Exclusive: Ginger & Fed has scored a slew of deals in Cannes for Gregoire Vigneron’s French comedy Million Dollar Madness (Le Million) starring Christian Clavier.

The film has sold to Canada (Tva Films), Spain (A Contracorriente Films), Benelux (Paradiso), Switzerland (Pathe), Hungary (Vertigo Media), Cyprus and Greece (Videorama and Weirdwave), Portugal (Nos Lusomundo Audiovisuais), Ukraine (Total Film), Romania (Malusa Media), Czech Republic and Slovakia (Foxx Media Group), and Cis and Baltic states (Ultra Vogue Records).

Other Angle lines up French comedy slate by three debut directors (exclusive)

Leading French actors Thierry Lhermitte, François Berléand and Charles Berling will play themselves in Ged Marlon’s theatre comedy Achilles’ Skills (Les Talents d’Achille) which Other Angle Pictures is launching at Unifrance’s Rendez-Vous in Paris market this week.

The film follows the titular Achille who is attempting to stage his latest play and tries to convince his famous friends Lhermitte, Berléand and Berling to star in it by telling them he only has six months to live.

The film is produced by Writerz and is now in post-production. Moonlight will release in France later this year.

‘Lucky Star’, ‘Bald Is The New Black’ headline Newen Connect’s comedy-powered 2025 slate (exclusive)

Newen Connect has boarded Pascal Elbé’s Lucky Star, one of four newcomedies the company will launch at Unifrance’s Rendez-Vous in Paris later this month.

Actor/filmmaker Elbé’s fourth feature as a director is set in 1940 France and stars Benoit Poelvoorde as an army deserter who hatches a plan to escape Nazi punishment and protect his wife and sonby pretending his family is Jewish, but ends up being swept into the Resistance.

Elbé also stars in the film with Audrey Lamy, Zabou Breitman and Hugo Becker. It is produced by Yze’s Yann Zanou and Adnp/Quad’s Nicolas Adassovsky.

Sony Pictures International Buys Global Remake Rights to Newen Connect’s French Comedy ‘Family Therapy’ (Exclusive)

Sony Pictures International Productions (Spip) has picked up remake rights to Arnaud Lemort’s French family comedy “Family Therapy” (“Jamais sans mon psy”) from Newen Connect.

Under the deal, Spip will develop localized versions of the French movie around the world, excluding China and France.

Produced by Mathieu Verhaeghe and Thomas Verhaeghe at Atelier de Production, “Family Therapy” follows Damien Leroy, a deeply anxious man who is challenged by his therapist Dr Beranger, to find a woman to share his life. When Damien unexpectedly falls in love with Alice, he soon discovers that his father-in-law is none other than his therapist who is determined to make his life a living hell.

The cast is headlined by well-known French comedy fixtures, Christian Clavier (‘Serial (Bad) Weddings,” “Asterix and Obelix”), Baptiste Lecaplain, Claire Chust, Cristiana Réali and Rayane Bensetti (“Let’s Dance”). TF1 Studio, Ugc and TF1 Films Productions co-produced the movie

Newen Connect is heading to Unifrance’s Rendez-Vous with two French-language ensemble comedies, Family Therapy and Start Me Up.

Family Therapy is the fourth feature from Arnaud Lemort. and follows a man with severe anxiety whose therapist decides he cannot stand him, kicks him out of his practice and challenges him to find the woman of his dreams Christian Clavier and Baptiste Lecaplain star with Claire Chust, Cristiana Réali and Rayane Bensetti.
