‘Fallout’ Gets Season Three Renewal Ahead of Season Two’s Arrival This December
Image
Production recently wrapped on the second season of Prime Video’s “Fallout.” Today, Prime Video announced that it has renewed its hit series for a third season.

As for when to expect season two? Look for it to arrive this December 2025.

Based on the mega popular video game, “Fallout” is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have…

“200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

Season two will pick up from season one’s finale and “take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.”

'Fallout' Season 2 Sets Its Return to the Wasteland Much Sooner Than Expected
Image
Amazon's annual upfront presentation is underway tonight, and with it comes a few atomic bombshells for fans of Fallout. Filming just finished last week on Season 2, which seemed to line up the series for a return sometime next year, depending on post-production. However, the stars of Prime Video's record-breaking video game adaptation — Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten — all took the stage at the event to announce that they'll be returning to the wasteland well before then. Though an exact date has yet to be settled, the series will be back on the small screen this December.

The exact story for Season 2 isn't known yet, but it will take the main trio of wasteland survivors to the Mojave Desert after that climactic finale at the Griffith Observatory. Season 1 largely followed Lucy (Purnell) as she left Vault 33 in search of her kidnapped dad, only to get wrapped up in a...

'Fallout' Announces Production Wrap Via Walton Goggins Face Melt
Image
We're returning to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Southern California sooner than one might think. That's right, Prime Video's acclaimed series based on the video game of the same name, Fallout, has officially wrapped production on Season 2. To celebrate, the show's official social media handles posted about this unlocked achievement in the best way they knew how: with a video of Walton Goggins ripping his Ghoulish face off for all the world to see. Because who doesn't need more Walton Goggins in their life right now, you feel me? With The White Lotus andThe Righteous Gemstonesno longer on our screens, we were afraid we might have to traverse this arid clime with nary a whiff of Walt. Thankfully, the universe threw us a face-melted bone.

In a new video we first saw posted to X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter), Fallout announced the good news via twinkly, jazzy...

‘Fallout’ Season 2 Gets a Nuclear Update From Ella Purnell
Image
We're officially one step closer to returning to the wasteland and visiting New Vegas. Ella Purnell announced on Instagram that Season 2 of the smash-hit Fallout has wrapped filming, sharing a photo of her with her on-screen dad, Kyle MacLachlan. The update marks the end of a months-long production beginning in November and starts the countdown before the new episodes drop on Prime Video. Assuming a similar post-production schedule to the first run, Lucy and Hank MacLean could be back on our screens in a bit over a year, landing the premiere sometime within the spring or summer of 2026.

Season 2 of Fallout will heavily revolve around both Lucy and Hank after the final confrontation at the Griffith Observatory in Season 1. The finale finally brought the show's three leads — the aforementioned vault dweller, the Brotherhood of Steel member Maximus (Aaron Moten), and The Ghoul, formerly known as Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) — together...

Walton Goggins Reveals 'Fallout' Season 2 Raises Show to "Another Level"
Image
The second season of Prime Video's critically-acclaimed video game adaptation Fallout is still in production, but that hasn't stopped one of its main stars from teasing a "magical" new batch of episodes that elevates the series to another level. Walton Goggins, who recently starred in The White Lotus Season 3 and currently appears in The Righteous Gemstones, will once again be featured as the gun-toting immortal cowboy Ghoul in Fallout Season 2. He recently gave out some exciting details about the upcoming season, which "really starts cooking."

During an interview with Complex, Goggins was quick to praise Fallout Season 2, teasing fans that it will reach another level as a result of the first season laying the groundwork for the post-apocalyptic world and all of its quirks. As someone who has formed part of several beloved shows that have gone on for more than one season, Goggins is especially equipped to make this statement.

Walton Goggins Gives ‘Fallout’ Season 2 Update: “Blows It Out Of The Water”
Image
It’ll be a while until viewers return to the apocalyptic wasteland in Prime Video’s Fallout, but, nevertheless, Walton Goggins is providing an update to the second season of the breakout drama.

Speaking to Deadline at the red carpet premiere of The White Lotus Season 3, The Righteous Gemstones alum promised a bigger and better Season 2.

“We’re in the middle of filming it right now, we’ve been at it since November, and I can tell you that I thought Season 1 was extraordinary, personally, I was very pleased with it,” he said. “This blows it out of the water, what these writers have done and the artisans that have come together to tell this story. It’s really gonna be something. I can’t wait for people to see it. We’re working really hard to make that happen.”

