There’s A Very Specific Type of Woman Keeping Matt Rife Relevant
Image
On Matt Rife’s Instagram and TikTok accounts, the same crowd-work stand-up routine is pinned. It’s an extended Milf bit about a beautiful blonde in the front row who gifted the comedian a Tupperware of cookies and a shirt that read “I came to Iowa and all I got was this shirt and a blow job.” Rife bites into the cookie, then lauds the woman with compliments on both her baked goods and the cookies.

The clip was posted more than two years ago on both TikTok and Instagram. On Instagram, it has more than 1.5 million likes and still receives new comments daily. On TikTok, it’s been viewed almost 62 million times. It’s one of several viral crowd-work bits where there’s a flirtation element or where Rife starts taking his belt off for an audience member.

While Rife made headlines for his first Netflix special, where he...

Right now, there’s one question dominating my feed (and no, it’s not why Matt Rife bought the Annabelle doll, though honestly, fair query). It’s this: “How do all these pop stars make their legs look so damn good on stage?”

Chances are, your first instinct was to dive into the comments section in search of answers. Is there a leg-contouring specialist we don’t know about?...

Matt Rife Says Marc Maron Is Just Mad That ‘I Get to Live His Dreams’
Image
Well, at least you can’t say Matt Rife started this one.

Two years ago, Marc Maron was moderating a discussion about Kliph Nestoroff’s comedy history Outrageous when, in response to an audience member’s question, he held up Rife as everything wrong with modern stand-up. Rife is “the new It Boy of shitty comedy,” Maron declared. “And he’s taking a big chance in his career right now to shit on the mostly female audience that he accumulated through social media to kiss up to these pseudo edge lords.”

Two years later, Rife is telling Billboard he has no beef with Maron before revealing just how deep those cuts really were. After all, Rife once looked up to the older comic. “You’re kind of being a dick to somebody who might have looked up to you,” Rife said as if Maron were in the room. “I used...

I Live Here Now Review: 35mm Psychological Thriller Envelops You in A Fractured Reality of Pain and Perception [Fantasia 2025]
Image
Writer/director Julie Pacino makes her feature film debut with the lush & surreal psychological thriller I Live Here Now. Shot on a mix of 35mm and 16mm film, this journey through the mind of an aspiring actress is a nightmare odyssey of scarred memories, bad boyfriends, and the cruel standards of the film industry. From a story perspective it’s maybe not the most groundbreaking examination of trauma but it is an undeniable visual feast from start to finish, with a stunning colour palette and a cast of kooky characters.

I Live Here Now stars Lucy Fry (Bright) as Rose, an actress that’s being pushed to the brink of starvation just for a chance to be considered worthwhile to a casting director. With an incredibly important opportunity just days away, she should be focusing on her audition tape but Rose is forced to leave town in search of an...

The Conjuring House & Annabelle Doll Have A New Owner

Matt Rife & Elton Castee Buy One of the Most Famous Haunted Properties in America
Image
Comedian Matt Rife and YouTuber Elton Castee have just bought one of the most famous haunted properties in America, the Warren home in Monroe, Connecticut. This is the same house that holds the real Annabelle doll, made infamous by The Conjuring movie series.

The house was once owned by legendary paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who claimed that Annabelle, a Raggedy Ann doll, was possessed by something evil. According to the Warrens, the doll terrified its original owner, a young nurse named Donna, in the 1970s.

They say it could move by itself and had a history of causing strange accidents. The Warrens eventually locked it inside a special glass case in their Occult Museum to keep it from harming anyone. Scientists and skeptics have dismissed these claims as folklore, but the story has become a huge part of horror culture.

Comedian Matt Rife purchases Annabelle doll and Ed & Lorraine Warren’s home
Matt Rife
If there’s one thing we have learned about supposedly possessed dolls, it’s to just assume they are possessed and get the hell out of there. But comedian Matt Rife is going to tempt the spirits, as he announced that he has purchased Annabelle, the Raggedy Ann doll that is supposedly possessed and became one of the central points of “evidence” for paranormal investigators (and swindlers) Ed and Lorraine Warren. But it’s not just the Annabelle doll that Rife bought – it’s the home and museum of the Warrens, which he and his partner will reopen after the location was closed to the public.

