What’s Good: Mammootty’s various looks throughout the film is impressive, except for the final one. The fight sequences are well-executed, and though a few feel unnecessary to the core plot, they’re still enjoyable to watch.

What’s Bad: The film suffers from a weak script. At times, it’s unclear how certain events unfold. The storyline feels stretched, with unnecessary subplots that add little value.

Loo Break: You could take a short break during the second robbery sequence. It lacks the visual appeal of the first and feels like it was added just to boost the robbery count. It seems the makers didn’t put much effort into making it stand out.

Chennai, June 27 (Ians) Tollywood star Nikhil Siddhartha, after garnering critical and commercial success, says he prepared hard and research deep for ‘Spy’, the movie based on the disappearance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.The directorial debut of the acclaimed Telugu film editor, Garry Bh, ‘Spy’ will hit screens across the world on June 29.

The story is by the producer of the movie, K. Rajashekhar Reddy. Iswarya Menon is the female lead starring opposite Nikhil. And Rana Duggabatti of ‘Baahubali’ fame makes a cameo appearance.

Nikhil told Ians that he had little information on Netaji Subash Chandra Bose at the commencement of the discussions for the movie, but he researched and studied on the great freedom fighter and was overwhelmed by his life.

After garnering 10 million (and counting!) hits on the Telugu teaser for the upcoming Nikhil Siddhartha action thriller titled ‘Spy’, the makers have dropped the Hindi version.

The ‘Spy’ team released the Telugu teaser at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s statue at India Gate in New Delhi on Monday. The film is an espionage thriller based on the story of the mysterious disappearance of nationalist leader.

Helmed by Garry Bh, who makes his directorial debut with ‘Spy’, the film also has Makrand Despande, Iswarya Menon, Sanya Thakur and Abhinav Gomatam in principal roles.

Keiko Nakahara and Julian Amaru Estrada, both cinematographers who previously worked on Ajay Devgn’s blockbuster film ‘Tanhaji’ and for multiple Hollywood projects respectively, are a part of the movie’s production team.
