was married to Wesley, who starred as Stefan Salvatore, from 2011 to 2013. However, DeVitto shared on a recent episode of Rachel Bilson’s Broad Ideas podcast that she went through a “really dark time” post-split.

“It was [public],” she explained. “It was the first time I did something like that. Because he was on a really big show that was really popular, so it did draw [attention].”

As a result, DeVitto admitted that she had no interest in continuing to work on The Vampire Diaries with Wesley following their divorce.
