Daredevil: Born Again made the controversial creative choice of sidelining Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) for its first season. Serving as a continuation of Netflix's Daredevil, the series brought back Woll as well as fellow series veterans Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Elden Henson, and Jon Bernthal. The initial vision for Daredevil: Born Again only included Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, but the series received a substantial creative overhaul to shift it from a reboot to a continuation. Because of these changes, its first season was split into two.
Both Woll and Henson have little screen time due to being late additions to the cast. From the start, Henson's character, Foggy, was planned to die as an inciting incident for how Matt has changed since Netflix's Daredevil. Because of Foggy's death, Karen and Matt become estranged. Ever since Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 premiered, Charlie Cox has become one of the MCU’s most beloved stars. It’s no surprise that he has fans of all ages, from longtime comic readers to a new generation discovering Daredevil for the first time.
During his recent appearance at Washington State Summer Con, Cox had a heartwarming encounter with one of his youngest fans. A little boy, dressed in Daredevil’s original homemade black suit — the one Matt Murdock wore in the early days of fighting crime in Hell’s Kitchen, approached the actor. The moment captured the spirit of what makes comic conventions so special: fans getting to meet their heroes, and sometimes even becoming them for a day.

After the immense success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, all expectations are in Brand New Day to do the impossible and set a new height for the character on the big screen. But how do you raise the bar after reuniting three different live-action iterations of the wall-crawler? That's the question Sony and Marvel have been asking themselves for quite some time, and it seems they have considered almost every possible scenario.
At first, rumors indicated that Peter Parker's next adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would feature the appearance of Charlie Cox's Daredevil in an epic street-level adventure where the Kingpin would act as the main antagonist. However, that storyline was short-lived as insiders later claimed that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Men would appear yet again in the movie. Later, the concept shifted to a multiversal team-up between Tom Holland's web-slinger and Tom Hardy's Venom.

Before Disney+ became the main home for Marvel’s superhero stories, Netflix quietly created its own shared universe called The Defenders Saga. This collection of shows included characters like Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
These series were known for their darker tone and complex characters who faced difficult moral choices. Jessica Jones, in particular, stood out for its deep look at trauma and identity through the eyes of a tough private investigator.
For a long time, fans weren’t sure if these Netflix shows were officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, recent Marvel projects such as Echo and Daredevil: Born Again integrated these characters into the MCU.

Before Disney+ expanded the MCU into the powerhouse it is today, Netflix quietly built its own interconnected superhero world known as The Defenders Saga. This collection of shows, including fan favorites like Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, introduced darker, grittier takes on flawed, complex heroes navigating morally gray worlds.
Among them, Jessica Jones stood out for its exploration of trauma, power, and identity through the lens of a tough, anti-hero detective.
For years, fans have debated whether The Defenders Saga should be considered part of the official MCU. The lines have grown blurrier with recent Marvel projects such as Echo and Daredevil: Born Again, which strongly hint at integrating those characters into the broader MCU narrative.
With Charlie Cox’s Daredevil officially confirmed to be reintroduced into the MCU, it was only a matter of time before the rest of the Defenders started making their way back.

Marvel Studios is changing its approach to Disney+ series, aiming for longer-lasting shows with a focus on gritty, street-level characters. According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel is drawing inspiration from Netflix’s Defenders era, prioritizing grounded heroes for TV while reserving major cosmic events for its films.
This shift was shared via Richtman’s Patreon. Earlier this year we learned that Disney is revamping the way it releases TV shows, and although interesting, it’s unclear whether this rumor has something to do with that.
Producer Brad Winderbaum explained that Marvel is moving toward a traditional TV model. “Moving forward, our priorities have shifted,” he said. “We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television… We’ve gone back to a more traditional television model.”

Marvel is switching up how it makes TV shows, and fans might finally start seeing a difference. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel is taking a page out of Netflix’s playbook by shifting its Disney+ strategy to focus more on grounded, street-level heroes, similar to the Defenders era, while saving the big, universe-shaking events for the movies.
This rumor was posted on Richtman’s Patreon. This is however not the first time we’ve heard that Disney is changing its strategy. Marvel Producer Brad Winderbaum also mentioned that its release schedule and the way the studio makes shows are getting overhauled.
Marvel is now trying to build shows that can last for multiple seasons, just like traditional TV. That means more planning, better pacing, and a focus on storylines that can keep going, not just wrap up in six episodes.

