The Challenge: USA daily events have featured tall buildings, water, and even cars in a demolition derby. For Episode 10, it’s time to bring in the big trucks.

In some sneak peek footage for the latest installment of the CBS spinoff show, host Tj Lavin introduces the competitors to Code Crossing as their latest daily challenge.

The competitors will be on the sides of moving trucks attempting to place pegs and build themselves a bridge. The objective is to use their bridge to move from the back to the front of the truck.

Once they’re at the front, they’ll climb to the top of the truck and pull a cord, which will signal that they’ve completed the mission.

The man and woman who accomplish...

The Challenge: USA, Episode 9 will bring the second daily challenge where players compete individually, but it could also show who people are targeting in the game and who’s working together.

Sneak peek footage showing the next daily event arrived hours ahead of the episode’s debut on CBS. It includes Survivor star Domenick Abbate mentioning that the game should reveal some competitors’ intentions.

“This game’s about to get messy because I think we’re gonna start to see people’s true colors out here,” Dom says in a confessional scene.

In the footage, viewers learn that competitors are playing a giant game similar to Connect 4, where they must carry large tokens down to a playing field. The object is to get four tokens lined up in a row on their board before an opponent blocks them.

The Challenge: USA, Episode 9 sneak peek reveals Big Brother stars as top targets for castmate’s alliance

The competition is becoming more intense with each episode of The Challenge: USA, as cast members try to win, strategize, plot, and scheme their ways to Tj Lavin’s final.

They’ll be working harder than ever in those areas, as The Algorithm is now out of the picture, and it’s become an individual game. Having solid allies becomes extra essential.

Ahead of the ninth episode, all but one of the remaining competitors had qualified for the final by earning 5,000 in their personal bank accounts. That’s Survivor star Sarah Lacina, who appears to be looking to eliminate one specific castmate from the game.

Viewers saw a deal set in motion in Episode 8 of the spinoff show after Big Brother star Angela Rummans was the women’s winner in the daily challenge.

The Challenge: USA star claims production gave castmate win on the show ‘because of the story’
Image

One of the stars from The Challenge: USA has recently claimed that their castmate was given a win during the spinoff show, even though they didn’t win in the event.

The latest claims arrived after Episode 8 of the spinoff aired on CBS and featured an emotional storyline for cast member Ben Driebergen.

During the episode, footage presented Ben dealing with some difficult emotions on the anniversary of his Marine Corp friend’s passing.

That led to a sleepless night for the Survivor star, who reflected on the loss during confessional interviews shown during the episode.

It also may have led to a win being gifted to Ben in the daily challenge by production, according to Amazing Race star Leo Temory.

Temory spoke out about losing the event in recent exit interviews and brought it up in comments...

The Challenge: USA ratings slide for Episode 8 of spinoff show
Image

With only a few episodes left before Tj Lavin’s final, The Challenge: USA may have lost some of its viewers along the journey.

Based on recent statistics, the CBS spinoff show’s eighth episode experienced a dropoff in terms of its ratings and the overall number of viewers.

In The Challenge: USA, Episode 8, viewers saw the game change as competitors continued to do their best to win daily challenges and strategize their way to the final.

It featured another elimination, with The Challenge host bringing out his all-time favorite for a head-banging event.

However, viewership and rating data suggest a slight dropoff occurred between Episodes 7 and 8 of the CBS spinoff series featuring Big Brother, Amazing Race, Love Island, and Survivor stars.

This report will contain some spoilers through Episode 8 of The Challenge: USA.

The Challenge: USA's Leo Temory Explains Sudden Exit
Leo Temory
Leo Temory was one of just three contestants from The Amazing Race on the cast of The Challenge: USA.

On Wednesday's new episode, Leo was eliminated from the CBS reality series after being thrown into a Hall Brawl against Enzo Palumbo.

Temory revealed that he was under the impression this season would not have that particular competition. Moreover, he was blindsided when he walked into the arena.

"It's definitely tough," the TV star shared exclusively with TV Fanatic.

The three-time Amazing Race star said that medics prevented him from returning to the arena after the elimination to say his goodbyes.

"I love Tj. I wanted to go back and shake his hand and thank him for the experience," He said.

The star added that he was put in an ambulance and sent to the hospital.

If you were confused by the exit confessionals in which Leo called everyone snakes, the...

