Netflix's The Perfect Couple cast is jam-packed with A-list actors who help shape the Nantucket-based murder mystery. The miniseries is an onscreen adaptation of the eponymous book by New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand. The Perfect Couple centers on the wedding of Amelia Sachs and Benji Winbury at the Winbury estate in Nantucket. The night before the event, a murder occurs, raising suspicions about the entire Winbury family.

Murder mystery shows often focus on rich and privileged characters with morally questionable personalities. It is all the more riveting when these shows include an all-star cast. That is certainly the case with The Perfect Couple. Even the actors who don't have name recognition have dozens of credits under their belt, except for a few younger actors. Apple Original Films has unveiled a new trailer for the highly anticipated action-comedy from writer/director Jon Watts, Wolfs, starring Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind, and Zlatko Burić.

Global superstars George Clooney and Brad Pitt team up for the action comedy Wolfs. Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high profile crime. "There is an art to this you may not realize." Sony Pictures & Apple Original Films have launched a second trailer for Wolfs, a New York City action comedy already playing in theaters now. Wolfs is the latest movie from director Jon Watts, who decided to take a break from Spider-Man after making three MCU movies before: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home. The film follows two lone wolf fixers who are assigned to the same job. George Clooney and Brad Pitt (reteaming again after the Ocean's movies), two "lone wolves", are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected. The ensemble cast includes Austin Abrams (as the kid in the trunk), Amy Ryan, Irina Dubova, Poorna Jagannathan, with Zlatko Burić. And with NYC cinematography by Larkin Seiple. The film recently premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival to mixed reviews.

Not since Big Little Lies have I been this intrigued by a murder mystery. Netflixs The Perfect Couple, which creator Jenna Lamia adapted from the novel by Elin Hilderbrand, has a slew of memorable characters and while its dark, its also funny. When it comes to peeling back the layers of a rich family who is the exact opposite of their facade, The Perfect Couple excels and leans into the typical murder mystery trappings while building an intriguing web of character connections. I enjoyed guessing whodunit the whole time without losing sight of the bigger picture.

The opening credits for The Perfect Couple are fun and cute. As Meghan Trainor’s “Criminals” plays, the cast of Netflix’s new limited series – from the police officers to the housekeeper to Nicole Kidman herself – perform a coordinated wedding dance on the beach. It’s the kind of clichéd bit one expects to see at a real wedding, and there’s something gleeful about watching this deep bench of stars and character actors shimmy and point their way through the routine.

It’s also tonally off-putting, though. The Perfect Couple is a soapy melodrama, but it’s also a murder mystery. By the end of the first episode one of these characters is dead, so while it makes perfect sense to open the series with this extravagant display of wealth, in subsequent episodes, including the killer-revealing sixth episode, the cute opening feels like it belongs on another show.

Wolfs is an upcoming action movie starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, who play two crime fixers who are assigned to the same job. The series will shine a light on and employ those who may not otherwise not be hired for television.