HBO's upcoming "Harry Potter" series continues to attract attention. This time, Gary Oldman has shared his views on the show -- as well as a very particular character he would have liked to play on it. Oldman, of course, played Harry's (Daniel Radcliffe) godfather and notable wizard Sirius Black in the film adaptations, but in a new interview with Variety, he admitted an interest in playing an even more notable character, should the opportunity arise:
"I would have fancied a shot at Dumbledore. But I'm getting up there, I'm getting up there now. Just the right age for Dumbledore."
In the same interview, Oldman did note that he thinks the makers of the show will likely steer clear of actors from the movies, so it doesn't exactly seem like he's holding his breath until someone offers him the role ... which is a good thing, considering that the show has already cast John Lithgow as Dumbledore.

It's been a long time since we've had a big Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover. Fortunately, the wait is getting shorter and shorter. In 2026, audiences worldwide will see Earth's Mightiest Heroes assemble one more time to prevent the collapse of the multiverse as a whole. 27 different characters are already confirmed to take place in the biggest superhero cinematic event in history, but if that wasn't enough, then Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed more heroes are bound to appear.
Fans have been eager to learn who else is bound to join the Avengers on their upcoming crusade. We've seen reports that veterans such as Hulk will make a return, while it would be a true shocker if the likes of Spider-Man or Captain Marvel didn't come back. However, we'd all like to see "new blood" take over the spotlight as well. While some characters have been existing in the MCU for years,...

We all felt the rising heartbeats when Karen (Deborah Ann Woll), Matt (Charlie Cox), and Frank (Jon Bernthal) all came together in the Daredevil: Born Againfinale. Daredevil: Born Again was the Daredevil season 3 that most fans wanted, but if that was good, then it feels like the next batch of episodes will be great.
Showrunner Dario Scardapane will be in full control for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, meaning the series should feel more like the premiere and final two episodes than the truncated Muse arc or divisive bank robbery (which even Charlie Cox hated).
New photos from the show's New York set have surfaced today, this time showing Cox and Krysten Ritter on set (presumably before getting into costume as Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones). Michael Gandolfini, who plays Daniel Blake, was also spotted, suggesting these three might share the screen at some point.
If so, that feels like it could be a huge moment, hence the spoiler tag above. Could it be that Blake is finally realising that the Kingpin of Crime is not the...

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again ended with the Man Without Fear readying his few allies to take down Mayor Wilson Fisk and free New York. However, he's gonna need more than just Karen Page and a few honest cops to do so.
Last month, we learned that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in season 2. We haven't seen her play the character since Jessica Jones ended with its third batch of episodes on Netflix in 2019, so she becomes the second Defender to join the MCU.
A new look at Ritter in costume as the hard-boiled P.I. has been revealed today, and it's as if she hasn't aged a day. The actor is expected to have a major role as Jessica in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, and like Jon Bernthal's Punisher, there's every chance she'll get a spin-off of her own down the line.

The live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon is now soaring in theaters, and one original cast member from the animated movies did not appear. David Tennant, known primarily for his works on Doctor Who and Jessica Jones, failed to reprise his role as Spitelout Jorgenson. Instead, they cast Peter Serafinowicz.
This project was announced in 2023 with Dean DeBlois directing, writing, and producing the film after spearheading the animated movies. As much as he wanted to bring in all of the original voice actors into the remake, many of them did not physically match their characters.

Though Charlie Cox is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Daredevil, the British star opens up about how his character was initially not allowed to appear in the rest of the franchise. While Matt Murdock has been one of the most beloved heroes in the MCU timeline, there was still a period of time where the Marvel-Netflix shows, including the Daredevil series, were not considered fully canon to the franchise. Cox returning in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home was the beginning of audiences getting to finally see Marvel's Netflix properties become fully tied into the rest of the MCU.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been on a recent streak of bringing back characters we thought were long gone. Just when we assumed the story of both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker was definitely over, they suited up for one more ride in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Furthermore, many actors from the original X-Men movie will reprise their iconic roles (albeit as different variants) in the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. Finally, we can't forget about the Devil of Hell's Kitchen himself, who now has his own Disney+ series after his Netflix adaptation was cancelled.

