“Burning Dog“, despite being released straight to video as part of Toei’s V-Cinema line, stands out, particularly due to its visibly larger budget compared to the majority of the collection’s titles. Loosely inspired by a real-life heist at a U.S. military base in Okinawa in 1965 (although this remains unconfirmed), the movie was shot almost entirely on location in Okinawa, following in the footsteps of some of Yoichi Sai‘s previous works, notably “Let Him Rest in Peace”.
