Matthew Watkinson(I)
- Actor
Matthew started acting in primary school. Indeed, his portrayal of a disinterested sheep in the 1982 local nativity play was, by all accounts, "spellbinding". "A masterclass" as one local resident so memorably put it. What happened between that breakout performance and his half second deep background appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger remains a mystery, but what happened after that is there for all to see: a blizzard of astonishingly convincing background displays culminating in a universally acclaimed millisecond performance as "man in a tube station corridor" in the 2012 James Bond movie Skyfall. "Exquisite" was the only real way to describe it, "how could he possibly top that?" the only rational response. But top that he did, with a sparkling performance as a Formula 1 mechanic with incredible hair in the 2013 racing movie Rush. A role that was so well received he had no choice but to immediately retire and build a house out of scrap vehicles in a muddy field in West Wales.