The Challenge: USA’s Leo Temory comments if Sarah Lacina would’ve won men’s Hall Brawl elimination
Image
Amazing Race star Leo Temory appears in The Challenge: USA promotional video. Pic credit: MTV’s The Challenge/YouTube

During The Challenge: USA, Survivor star Sarah Lacina wanted a way to showcase her competitive abilities and began announcing some bold intentions to her castmates.

In Episode 8, she was looking for a way to prove herself and add more money to her personal bank account since she wasn’t qualified for the final.

The only ways to add money were by winning daily challenges, which Sarah hadn’t done, or earning money in eliminations. Sarah had been to one elimination alongside Leo, but the team they defeated only gave them 3,000 to split. That put Sarah at 2,500, and she still needed another 2,500 to qualify for Tj’s final.

Throughout the first seven episodes, The Algorithm assigned each cast member a new random partner for the episode. That changed in Episode 8 when Tj Lavin...

The Challenge: USA spoilers: Competitor says they went to the hospital after Episode 8 elimination
Image

Most of The Challenge: USA season featured competitors going into daily challenges and eliminations with teammates. That changed in Episode 8 when host Tj Lavin changed up the game.

The Algorithm was no longer necessary as Tj revealed that it would be an individual competition now. That meant players competed individually in daily challenges and eliminations.

With the first individual elimination also came the first physical event of the season, pitting two of the men against one another.

The matchup gave one of the competitors a clear advantage based on size and, according to the losing competitor’s recent interview comments, required that he go to the hospital after the event.

That individual also mentioned that his remarks after the loss during the aired episode came from a completely separate part of the...

‘The Challenge: USA’: Leo Explains What Really Happened After Hall Brawl Elimination
Dev and Subhasree Ganguly in Challenge (2009)
The Challenge: USA never felt more like The Challenge than it did in the August 24 episode when the elimination turned out to be a good ol’ fashioned Hall Brawl. After nearly winning the daily, The Amazing Race‘s Leo Temory was the one sent in, by Big Brother‘s Angela Rummans and Survivor‘s Ben Driebergen, to face off against the daily’s loser, Big Brother‘s Enzo Palumbo. Palumbo won the first two rounds, and Temory was eliminated, then he was shown sitting down, refusing to step back out to say goodbye. Here, Temory opens up about that elimination and what we didn’t see that led to him not returning to the arena. It seemed like everyone breathed a sigh of relief when Tj said it was an individual game. Temory: Definitely yes, for the most part, but then no, because The Amazing Race only had two people...

The Challenge: USA, Episode 8 recap: Elimination favorite returns after Tj changes the game
Image
Survivor star Ben Driebergen during The Challenge: USA, Episode 8. Pic credit: Paramount+

After footage recapped the previous episode’s elimination, The Challenge: USA, Episode 8 opened with host Tj Lavin telling the cast it was time to stop using The Algorithm to determine teams.

Instead, Tj said it’s now an “individual game” from now on, with no more teammates for each daily challenge. Tj told everyone to get out of The Arena.

There are just 14 competitors left: Alyssa Lopez, Justine Ndiba, Cashay Proudfoot, Angela Rummans, Cayla Platt, Sarah Lacina, Desi Williams, Ben Driebergen, Tyson Apostol, Danny McCray, Leo Temory, David Alexander, Domenick Abbate, and Enzo Palumbo.

Ben and Danny talked about having each other’s back, possibly forming a secret alliance that also had Sarah in it. Ben said he won all the time on Survivor and expected to do the same on this show, but it hasn’t happened so far.

‘The Challenge’s’ eliminated contestant refuses to say goodbye to cast mates: ‘I think it’s pointless’
Image
The eighth episode of “The Challenge: USA,” titled “Independence Day,” ended on a bit of a downer as the eliminated contestant refused to say goodbye to his fellow cast mates after losing the elimination game. Warning: this article contains Spoilers for the August 24 episode of “The Challenge,” so read at your own risk!

To recap, this week marked the start of the individual aspect of the game, meaning there would be no more algorithm and no more teams. In the “Having a Blast” challenge, the players had to run across a soapy walkway transporting four different keys, all while being sprayed with water. The winners were Angela Rummans for the girls and Ben Driebergen for the boys. Since this week was a men’s elimination, that meant Angela and Ben had to agree on which man to send to the elimination to face off against Enzo Palumbo, who performed the...