What once seemed impossible is now a reality. Daredevil: Born Again has made Netflix's Marvel series MCU canon. The show's first season brought back Jon Bernthal's Punisher, and featured an Easter egg referencing Luke Cage. Season 2 is taking things one step further by bringing back Krysten Ritter as everyone's favorite Pi, Jessica Jones. With that exciting return lined up, there's been speculation about Mike Colter's Luke Cage and Finn Jones' Iron Fist also making their presence felt in Born Again's second chapter.
Though Colter's Luke Cage was generally well-received, Jones' Danny Rand was another story. His take on the character failed to resonate with audiences, and his show didn't fare much better, either, often considered the weakest entry in Netflix's ambitious slate of Marvel series. Still, despite such struggles, Jones is eager to return to the role. Speaking at a convention in early 2025, the actor asked...

The Black Panther franchise is expanding this year with the upcoming Disney+ series Eyes of Wakanda, which follows Wakandan warriors retrieving stolen artifacts across different time periods. The animated anthology series will directly connect to the film franchise, also spearheaded by executive producer Ryan Coogler. However, it will also introduce new bits of MCU history and characters, including what appears to be a new version of a Marvel superhero that previously made his debut in a Netflix series.
During the Annecy Animation Festival (via Variety), Eyes of Wakanda creator and showrunner Todd Harris confirmed that the animated series will re-introduce a superhero that made his debut during the Netflix era of Marvel Television. “There will be an Iron Fist in here, and not the Iron Fist you expect," Harris stated. Fox crime drama series "The Cleaning Lady" aired its season 4 finale on June 3, 2025. The series' fans didn't have long to savor the episode or guess what would come next, because mere days later, on June 6, Fox canceled the series, citing low ratings.
In fact, ratings for "The Cleaning Lady" had been declining consistently. The first season generally enjoyed around three million viewers (give or take) per episode back in 2022, while by the fourth season, it was down to one million. It's possible that the decline just has to do with fewer people watching all network TV, but the end result is the same.
Created by Miranda Kwok, "The Cleaning Lady" is a remake of an Argentine TV series, "La Chica que Limpia" (Spanish for "The Cleaning Lady"). The series starred Elodie Yung as Thony De La Rosa, a Cambodian-Filipino surgeon living in Las Vegas. On an expired visa and with an ill young son,...

Charlie Cox recently pointed out an old Marvel plot hole when talking about his return to the role of Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again. Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones is set to appear in the next season.
Speaking with Deadline's Crew Call podcast, Cox talked about Ritter's return as Jessica Jones and how it will play into the next season of Daredevil: Born Again. "When did Jessica Jones find out that I’m not dead? At the end of Defenders, everyone assumes I’m dead," Cox said. In the 2017 miniseries The Defenders, Daredevil was presumed dead after a building collapsed during the climactic battle with the Hand, but a final scene at the end of the episode showed him alive, setting the stage for Daredevil Season 3 -- but the other characters, including Jessica Jones, were not shown learning of his survival.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 may have a huge plot to tackle from the Marvel-Netflix shows when the Marvel Cinematic Universe series returns in 2026. Following the epic conclusion to Daredevil: Born Again season 1, the next season will be raising the stakes with Charlie Cox's titular hero. One of the big details that has been confirmed for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is that Krysten Ritter is set to reprise the role of Jessica Jones, who was one of the many Marvel-Netflix stars Cox got to work together with on The Defenders TV show.
In a new interview with Deadline, while briefly talking about Jessica Jones' return to the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, Cox addressed a major plot point from their time together on The Defenders, as he wondered when she found out that Matt Murdock was still alive. In addition to Cox's comments, Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane...

