Damon Colquhoun is a Harlem, New York based storyteller: award winning narrative photographer, writer, and filmmaker. He graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a degree in Art. Damon spent the next five years working in commercial visual effects on a number of major brand campaigns. At the same time, he continued to pursue his own artistic projects.

In 1996, prior to college, Damon started writing and directing short films and working on independent film sets. In 2000, with the intention of expanding his visual vocabulary and becoming a better film director, Damon started shooting still photography. He fell in love with the power, grace and autonomy of the still camera and has been making photos ever since.

Damon was trained as a screenwriter by the late Fred Hudson (writer of The Education of Sonny Carson, NYU Screenwriting Professor and co-founder, with Budd Schulberg, of the Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center). In addition to screenwriting, Damon loves writing narrative essays and six-word stories.

To round out his understanding of imagery and storytelling, Damon studied improv acting, and Meisner technique with Pamela Moller Kareman at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (formerly The School for Film and TV).

Damon was a winner of Canon's / Ron Howard's Project Imaginat10n. His work has been exhibited at the Hewitt Gallery of Art in New York City.

Damon was trained in screenwriting by the late Fred Hudson at the Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center (FDCAC). While FDCAC was built and developed by Fred Hudson, it was the brainchild of Budd Schulberg (On The Waterfront): an east coast extension of his Watts Writer's Workshop.
