In the brand-new clip provided by DiscussingFilm, Jovovich and Bautista are seen taking out a plethora of enemies in a barrage of gun violence, reminiscent of Anderson's prior Resident Evil films. Jovovich once again reunites with her longtime collaborator and husband, alongsideGuardians of the Galaxystar Bautista, who is no stranger to action films. Bautista recently starred in the action comedy Killer's Game and Denis Villeneuve's Oscar-nominated film Dune: Part Two. In addition to Jovovich and Bautista, In the Lost Lands also stars Arly Jover, Amara Okereke, Fraser James, Deirde Mullins, and Sebastian Stankiewicz. Dave Bautista's time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is likely over. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor recently stated that there is only one way he'd consider coming back to the universe as Drax the Destroyer.

When we last left “Becky” (starring an extraordinary Lulu Wilson), she’d managed to off an entire cell of neo-Nazis, ingeniously and gruesomely plotting their deaths after she and her ill-fated dad ran afoul of the baddies during the world’s worst family vacation. Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion’s icky “Becky” didn’t do much more than deliver on the promise of turning a teenage girl into a righteous murderer — and, again, what luck to have cast the plucky and spunky Wilson in the title role — but it did feel as if there was more ground to cover (and more blood to spill).

Thus: Sequel! “The Wrath of Becky,” which arrives just three years after Milott and Murnion’s indie hit, certainly offers more — it’s also more of the same.

Becky is back, and this time it’s… pretty much the same as last time. Three years ago, the world witnessed one of the craziest heel turns in recent history, funny guy Kevin James turned up in Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion’s uber violent Home Alone riff, Becky as vicious neo-Nazi, Dominick. As insane as that sounded to a lot of film fans at the time, it actually worked. James played his villain dead straight, and he was legitimately terrifying. Becky pitted James against the fourteen-year-old titular character, played to smarmy perfection by Lulu Wilson, as he and his gang of murderous white supremacists sought a very particular artifact that just happened to be located in the cabin...

Seven months have gone by since we heard the awesome news that production had wrapped on The Wrath of Becky, a sequel to the very cool “ultra violent Home Alone” thriller Becky (watch it Here, read the 9/10 review the film received from our own Lance Vlcek Here). We still don’t know when The Wrath of Becky is going to receive a wide release, but it has been announced that the movie is going to have a world premiere screening at the South by Southwest film festival in March – and along with that announcement comes the unveiling of a first look image, which can be seen at the bottom of this article. Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Connor Paolo have joined Aaron Eckhart in Highland Film Group’s action thriller AFM sales title Ambush.

Mark Earl Burman directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Michael McClung about a mission by US commandoes that takes them into the labyrinthine Cu Chi Tunnels during the Vietnam War. The cast includes Jason Genao.

Production is set to start at the end of the month.

Highland Film Group handles international sales and Saban Films is set to release the film in North America.

Dark Mark Productions and Burman are producing Ambush.

Highland Film Group announced today the company has come aboard to handle worldwide sales for the new horror action thriller The Lair written, directed, and produced by Neil Marshall. Casting is currently underway with plans to start principal photography in Spring 2021. Highland Film Group will introduce the project to buyers at the upcoming virtual American Film Market.

If Wes Anderson ever decided to make a violent home-invasion thriller, you could imagine him writing a character like the teenage hero of this nasty, occasionally effective, movie jointly directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion. Becky is a stroppy 13-year-old with blue-streaked hair and quirky-cool thrift-store clothes whose instinct, when faced with the choice of flight or flight, is to fight like Nicolas Cage on high-grade amphetamines. Up to a point she’s an interesting character, but her crazed badassery is laughably over the top, even for the genre.

The Wet Bandits, as the burglars are called in the film, aren’t structured for deep character menace and the violence. Once the blowtorch starts burning and the paint canisters start swinging, everything is played for slapstick comedy instead of gruesome horror.

IFC’s horror movie “The Wretched” passed the $1 million mark after a month of drive-in movie theater buzz.

The indie film took in $162,000 at 95 sites over the weekend. After premiering at the 2019 Fantasia International Film Festival, it launched on May 1 at just 11 drive-ins, including the Mission Tiki in Montclair, Calif., where it had an informal premiere.

Written and directed by Brett Pierce and Drew T. Pierce, “The Wretched” follows a young boy who discovers an evil witch in the nearby woods. The cast includes John-Paul Howard, Piper Curda, Zarah Mahler, Azie Tesfai and Jamison Jones.

“Anyone who at this point disputes or discounts the power of the big screen experience need only look at the stellar ongoing drive-in performance of IFC’s ‘The Wretched,'” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore.

Meanwhile, Quiver’s thriller “Becky” was at the top of the small but growing U.S. box office with $178,186 at 42 locations.

But When She Was Bad, She Was Awful: Milott & Murnion Subvert Allegiances in Violent Thriller

The innocuously titled Becky is the third feature from co-director Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion and as it arrives in the midst of a country suddenly forced to acknowledge its systemic racism and trenchantly racist history, one wonders if its filmmakers would have changed its title to Karen had they written it today. Because Becky, as we eventually come to find, is certainly not the innocent little white girl we expect.

But beyond its obvious violent spatter which announces its ‘heroine’s’ penchant for violence and talents for killing, the script, penned by Nick Morris, Ruckus Skye and Lane Skye, ends on a note of perilous, ambiguity which completely subverts our understanding of what the film might really have been all about.…...

With everything going on right now, I struggled as to whether or not I should put a moratorium on my work for the time being. For the most part, I have, only because entertainment journalism feels a bit futile these days. But at the same time, I thought that maybe digging into a movie where a teenage girl brutally destroys a group of Neo Nazis might be something we could all appreciate right now.

So, with that in mind, here’s my recent interview with filmmakers Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion about their most recent project, Becky. It's centered around the titular character (played by Lulu Wilson), who squares off against a menacing Kevin James that is hellbent on retrieving a mysterious item from her family’s lake house.
