Timothée Chalamet Calls Up His Lookalikes for ‘SNL’ Backup
Image
Timothée Chalamet just wants to focus on the music for his upcoming Saturday Night Live double-duty gig. On Saturday, the actor will serve as both as the show’s host and musical guest. In order to juggle the responsibilities of both roles, Chalamet called up some backup: the dudes from his lookalike competition.

“I’ve never done this before. I’m having to be SNL host and musical guest in the same week, so it’s a lot of work,” the actor explains in a new teaser for the episode.

Timothée Chalamet Reunites With Lookalikes to Help Pull Off ‘SNL’ Double Duty — and Trick Jimmy Fallon
Image
Timothée Chalamet is enlisting his lookalikes for help pulling off double duty on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

In a promo skit for the episode, for which he’ll be both host and musical guest (playing songs from Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown”), Chalamet confesses: “I’ve never done this before. I’m having to be ‘SNL’ host and musical guest in the same week, so it’s a lot of work. And I want to focus on the songs, so I brought in some help to cover all the hosting duties.”

Four Chalamet doubles then appear, seemingly from the New York City lookalike contest that Chalamet himself crashed back in October. Each is dressed in a different Timmy era — there’s “Wonka” Timmy, Timmy at the Paris premiere of “A Complete Unknown” (where he rocked a pink skinny scarf), everyday Timmy and, of course, Bob Dylan Timmy.

Timothée Chalamet Surprises Fans by Crashing His Own Lookalike Contest
Timothée Chalamet
Timothée Chalamet unexpectedly appeared at a fan-organized doppelganger contest in New York City, turning what was supposed to be a small gathering into a viral phenomenon. The event, hosted in Washington Square Park, attracted hundreds of admirers and impersonators, culminating in a surprise appearance by the Oscar-nominated actor himself.

Anthony Po, a 23-year-old YouTuber, launched the contest and guaranteed the winner a small $50 cash reward. What began as a humorous fan event suddenly became a large-scale spectacle, attracting so many participants and spectators that the NYPD separated the crowd and fined them $500 for conducting an unpermitted public meeting.

In a dramatic twist, Chalamet entered incognito, wearing a black mask and a baseball cap. He later removed his disguise, startling visitors and igniting excitement across the park. Witnesses recounted a wild scene, with “shrieks erupting across the park” as fans realized the actor was among them.

The event featured fans costumed...

Timothée Chalamet’s Team Offered to Pay Lookalike Contest’s $500 Fine, Says Event Organizer
Image
Timothée Chalamet’s team offered to pay the $500 fine incurred after the viral Chalamet lookalike contest held in New York City’s Washington Square Park in October, according to the event organizer, YouTuber Anthony Po.

Chalamet made a surprise appearance at his own lookalike contest on Oct. 27, where a throng of attendees gathered under the park’s iconic arch to see the actor’s curly-haired doppelgängers. The NYPD ultimately ordered the huge crowd to disperse, and Po was issued a $500 fine for hosting a public event without a permit.

“They offered to pay the ticket, which is truly funny,” Po said of Chalamet’s team in a recent interview with People. Although he declined the gesture, the $500 still did not come out of Po’s own pocket; the digital invite app Partiful covered the fine instead. Variety has reached out to Chalamet’s reps for comment.

A Timothée Chalamet Look-Alike Contest Turns Chaotic, As Organizer Plots Next Move
Image
A Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest held in New York City Sunday took the city and the internet by storm, both because of its premise and the crowds it drew, but also because of the brief appearance of the real Chalamet.

The arrival of the real Chalamet was a surprise. But the overall response to the farcical event was not.

“Let’s just say I definitely have my finger on the pulse of culture,” said organizer and YouTuber Anthony Po tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Po has been a content creator for about seven years, and briefly worked for MrBeast last year, before deciding to focus full time on his own YouTube channel, which has close to two million followers and is filled with creative stunts. The stunts include Po’s decision to eat a jar of cheeseballs in front of crowds in Union Square while masked, earning him the moniker of Cheeseball Man,...

Did Timothée Chalamet Get Arrested? NYC Look-Alike Contest Gets Blown Out of Proportion - Main Image

Did Timothée Chalamet get arrested? A just-for-laughs Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest was held in New York City on Sunday, October 27, which surprisingly gained more than enough traction for the NYPD to 'join' the party.

Timothée Chalamet Crashes Look-Alike Contest Set in New York City

People came to Washington Square Park, Manhattan dressed up as Timothée Chalamet's most iconic on-screen characters from Dune, Wonka, and others, some fans hoped for the main actor who inspired the competition to "do the funniest thing ever", which is to show up to the NYC event himself.

The Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest was hosted by YouTube personality Anthony Po, who is best known for committing to short-skit content, one of which includes dressing up as a cheeseball in NYC.

Po promised a $50 prize to the winner, and sure enough,...

Timothée Chalamet Crashes His Own Look-Alike Contest in New York City
Image
Timothée Chalamet surprised fans at his own look-alike contest in New York City on Sunday, where the rowdy event resulted in at least one arrest.

Chalamet posed for photos with several of his doppelgängers present at the event — many of whom were dressed as the actor’s most famous characters, including Willy Wonka and Dune‘s Paul Atreides. The Associated Press reported general chaos surrounding the event, where Chalamet was flanked by body guards and some fans seemed to mistake look-alikes for the real actor.