The Challenge: USA, Episode 8 sneak peek reveals secret alliance as game changes

In a sneak peek of The Challenge: USA, Episode 8, a brand new alliance is plotting their strategy within the game as two competitors still need to qualify for the final.

Throughout the first seven episodes, there was mostly a “Survivor strong” theme, with the various cast members from Survivor choosing to work together.

Several episodes ago, things got shaken up when Tyson Apostol put one of their own, Sarah Lacina, into elimination. Sarah still managed to win alongside teammate Leo Temory, and they returned to the game.

However, it led to some frustrated Survivor alliance members, including Ben Driebergen and Sarah, who were furious about their supposed ally’s big move at The Arena.

Luckily for Tyson, he avoided getting tossed into elimination in the sixth episode and then was randomly partnered with...

The Challenge: USA’s Kyland Young shares which MTV legend he’d want to face in elimination
Image

One of the notable aspects of The Challenge: USA spinoff is that it only features one familiar face from MTV’s main show, and that’s the host, Tj Lavin.

However, none of the popular competitors from MTV’s show are part of CBS’ spinoff. Instead, the cast members are from Amazing Race, Big Brother, Love Island, and Survivor.

Big Brother brought multiple competitors from Season 23 of their show to The Challenge: the USA. That includes Kyland Young, who became part of a “three-headed monster” that others were looking to oust from the CBS spinoff show.

In interviews ahead of the premiere episode, he’d mentioned that he studied up on his Challenge history, watching previous seasons of MTV’s show in preparation for the spinoff.

With that in mind, he was...

The Challenge: USA’s Kyra Green shares about turning down MTV show before deciding to appear in spinoff

On The Challenge: USA, four CBS reality TV shows provided competitors with Amazing Race, Big Brother, Love Island, and Survivor.

Due to the nature of their show, Love Island entered the season viewed as a group of underdogs, but several cast members proved that wasn’t the case throughout the episodes.

Among them were Love Island women Shannon St. Clair, Cashay Proudfoot, Justine Ndiba, and Kyra Green, who showed their competitive abilities and began to pose a threat to other competitors.

Justine and Cashay were each able to capture daily challenge wins alongside Survivor’s Tyson Apostol, and each got at least one win each in an elimination event at The Arena.

Kyra also showed she was a force to be reckoned with, managing to survive in the game and avoiding...

The Challenge: USA ratings hold steady for Episode 7 as final draws closer
Image

The Challenge: USA continues to move full speed ahead towards Tj Lavin’s final, where the winners will receive their share of significant prize money.

While the particulars for the final are still unknown, it’s become clear that CBS has given The Challenge spinoff a much larger audience than MTV’s show.

Based on ratings reports, the show has many more people watching when new episodes arrive each week compared to the main show on MTV.

Episode 7 brought several exciting storylines, including a cast member ready to leave the show due to issues back home and a pair of in-game rivals forced to work together as teammates.

It also brought another close elimination matchup, with two more winners having to exit the show, as two other cast members survived for another week.

With The Challenge: USA, cast members learned of a surprising twist at the end of the premiere episode featuring The Algorithm, a program that would randomly give them a new teammate for each daily challenge.

The Algorithm appears at the start of each episode, as host Tj Lavin reveals who the new teammates are heading into the next day’s event. He indicated that it would ensure nobody was teamed up with the same person twice until that was no longer possible.

The Algorithm produced some exciting pairings, including an early situation where exes Cashay Proudfoot and Cinco Holland got randomly paired up for a daily challenge despite having broken up months ago. Somehow, they managed to co-exist.

In Episode 7, The Algorithm created a highly intriguing pair of teammates who...