Daredevil: Born Again season 1 ended with the Man Without Fear readying his few allies to take down Mayor Wilson Fisk and free New York. However, he'll need more than just Karen Page and a few honest cops by his side to do so.
Last month, it was confirmed that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in season 2. She's since been spotted on set (you can see those snaps below), and Charlie Cox has broken his silence on reteaming with his Defenders co-star in an interview with Deadline.
"There’s a mutual respect for one another," he teased. "She finds him overly serious and too much of a choir boy, and he finds her to be crass and making light of too many serious situations; she’s more antihero than hero."
However, Cox has one big question about their reunion, which Daredevil: Born Again may or may not answer.

Marvel star Charlie Cox has teased Jessica Jones' role in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again, and fans have something to look forward to when the Disney+ show returns. It was announced at Disney's upfronts last month that Krysten Ritter would reprise the role of the quick-witted superhero Pi she'd held in Marvel's Netflix series again in the MCU. Jessica Jones and Matt Murdock became allies after the two New York-based heroes teamed up in Netflix's The Defenders series, and now the duo will continue their story in the MCU.
Ritter has already been spotted in costume on the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 set, which is currently filming in New York, but fans know little about what role she will play in the show. “Before production was halted because of the writers and actors strikes, Vincent and I had expressed concerned that some of the ingredients that the show had found in the original iteration, that we felt were a key factor in its success, were being omitted,” Daredevil star Charlie Cox tells Deadline’s Crew Call podcast today.

Just when we thought Dexter was finally over, it turns out the Dark Passenger isn’t done yet. After years of following his strict code, Dexter broke his own rules—and paid the price. In Dexter: New Blood, we saw him cross a line he had never crossed before, and his own son ended it by pulling the trigger. That felt like the final chapter. But now, against all odds, the story continues.
The second sequel, Dexter: Resurrection, brings Michael C. Hall back once again, and if the first trailer is anything to go by, this new season won’t just focus on Dexter’s return—it’ll also revisit some of the darkest killers the series has ever introduced. Some are back as haunting memories, while others may play a bigger role in what’s to come.

With Netflix's Defenders Saga now an official part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, no actor or character is off limits from being brought back in a future project. Following Krysten Ritter's announcement that she is returning as Jessica Jones for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, another Netflix/Marvel actor is hinting that he might also be coming back to the MCU sooner than expected.
This past weekend, Luke Cage actor Mike Colter reunited with Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) at the Des Moines Con. An image of the two was shared on social media, reigniting speculative chatter about Colter possibly appearing in Born Again Season 2. Adding fuel to that fire was Colter himself, who subsequently shared on his Instagram Story a poster from Netflix's Luke Cage. Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is still filming in New York, and both Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Danny Rand/Iron Fist) recently confirmed that they are currently in the Big Apple via respective social media posts.
Now, Colter has shared a more direct hint that he may be set to return as Luke Cage for the second season of the Disney+ revival series by posting an image of his character to his Instagram Stories.
We know that Krysten Ritter will be back as Jessica Jones, so it only makes sense that the Man Without Fear (Charlie Cox) would enlist more of his fellow Defenders for back-up.
After Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) declared martial law with the help of his anti-vigilante task force in the season 1 finale, Matt Murdock decided to fight back by assembling a team of his own. The line-up was lacking a bit of muscle,...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a thrilling ensemble of superheroes, many of whom have spent the past two decades saving the world - and indeed the universe - from all kinds of threats. We've appreciated watching adventures on the big screen in which the likes of Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Captain America stopped alien invasions, and on the small screen as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and The Punisher all protected their city from more grounded, ancient threats.
But as the years go on, Marvel Studios has moved on from some heroes, retiring the characters or bidding them farewell with a noble, heroic death. Sometimes a new hero takes over their mantle, while most of the time it is simply retired with the hero who took their last breath in that armor.
Sometimes their legacy carries on in a friend or relative who picks up where they left off.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will bring in a new version of a Marvel Cinematic Universe hero. At the end of Daredevil: Born Again season 1, Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock decided to start an army to take the city back from Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin. That army should include multiple street-level heroes from all over the MCU, with characters like Jon Bernthal's Punisher and Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones confirmed to be part of Daredevil: Born Again season 2's cast. Now, a hero that was set up by the show's first season returns in a new way.
On Twitter, @RayyanTCG shared a Daredevil: Born Again season 2 photo that reveals Angela del Toro as the McU's new White Tiger. Daredevil: Born Again is introducing a new superhero with a familiar mantle in Season 2. Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock was certainly at the forefront of Born Again, but some exciting heroes joined him. Fans were elated to see familiar faces such as Jon Bernthal's Punisher and Tony Dalton's Swordsman back in action, and just as eager to meet new faces like Kamar de los Reyes' White Tiger. While many held onto hope that Daredevil's fellow Defenders, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, would return too, those hopes went unfulfilled, at least in Season 1.
Fortunately, following strong reactions to Born Again Season 1, Marvel Studios is currently in production on eight new episodes to premiere in March 2026. Set photos have already started appearing online from the New York City production. These have hinted at how Daredevil will continue his fight against Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, who just announced a...