The contest had been previously advertised on flyers around New York and was one of several doppelgängers events hosted by YouTuber Anthony Po, with a $50 prize for the winner. Look-alikes were interviewed onstage about their plans with Kylie Jenner, Chalamet’s presumed girlfriend, as well as their French proficiency (the Little Women actor is bilingual). Miles Mitchell, a look-alike dressed as Willy Wonka, eventually took first place.

Timothée Chalamet Crashes Timothée Chalamet Lookalike Contest
Image
Timothée Chalamet himself showed up at a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in Washington Square Park in New York City on Sunday afternoon, posing for photos with shocked doppelgängers and fans who had gathered to watch the competition.

The contest, which was promoted via street flyers and on the social media over the last few weeks, saw multiple Chalamet lookalikes compete for a grand prize of $50. The real-life Chalamet showed up about 30 minutes into the competition, initially sneaking through the crowd by concealing his face with a mask and baseball hat.

The NYPD eventually broke up the fun, dispersing the crowd and issuing a $500 fine to the event’s organizers for failing to secure a permit for the event. One of the contestants was also detained by police for an undisclosed reason. Despite the disruption, a Staten Island college student named Miles Mitchell was crowned the winner.

Timothée Chalamet Surprises Fans At Timothée Chalamet Lookalike Contest In NYC
Image
Timothée Chalamet was in good company during a visit with fans this weekend, where he was more than likely asked to call them by his name.

On Sunday, the Oscar nominee made a surprise appearance at New York City’s Madison Square Park, where hundreds of fans gathered to compete in a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest.

In videos shared to social media, several doppelgängers posed for photos in the sea of people before the Dune star joined them, resulting in some genuinely shocked faces. A frenzy broke out as he hugged his admirers and posed with them.

Incidentally, Chalamet didn’t win the contest, arriving with a mustache and a shorter head of hair — after portraying Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

The contest took place after flyers popped up around the city with a Qr link to the event’s Partiful page and the offer of a $50 cash prize.

‘Lore’ Review
Image
Stars: Miles Mitchell, Dean Bone, Sally Collett, Samantha Neale, Richard Brake, Andrew Lee Potts, Daniel-John Williams, Steven Blades, Jennifer K Preston, Theo Preston, Jordaine Lincoln, Rufus Hound, Katie Sheridan, Finbar Healy | Written by James Bushe, Patrick Michael Ryder, Christine Barber-Ryder, Greig Johnson | Directed by James Bushe, Patrick Michael Ryder, Greig Johnson

Tales told around the fire, especially a campfire, have been one of the primary ways humans have passed on myths, lore and scary stories in general as long as humans and fire have co-existed. And the movies have picked up on that, using it as a framing device in Grim Prairie Tales, Screams of a Winter Night and plenty of others.

In the aptly named anthology film Lore, a quartet of campers, Dan, Mark, Donna, and Sally share their stories with their guide, the exceptional creepy Darwin.

After informing them of the evil history of the ground their tents are pitched on,...

Lore review – Brit-horror anthology tells its gruesome stories around the campfire
Richard Brake
Richard Brake is well cast as the host for this portmanteau of grisly yarns, where the girls’ tales are made of stronger stuff than the boys’

Anthology films are notoriously hard to pull off but, though it starts shakily, this low-budget British portmanteau has an ace in the hole: horror stalwart Richard Brake, whose grimy leer is normally a kitemark of something at least halfway chilling. (Hopefully his dental hygiene is better in real life.) In Lore, he is a Cryptkeeper-style host for four hikers out for an “immersive” experience in the wilds; informing them that they have pitched their tents above the site of some ancient evil, this campfire compere bids them bring forth their most blood-chilling yarns.

The boys, Mark (Dean Bone) and Dan (Miles Mitchell), think basic: the former trots out a warehouse runaround with gang fugitive Daniel (Andrew-Lee Potts) encountering a saw-toothed monster and a last-gasp psychological twist.

Film Review: ‘The Poison Rose’
It is 1978 in the City of Angels and the hard-drinking washed-up sleuth Carson Phillips is having another boozy day through its atmospheric streets. There is a hint of innate coolness and self-deprecation in his elongated voiceover intro — you might even briefly mistake Carson, played by a one-note John Travolta, for a Philip Marlowe or Jake Gittes type. But “The Poison Rose,” an astonishingly listless neo-noir wannabe from director George Gallo (writer of 1988’s “Midnight Run”), is not the deliberately poor “Chinatown” imitation it starts off as — that could have been perversely daring, maybe even somewhat entertaining. It in fact becomes something a lot worse, when Carson heads to Galveston, Texas, in search of a missing person, at which point, viewers are taken hostage by this mix of mysterious exes, confusing accents, and desperately labored plotting.

It all starts promisingly enough, with an attractive femme dressed in a seductive pose and...

Eddie Murphy is pretty reclusive in his later years, and he hasn't been making too many public appearances, though he'll often admit that he's not a hermit by any means, and if people really want to see the comedian in action, he heads out of the house every day to get his morning coffee at the local Starbucks. He just tries very hard to stay out of the tabloids.

He has been making some news as of late, having recently become engaged to his fianc&#233e Paige Butcher, aged 39, whom he just had a baby boy with named Max Charles Murphy. The baby...