Madonna at an event for 55th BFI London Film Festival (2011)
“How many times did Madonna get married?” That was Kyland Young and Kyra Green’s downfall on The Challenge: USA. And it was a rare elimination that included a trivia component: The teams had to lift medicine balls with the answers to trivia questions up on a platform. Young and Green break down their elimination and discuss how show alliances fell apart. Kyland, Angela spoke about how while she was working with you, she had to look out for herself. ‘The Challenge’s’ eliminated player wants nothing more than to ‘come back’ and play again

The seventh episode of “The Challenge: USA,” titled “State of the Unions,” proved to be the end of the road for two fan-fave reality TV stars. One of the eliminated players ended her journey by saying she had “no regrets,” while the other said he hoped to “come back” and play again in the future. The main challenge was a demolition derby-type competition, with Alyssa Lopez and Leo Temory being the first out, which meant they would be entering the elimination challenge. In The Challenge: USA, Episode 7, teams will clash in a physical daily challenge for the first time of the season. However, they’ll do some from within some hard-hitting vehicles rather than their bodies.

The latest event will feature Challenge bumper cars as teammates will ride inside the vehicle and navigate a dirt course. Like many other challenges, a twist makes things unique and more difficult.

For this particular daily, the teammate driving the car will be unable to see anything as they’ll have a helmet featuring a blacked-out visor on front.

Their partner will be frantically trying to guide them by shouting out instructions as their teammate does their best to drive while blind.

The Challenge: USA spoilers: Cast members say security guard slept in house after Episode 5 elimination events
Image

While MTV’s The Challenge and Paramount Plus’ The Challenge: All Stars have seen some intense moments, viewers watching the CBS spinoff of the competition show hadn’t quite seen anything too dramatic within the first four episodes.

However, that changed when Episode 5 arrived, and castmates who thought they had trustworthy allies realized that wasn’t necessarily the case.

According to several of The Challenge: USA cast members, the situation became so intense with castmates following one elimination that security needed to stay over to ensure everyone was safe.

The footage didn’t show that during the episode, but it may be why things didn’t get too intense between cast members in the compound.

The latest revelation arrived as part of an exit interview, with several eliminated competitors spilling the tea on alliances, including the Survivor group,...

‘The Challenge’ elimination: Derek Xiao gives shout-out to his ‘Big Brother’ ‘partner in crime’ Alyssa Lopez

Derek Xiao and Alyssa Lopez met last summer in the “Big Brother” house, where they were both betrayed by the dominating Cookout alliance. The BFFs were later cast on “The Challenge: USA,” where they vowed to stick together and have each other’s backs throughout the grueling CBS competition. Unfortunately, Derek was eliminated in the sixth episode (alongside his teammate Shannon St. Clair from “Love Island”) when they lost the physical competition to Enzo Palumbo and Justine Ndiba.

The winners of the main challenge were Desiree “Desi” Williams and David Alexander, and they decided to nominate Derek and Shannon for elimination because Shannon had hurt her leg earlier in the episode. Derek and Shannon gave it their all in the final challenge, even getting a head start thanks to their backwards-spelling abilities. However, their stacks of tires kept falling over, which led to a victory for Enzo and Justine.

‘The Challenge: USA’: Azah & Cinco on Strategy, ‘Big Brother’ Blindside & More
Image
Swimming and a bad strategy call were the downfalls of the latest eliminated The Challenge: USA players. After coming in last during the daily challenge, Big Brother‘s Azah Awasum (who knew she wouldn’t do well since it involved swimming) and Love Island‘s Melvin “Cinco” Holland Jr. didn’t offer up any names when they sat down with the winners, Survivor‘s Tyson Apostol and Love Island‘s Cashay Proudfoot. (Cinco thought his ex Cashay would use that against them.) And so they ended up going against Survivor‘s Sarah Lacina and The Amazing Race‘s Leo Temory in the elimination, A Dark Turn, during which the players had to memorize a stack of different-sized reels in a dark container and recreate it in the arena. Sarah and Leo measured the reels first using their hands before even stepping foot inside the container, a strategy that led to their win.

Cashay in tears after Cinco eliminated on ‘The Challenge’: ‘A part of me still loves that man’
Image
One of the most intriguing stories to watch on “The Challenge: USA” was that of Cashay Proudfoot and Melvin “Cinco” Holland Jr. They originally met on “Love Island” and then dated in the real world before eventually breaking up. CBS’s new reality TV show brought them both together for a grueling competition, but Cinco (alongside his teammate Azah Awasum) ended up being eliminated in the fifth episode after losing the “Barreled Treasure” game and the “A Dark Turn” elimination challenge.

“I don’t necessarily wanna be with Cinco and I know he doesn’t want to be with me,” a teary-eyed Cashay told the camera after Cinco was eliminated. “But I think a part of me still loves that man. Like, a part of me is still in love with him. I’m grateful to him and our story even though the story of us is officially closed.”

