Matthew Rhodes Kriete was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Buck and Jennifer Kriete. Matt grew up in Indialantic, Florida with his younger sister Sara. The small beach community provided a quiet and happy childhood. As a national merit scholar, Matt decided to pursue writing as a career. He attended and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