'Fallout' Season 2 Reportedly Adding Kumail Nanjiani to Cast
Image
Fallout is already regarded as one of the best live-action video game adaptations of all time, and for good reason. Featuring stellar acting and polished visuals, it did not take long for Prime Video to renew Fallout for a second season. Although news about Season 2 has remained behind closed doors, a new casting addition may have just leaked online. One of the more underrated MCU stars from the past few years is joining another adaptation of an iconic franchise in Fallout Season 2.

According to industry reporter Jeff Sneider, Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani is set to join the second season of Fallout. Known for also starring in The Big Sick, Stuber, and the award-winning HBO comedy Silicone Valley, Nanjiani should prove to be another fascinating addition to the genre-bending post-apocalyptic series. It's easy to see how he would fit in with the hilariously dark and twisted show, especially thanks to his comedic talents.

Fallout, Grey's Anatomy & More TV Shows Halt Production Amid L.A. Wildfires
Image
Los Angeles area wildfires have forced many television shows, including Fallout and Grey's Anatomy to halt production. Officials warn that more filming permits may be revoked going forward.

FilmLA, who issues permits for shoots in Los Angeles, released a statement about the fires. "With deepest appreciation for the efforts of local firefighters, police and paramedics at this difficult time, we advise the production community that personnel resources ordinarily available to support film production may not be available during the local State of Emergency." As a result, many shows, including Amazon's second season of Fallout, are now stopping their filming schedules. Fallout is tentatively rescheduled for Friday.

Fallout Season 2 Filming Report Confirms Delay Due To California Wildfires
Image
Fallout season 2 gets a new production update, confirming that filming has been delayed due to the California wildfires. Based on the beloved video game franchise of the same name, the Prime Video series premiered last year, becoming a major viewership hit.

Deadline now shares a new update regarding Fallout season 2, revealing that the show was set to resume filming this week on Wednesday after a holiday break. Due to the devastating wildfires that are currently raging throughout parts of Southern California, however, this filming date has tentatively been pushed back to Friday. It sounds like there's the possibility that it will be pushed back further depending on the status of the fires.

‘Fallout’ Production Restart Pushed Due To Dangerous SoCal Weather
Image
The filming schedule has been shifted on Prime Video’s hit post-apocalyptic drama series Fallout due to the powerful Southern California windstorm and the wildfires it has triggered. Season 2 has been slated to resume production after a holiday break tomorrow, Wednesday, I hear. Instead, the restart of production has been tentatively rescheduled for Friday as a precaution.

Fallout, from Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films, films in Santa Clarita; the breakout series relocated from New York to California for its second season after receiving a $25M tax credit.

Santa Clarita is known for being among the windiest parts of the Los Angeles area. A quarter-acre brush fire broke just north of the city Tuesday afternoon as Southern California continues to be battered by strong winds.

There are a number of other TV series filming in Santa Clarita, including NCIS. As far as we know, no ongoing production has been impacted...

Fallout season 2 is now filming; Walton Goggins is back in the saddle as The Ghoul
Image
The Prime Video TV series adaptation of the popular Fallout video game franchise already had a second season in the works before the first season even started streaming – which turned out to be a good move, because Fallout quickly became Prime Video’s second most-watched title (after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), drawing in 65 million viewers in its first 16 days of release. Now, we’ve learned that Fallout season 2 has started filming, and we’ve been tipped off by the fact that Walton Goggins, who plays The Ghoul, shared an image on social media that shows him getting back into Ghoul character.

‘Fallout’s Walton Goggins & EPs Talk Mixing Humor With A “Darker Place” In Post-Apocalyptic Series – Contenders TV: The Nominees
Image
“I’ve always felt throughout my career that you can always get the audience to a slightly darker place if you tell them a couple of jokes along the way,” says Fallout executive producer/director Jonathan Nolan about the approach and tone the multi-Emmy-nominated Prime Video drama has taken in its debut season.

Joined by fellow EP and co-showrunner Graham Wagner and star Walton Goggins, Nolan was speaking at Deadline’s virtual Contenders Television: The Nominees event.

Portlandia alum Wagner agrees with Nolan’s Pov on mixed-genre storytelling.

“I think that good drama has humor, and it always has,” the showrunner says. “As we’ve sort of seen in the last 20 years, great calamities can happen, and humans are still going to be idiosyncratic, weird and a little, I don’t love the word quirky, but little quirky.”