Xavier Prather (‘The Challenge: USA’) goes off on ‘petty little bitches’ who betrayed him
Image
“I played ‘Big Brother’ Season 23 and I backstabbed everyone and they’re all petty little bitches about it,” declared a salty Xavier Prather after being eliminated in the July 27 episode of “The Challenge: USA.” He won 750,000 in the “BB23” house, but he failed to earn any money during his four weeks of grueling competition on “The Challenge.” Xavier’s game came to an end this week when he ended up being betrayed by two people he’d previously blindsided on “Big Brother”: Kyland Young and Alyssa Lopez. #karma

To recap, Kyland and Alyssa won the trivia challenge and had the power to nominate one team to compete alongside the challenge losers, David Alexander and Justine Ndiba. After much debate, Kyland and Alyssa decided to send Xavier and Shantel “Shan” Smith to the elimination challenge. They openly lied to the cast and said their true target was Shan, when in...

‘The Challenge: USA’: Tasha & James on ‘The Amazing Race’ Betrayal
Image
For one of The Challenge: USA plays, the latest episode was his second in a row in elimination. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out the same way as it did previously. Survivor‘s Tasha Fox and The Amazing Race‘s James Wallington lost the daily challenge after she couldn’t balance the weight in The Challenge‘s version of Hangman. Big Brother‘s Kyland Young and Angela Rummans won, and Wallington had no problem campaigning to go against fellow Amazing Racer Leo Temory. However, instead, the losing pair faced off against Survivor‘s Domenick Abbate and Love Island‘s Cashay Proudfoot in elimination. Despite Abbate making a bad call, Fox and Wallington ended up losing and were eliminated. Here, Fox and Wallington open up about their exit. How’d you each prepare for The Challenge: USA? Wallington: My training was no different than it was for The Amazing Race. I started working out every day,...

Tasha Fox, James Wallington eliminated on ‘The Challenge: USA’ episode 3: ‘A very humbling experience’
Image
The casts of “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” managed to squeak by the first two weeks of “The Challenge: USA” completely unscathed, but both shows lost contestants during the third episode, which aired Wednesday, July 20.

CBS’s grueling reality TV show said goodbye to teammates Tasha Fox (“Survivor”) and James Wallington (“The Amazing Race”) this week after they failed to complete their puzzle in time during the elimination challenge. It was a close race though, as competitor Domenick Abbate (“Survivor”) failed to plug his water hole and would have been disqualified if not for Cashay Proudfoot (“Love Island”) saving the day for that team by finishing her puzzle in record time.

Leo and Jamal (‘Amazing Race’ exit interview) on that lock block: ‘It definitely wasn’t one of our brightest episodes’
Leo Temory
After two cruel fourth-place finishes on Seasons 20 and 24, the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, finally ended their Leg 11 curse on Wednesday’s finale of “The Amazing Race 31” by not only making the final three but winning Leg 11. But then the good times quickly stopped. Upon landing in Detroit, they got an early lead, but then Leo got stumped on the Roadblock — not exactly unlike how he struggled with the Leg 11 Roadblock in Season 23. Having never used a combination lock before, he spent so long at the bank vault that Colin Guinn and Tyler Oakley both passed him on what looked like their first attempts. From then on, it was a two-team battle between Colin and Christie Woods, who won, and Tyler and Korey Kuhl. So you can say they were locked out of first place (#sorrynotsorry).

So what exactly was Leo doing with the lock (or not doing)? How far behind were they?...

Tyler and Korey (‘Amazing Race’ exit interview): ‘We knew we were getting second no matter what’
Colin Guinn
It was anyone’s game on Wednesday’s season finale of “The Amazing Race 31” — or well, just Colin Guinn and Christie Woods‘, and Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl‘s. After passing Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran at the Roadblock, the two teams kept swapping positions and were neck and neck at the final task, assembling a drum set. Each had an error, but it was Colin and Christie who fixed theirs first and cruised to the $1 million. And we do mean “cruised” in that the spread was not as close as the edit made it out to be, according to Tyler and Korey.

The BFFs did improve on their third-place finish in Season 28, but is that worse than almost tasting the $1 million. See what they say in our exit interview below.
