Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye Review: More Than a Monster Mash
Image
Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye continues the adventures of its central pair with an almost aggressive refusal to slow down. The story operates with a particular brand of genre-blender whiplash that feels unnervingly appropriate for our times.

We are reintroduced to Momo Ayase, the spirit medium, and Okarun, her compatriot cursed with alien abilities, characters who treat paranormal catastrophe as a slightly inconvenient after-school activity. Their dynamic remains a chaotic ballet of adolescent awkwardness and world-saving necessity.

The mission seems straightforward enough for their line of work: travel to Jiji’s sleepy hometown, famous for its hot springs, and exorcise whatever is ailing his parents. But the film quickly signals that a simple haunted house is the least of their concerns.

A deep-seated local legend about a sacrificial serpent, a town that is just a little too quiet,...

Dandadan Season 2 Reveals New Trailer Previewing Opening Theme Song
Kazuya Nakai, Mayumi Tanaka, Shion Wakayama, Nana Mizuki, Ayane Sakura, Natsuki Hanae, and Kaito Ishikawa in Dandadan (2024)
The official website of Dandadan anime unveiled the second promotional video for the series’ upcoming second season on May 19, 2025.

The Pv previews the new opening theme song, titled ‘Kakumei Douchuu’ (On the Road), performed by Aina the End.

Singer-songwriter Aina the End commented on her involvement with the project, stating:

“I had the pleasure of writing the new opening theme ‘Kakumei Douchuu’ for Dandadan Season 2. I’ve been a huge fan of the original manga and Season 1, so I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity.

In the song, I poured in the emotions of someone running forward and fighting to protect what’s important to them, while carrying a sentimental love in their heart.

It reflects the inner feelings of Momo and Okarun, and I hope it can also push forward those who may be feeling lost. It’s a song I truly love.”

The anime’s second season was confirmed for July 3, 2025, release.

Gachiakuta Anime Unveils Character Visual & Teaser For Riyo
Image
The official website of the Gachiakuta anime has revealed a new character visual and teaser for Riyo, one of the main characters in the series, on May 16, 2025.

Following the previously unveiled characters Rudo, Enjin, and Zanka, the latest illustration was drawn by Satoshi Ishino, the anime’s character designer and chief animation director.

Yumiri Hanamori, who voices Riyo, described the character as having an elusive nature, likening her to a black cat.

“She can slip into others’ space effortlessly, yet never lets anyone into hers. She’s an elusive girl, like a black cat. I portrayed her with a touch of danger and seductive charm, while being careful not to overly express emotions in her voice.“

The Gachiakuta anime is slated for release in July 2025, with animation production by Studio Bones.

The main staff includes director Fumihiko Suganuma, series composer Hiroshi Seko, and character designer/chief animation director Satoshi Ishino.