As ‘Fallout 76′ Crosses 20 Million Players Amid Success of Amazon TV Series, Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard Talks Franchise’s Future (Exclusive)
Image
“Fallout 76” has found a whole new world of players thanks to the popularity of Amazon’s “Fallout” TV series. The Bethesda Game Studios title, which first launched in October 2018, crossed 20 million downloads and plays as of Wednesday.

That is a jump from the 17 million players “Fallout 76” had totaled in December, ahead of the April 10 release of Jonathan Nolan’s “Fallout” TV adaptation on Prime Video.

“It’s kind of been sneaky popular for a while — but not to this level and it’s just been really great for the for the whole studio,” Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard, who oversees the “Fallout” franchise, told Variety.

In the under two months since the series premiered (and has already been picked up for a second season), daily active users across the “Fallout” video game franchise titles developed and published by Bethesda, a division of Microsoft Gaming, have ballooned over 600% to more than 5 million players.

International Audiences Drive ‘Fallout’ to Big Showing on Amazon
Image
Fallout has become one of Prime Video’s biggest series ever — according to Prime Video.

The well-reviewed show, based on the video game franchise of the same name, has become the second-most-watched title ever on the Amazon streaming service over its first 16 days of release, the company says. Prime Video says 65 million viewers worldwide have watched at least some of Fallout since its April 10 premiere, putting the show behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in the streamer’s catalog.

Global audiences have powered a majority of that viewing: More than 60 percent of Fallout’s audience is outside the United States. The (limited) data from Amazon jibes with that from outside sources like Samba TV, Luminate and Reelgood, all of which have tracked a strong start for the series (Nielsen’s streaming data lags by several weeks).

‘Fallout’ Nabs 65 Million Viewers in First Two Weeks of Availability, Amazon Claims
Image
“Fallout” is proving to be far from a (nuclear) bomb for Amazon’s Prime Video.

According to the streamer, the series pulled in 65 million viewers in its first 16 days of availability, with the first season dropping in its entirety on April 10. That makes it the second most-watched title ever on the platform and the most-watched title since the debut on “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” back in 2022.

Amazon also says the show is its most-watched ever among adults 18-34, with 60% of the show’s audience coming from outside the United States. In particular, the UK, France, and Brazil have all proven to be hubs for the show’s popularity. It should be noted, however, that Amazon has not released any data on how viewers are counted, especially when it comes to completion of the show. Therefore, it is unknown if a viewer is counted once they have completed a single episode,...

The series, which was already renewed for a second season, debuted 16 days ago and has since lassoed more than 65M viewers, making it the second most-watched title ever in that time frame on Prime Video, according to the streamer.

Fallout is the the top title globally on Prime Video, as the company also touts that 60% of its audience has been based outside the U.S. In particular, it has drawn large viewership from the UK, France, and Brazil.

Fallout Cast & Character Guide
Image
A star-studded cast brings Fallout's characters and wasteland to life. The post-apocalyptic world of Fallout is shaped by a nuclear war over 200 years earlier. The show's main three characters are played by Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins, with many more actors in supporting roles.

It takes an all-star cast of actors to bring the characters and wasteland of Fallout to life, and the show luckily has just that. Fallout is based on the series of video games of the same name. Though it will likely make multiple changes to its source material, the Fallout show still boasts an intricate world rich with lore. Such a complicated world with such a long backstory needs compelling characters to work.

The main factor affecting the world of Fallout is its apocalypse, as the wasteland was created by a nuclear war over 200 years before the Fallout show takes place. In the wake of that nuclear destruction,...

Fallout moves production to California for season 2
Image
The Prime Video TV series adaptation of the popular Fallout video game franchise won’t begin streaming until April 12th, but season 2 of the show is already moving forward. While the first season was primarily filmed in New York (with some filming also taking place in Utah), Variety reports that the production will be moving to California for the next sequel. That’s not to take advantage of filming locations there, but rather to get a tax break. The California Film Commission just awarded $152 million in tax incentives to a dozen different TV shows, and Fallout is on the list. For filming the next season in California, the show will receive $25 million in California tax credits.

The budget for the show is quite large, as Variety notes that it has $153 million in qualified expenditures for the season.

Like the video games on which it is based, the “Fallout” series is...

Amazon’s ‘Fallout’ Releases First Clip Ahead of April 11 Release!

The series is set to be released on April 11, 2024 on Amazon Prime, and ahead of its release, the streaming service has released the first official clip from the series, showing off some interesting scenes, characters and interactions.
