As Monday Night Football comes to an end on ABC, there is the need for more content to fill the gaps. Well, ABC always has us covered with new seasons of our favorite reality series. We get to watch people fall in love and find “the one” with Bachelor Nation. And yes, The Bachelor started it all.

The Bachelor season 29 premiere date

ABC has set the date for Monday, Jan. 27. The first episode will air at 8 p.m. Et/Pt.

It’s only a two-hour premiere. Sadly, we won’t get to see three hours of our new Bachelor meeting his potential brides. After the two-hour premiere, there’s the first linear showing of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which has been a hit on Hulu.

2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Analysis: ‘Shōgun’ Poised to Cap Record-Breaking Domination With Best Drama Series Win
Image
What “Shōgun” accomplished Sunday at the Creative Arts Awards was unprecedented, grabbing 14 prizes (including 13 craft honors) and sweeping every category except the main title theme and original score by Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross, and Nick Chuba.

FX’s Japanese historical drama eclipsed the 13 wins by “Game of Thrones” and is all but certain to take Best Drama Series and more while setting a new Emmy record at the Primetime ceremony September 15.

“Shōgun” took casting, cinematography, period costumes, editing, period/fantasy production design, period/fantasy hairstyling, main title design, non-prosthetic period/fantasy/sci-fi makeup, prosthetic makeup, sound editing, sound mixing, special visual effects, and stunt performance.

In addition, “Shōgun” cast member Nestor Carbonell snagged guest actor honors while, separately, “Shōgun”: The Making of “Shōgun” took short-form nonfiction or reality series.

In re-imagining James Clavell’s celebrated novel about 16th-century feudal Japan, creators Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks found the right...

Shōgun, Jamie Lee Curtis, Quiz Lady and more win big on night 2 of the Creative Arts Emmys
Image
The second night of the Creative Arts Emmys commenced Sunday night. The FX series Shōgun would prove to be the awards darling of the night by taking home an incredible number of awards for categories that include Guest Actor, Costumes, Makeup, Hairstyling, Stunts, Production Design, Visual Effects and more. The historical drama snagged a total of 14 Emmys over the course of both nights and leads in wins.

Another popular FX series, The Bear, would have its own run of wins as the intense cooking show took home statues for casting, picture editing, sound mixing and guest stars Jon Bernthal, as well as Jamie Lee Curtis, who also served as the opening emcee for the ceremony, which was held at the Peacock Theater. The Bear has not been able to catch up to Shōgun, but the show has, so far, collected seven wins, which is just one more than the leader for Night 1, Saturday Night Live.

The series focuses on the drama and character relationships in addition to fire and rescue situations. Other cast members include Jordan Calloway, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, and Billy Burke.

Fire Country features a talented cast playing a wide variety of characters, from convicts to firefighters and everything in between. The action drama TV series, created by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, and Joan Rater, debuted on CBS in October 2022 and was a quick hit among audiences, partly thanks to the performance of Thieriot himself. Fire Country's First Major Death Is A Blessing In Disguise For TV's Most Popular Series
Image
Fire Country's first major casualty, Rebecca, led to Fiona Rene's role in the top-rated show Tracker. Cal Fire participants risk their lives daily, making death a narrative component in the show, with Rebecca's tragic demise highlighting this aspect. Rebecca's death in Fire Country allowed Tracker to cast Rene as Reenie Greene, Colter Shaw's legal expert.

The first major casualty in Fire Country turns out to be a blessing in disguise for TV's number 1 show during the 2023-2024 season. CBS' firefighting procedural premiered in 2022 and quickly became a hit for the network. Being Max Thieriot's TV comeback after departing Seal, there is much fanfare on the show, despite criticisms about how accurate Fire Country is. Beyond its main premise, which is seeing the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection aka Cal Fire respond to various fire threats in their area, the main draw of the show lies in its characters.

This 'Fire Country' Character Deserved Better in Season 1
Image
In the first season of Fire Country (now available for streaming on Netflix), the show wasn't afraid to pull any punches. Characters came and went, and the firefighting show proved to itself and its audience just how dangerous the job can really be. For the inmates of Three Rock Conservation Camp, this becomes clear early on, perhaps most notably with the death of Rebecca Lee (Fiona Rene). First introduced in the fourth episode, "Work, Don't Worry," Rebecca appeared in only five episodes before her untimely death, and out of all those featured in Fire Country's first season, she deserved a more thoughtful ending.
