Kyla Pratt will join the cast of Fox’s “Animal Control” as a recurring guest star in the sitcom’s upcoming fourth season. Pratt will play the role of Daisy, a new member of the Seattle Animal Control squad who serves as Templeton Dudge’s (Gerry Dee) partner.
Pratt’s Daisy is set to appear in eight episodes of the upcoming season, including the season premiere, which is expected later this year on Fox.
Fox described Pratt’s “Animal Control” character as “exuberant and fearless” and “a confident single mom with a healthy appreciation for conspiracy theories,” suggesting a mix of eccentricity and wholesomeness that will likely fit right in with the show’s already-wacky character cast.
“Animal Control” stars Joel McHale as part of a group of local Animal Control workers “whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.” The show also stars Michael Rowland,...

Animal Control’s opening-credits cast started their panel at the Atx TV Festival today by running through the aisles of seated attendees cheering and high-fiving. They have good reason to be in a celebratory mood: As several of them said during the course of their conversation (moderated by TV Guide magazine’s Damian Holbrook), no one starring on a sitcom these days counts on getting to a second season, never mind the fourth they’ll all start shooting in a few months. And for them all to get to work together on what they told us was a friendly, welcoming, supportive set — a set that they claim doesn’t even smell too bad, considering all the animal actors who visit as guest stars! — sounds like a real gift.
The moderated portion of the conversation took us through the moment New Zealander Grace Palmer (who plays Victoria) found out which nation...

Frank will be back on the job for the 2025-26 TV season. Fox has renewed Animal Control for a fourth year. The sitcom's third season of 10 episodes finished airing in March.
A single-camera workplace comedy series, the Animal Control TV show stars Joel McHale, Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, and Grace Palmer. In the story, Frank Shaw (McHale) is an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer. A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals, while humans are more of a mystery. Frank’s partner, Fred “Shred” Taylor (Rowland), is an optimistic rookie. They both report to Emily Price (Lovell), their sweet-natured and endearingly awkward boss. Amit Patel (Patel) and Victoria Sands (Palmer) are...

Two shows have been guaranteed to continue on Fox while another wasn't so lucky. Unfortunately for the latter, it's going to be a one-season run.
Per Deadline, Rescue Hi-Surf has been canceled after one season. The show, which follows Hawaiian lifeguards, wrapped up its first season on March 31. As the show was not a breakout success on the level of Doc, which was renewed for a 22-episode second season, the decision was made not to move forward with a second season.
It's an unfortunate update for fans of the show, especially as it debuted strong with a premiere that pulled in 4.7 million Live+Same Day viewers. According to the new report, there had still been consideration to renew the series, in part due to the involvement of producer John Wells. The producer's previous work includes titles like ER, The West Wing, and The Pitt. However, the series was also expensive...

Seattle's favorite Animal Control office won't be shutting down just yet. As expected, Fox has picked up its flagship live-action workplace comedy series starring Joel McHale for a fourth season, meaning more animal-based antics are to be had with Frank Shaw and his rag-tag team of fellow officers. The series has continued to be a hit both critically and in terms of ratings for the network, being sold to over 70 international territories and more than doubling its live + same-day ratings thanks to streaming on Hulu. It'll be back in time for the 2025-26 season, locking up Fox's comedy slate with the also-renewed Going Dutch.
Through three seasons, Animal Control has followed the jaded and cynical Frank (McHale) as he learns to embrace life as an animal control officer after being fired from the police force for trying to expose corruption in the department. Fortunately, he is almost supernaturally capable of understanding animals.

Around this time last year, America caught a raging case of Challengers fever. The film, from Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino, portrays a trio of aspiring pro tennis players — pals Patrick (Josh O’Connor) and Art (Mike Faist) and Tashi (Zendaya) — jumping around in time from their frisky late teens to their resigned thirties with several stops in between. To reduce a gripping thriller to a gross oversimplification: everyone is in love with everyone else, and the sexy possibilities made it a meme overnight. What those memes acknowledged was what the movie boldly states: any love triangle is less interesting than three hot characters just getting it on together.
Since Fox’s Thursday night comedies premiered their latest seasons back in January — Season Three for Animal Control, and Season One for Going Dutch — both have seemed like they learned the lessons of Challengers. But did they really? These...

If you’ve been following Animal Control, you know the wildly hilarious Fox sitcom is not just about wrangling animals. With the beloved series led by Joel McHale returning for its highly-anticipated third season, the workplace comedy is every bit about untangling the messy lives of the humans behind the scenes as much as it is about the animals they help. Ahead of the new season premiering Thursday night on Fox, McHale — alongside his co-stars, Vella Lovell and Grace Palmer – spoke exclusively to Collider about all the shenanigans their characters get into across this year’s 10 episodes and the plethora of guest stars that have them excited, including the return of Ken Jeong as the reputable, but unhinged dog trainer, Roman Park.