Taking to Instagram this week, Matt Rife wrote, “Insane Announcement…I have officially purchased Ed and Lorraine Warren’s home and Occult Museum, including being the legal guardian for at least the next 5 years, of the entire haunted collection including The Annabelle Doll, with my good friend @eltoncastee!

Matt Rife Acquires Warren Occult Museum, Becomes Guardian of Annabelle
Matt Rife
Comedian Matt Rife revealed on social media that he and YouTuber Elton Castee have bought the Monroe, Connecticut home of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren—along with the storied Occult Museum that houses the rag doll said to inspire the Conjuring franchise’s Annabelle.

Rife wrote that the agreement makes him legal guardian of the entire collection for at least five years, calling the responsibility “an honor” for a lifelong horror fan. The previous owner, the Warrens’ son-in-law Tony Spera, endorsed the hand-off and will advise on artifact handling protocols, according to the buyers. The museum, shuttered since 2019, remains packed with crucifixes, haunted paintings and satanic relics catalogued during the Warrens’ five-decade career.

Local officials forced the closure after determining that steady tourist traffic violated residential zoning rules. Rife and Castee say they will apply for a special permit to reopen for small tours and overnight investigations and are...

However, Rose had been told she was infertile due to childhood trauma. This unwanted pregnancy collides with an opportunity to sign with Cindy Abrams (Cara Seymour), a top talent agent in Los Angeles. And to make matters worse, her lover Travis (Matt Rife) refuses to stand up to his domineering mother (Sheryl Lee), who appears set to deprive Rose of autonomy over her own body when she decides to abort the pregnancy.

I Live Here Now (Fantasia) Review: Surrealist Horror on Self-Reflection
Image
Plot: A woman finds herself trapped in a remote hotel where the violent echoes of her past come alive, blurring the lines between her darkest nightmares and the waking world.

Review: You just never know what to expect when the children of famous actors start getting into the film world themselves. Sometimes it’s a disaster, and other times they blossom into great filmmakers of their own. Hailing from Julie Pacino, there’s sure to be a certain spotlight on her finally stepping into the world of feature film. And rather than play it safe, she’s decided to enter the world of surrealist horror. On the surface, it’s a subgenre without answers and more up for interpretation, but it requires a firm vision to pull it off. I Live Here Now rides the line and ultimately is able to accomplish what it’s trying to do.

I Live Here Now (2025) Movie Review: A Tribute to Lynchian Surrealism
Image
Premiering at this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival, “I Live Here Now” is a hellish, fever-dream-like trip. In her feature debut, writer-director Julie Pacino has chosen to explore the labyrinths of human psychology and memories. Comparisons with David Lynch’s works, specifically “Inland Empire,” are inevitable. Admittedly, “I Live Here Now” pulls its punches and remains a little more rooted to ‘reality’ than what “Inland Empire” did. Whether that is for the good or the bad, it depends entirely on whether you find Lynch frustratingly impenetrable or bizarrely brilliant. I tend to veer towards the latter while appreciating the frustration mentioned in the former. So, as someone who does not mind an occasional nightmare, “I Live Here Now” just about works for me.

Like “Inland Empire,” “I Live Here Now” centers around an actress and her bid to play a role. Rose (Lucy Fry) is an aspiring actress who...

Julie Pacino on Exploring Female Trauma in Lynchian Feature Directorial Debut ‘I Live Here Now’
Image
Lucy Fry’s Rose, a woman haunted by trauma, ends up checking herself into an inn where reality seems to unravel, blurring the lines between past and present, and waking life and dreams. That’s the set-up for I Live Here Now, writer-director Julie Pacino’s feature directorial debut, which world premieres on Thursday at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal before screening at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in the out-of-competition lineup and then traveling to the Edinburgh International Film Festival for its Midnight Madness program.

“The film pulses with competing anxieties: the pursuit of perfection, the weight of generational trauma, and the invisible fist of capitalism tightening its grip around the necks of its characters,” the Fantasia synopsis reads. “Pacino plunges us into a vibrant and nightmarish psychodrama that reverberates with echoes of David Lynch, Dario Argento and the Coen brothers.”

Shot on 35 millimeter film, with...