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is still filming in New York, and a new set photo reveals a first look at Camila Rodriguez suited up as the McU's new White Tiger.
Her uncle, Hector Ayala, was shot and killed by Detective Cole North, a member of Mayor Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force, after Matt Murdock cleared his name in court. It's clearly a homemade costume, though we'd bet that her mask is made from the remnants of Hector's suit.
Angela does look to be wearing the magic amulet that gave her uncle powers, and we'd be shocked if Daredevil doesn't take her under his wing in season 2. The Man Without Fear was also a mentor to the comic book White Tiger. However, that version of Angela...

For eight seasons and 96 episodes, from 2006 to 2013, the series Dexter ran on Showtime, telling the story of Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who is also a vigilante serial killer. Clyde Phillips was showrunner on Dexter for the first four seasons, and in 2021 he and Showtime brought us the revival series Dexter: New Blood… which, for a time, also seemed to be the end of it all. But that’s not the case. Showtime has tasked Phillips with continue to build up the Dexter franchise, with the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin premiering back in December and a New Blood follow-up called Dexter: Resurrection, which heard was heading for a June premiere date. It’s actually going to miss June by a handful of days, as Showtime has revealed (and trades like The Hollywood Reporter have confirmed) that Dexter: Resurrection is going to premiere with two episodes on Friday,...

Who doesn't love it when a character we thought was long gone makes a Marvel Cinematic Universe comeback? Fortunately, we've seen many of those moments in the last few years. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parkers suited up once again in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Wesley Snipes' Blade and Jennifer Garner's Elektra teamed up with an unlikely group of Mutants in Deadpool & Wolverine, and Matt Murdock swung onto the small screen yet again thanks to Daredevil: Born Again.

The ending of Thunderbolts* shocked the entire world by revealing that the team of misfits and anti-heroes is now The New Avengers — an idea that Sam Wilson doesn't approve of. As easy as that, audiences learnt that conflict is brewing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tensions are at an all-time high, and there is a lot of distrust among those who should be on the same side, just like it happened in Captain America: Civil War. In a time when every hero would be supposed to come together to fight Doom, it seems we'll see different uncoordinated teams, each trying to do their own thing.
It was recently reported that Avengers: Doomsday will feature "at least" three different Avengers groups. One of them will be The New Avengers (as revealed by the movie's casting announcement), while another is heavily suspected to be the Young Avengers. After all, the post-credits scene...

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 could debut the entire Defenders lineup. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand are now part of MCU canon, and it's only a matter of time before they come back. A keen-eyed fan found compelling evidence, further stoking speculation.
Is Daredevil: Born Again setting up an all-out Defenders reunion? Luke Cage and Iron Fist stars Mike Colter and Finn Jones teased as much, sharing Instagram stories that confirmed they're in New York at the same time (Colter even commented "My dude" on Jones' post). Fans saw this as hints they're filming scenes for Born Again, and they've yet to address the speculation. With Krysten Ritter set to reprise Jessica Jones in Season 2, it's now expected that Luke Cage and Danny Rand would also return.
So.. Finn Jones also uploaded this photo from New York and Mike Colter commented on it👀 https://t.co/gQ5I8eSGIjpic.
