Evan Alderson has worn many hats in the film industry. He began his career as an actor at the age of 10, later being accepted into the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. There, Alderson joined the TV/Film department, receiving top-notch training from industry professionals and creating several short films. Posing as a college student, Alderson snuck his film "Just Paranoid" into the Cal State Los Angeles Film Festival and took "Best Narrative." He also received an award for "Best Cinematography" that same year for the same film at the Moondance Film Festival.
Alderson spent his college years studying in Italy, Costa Rica and Oxford, and filming a documentary in Belize. Upon his return, he underwent a film intensive at UCLA, where he wrote and directed a short film entitled, "The Confident Man." During this time, Alderson was also in production on his film "Beyond Entertainment," an undertaking that would stretch his abilities as a director and introduce him to the world of visual effects. After producing several music videos and commercials for a variety of major brands and artists, he launched into a career as a VFX compositor. His expertise soon expanded to include practical effects and combining such with digital technology. This skill set lead to work on a slew of feature films.
In 2013, Alderson began working at Paramount Pictures where he immersed himself in the studio world. For years, he worked directly alongside a studio executive, learning valuable lessons about the industry and film production. In an effort to participate in all aspects of filmmaking, he dabbled in careers as an art director, armorer and set builder. This was followed by two years working as an editor on "The Universal Language."
As a director, Alderson prides himself on having a broad understanding of many different facets of filmmaking. This knowledge allows him to work harmoniously with talent and department heads alike.
