Screen Producers Australia has announced the appointment of its 2015 - 2016 councillors who were elected at the Agm last week.
The new councillors are Marcus Gillezeau, Ewan Burnett and Tania Chambers, succeeding Amanda Higgs, Morgan Jaffitt and Andrew Ogilvie.

The company has secured a raft of key sales on the comedy follow-up to A Few Best Men and announced from Toronto an October 26 production start in Western Australia.
Deals have closed in Australia and New Zealand (StudioCanal), Italy (Lucky Red), Middle East (Italia Films), Eastern Europe (Modus Vivendi), Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Columbia (Eastwood Holdings) and Vietnam (Galaxy).
Xavier Samuel, Kris Marshall and Kevin Bishop will reprise their roles in the follow-up to the 2011 wedding comedy (pictured) written by Dean Craig.

Screen Nsw has named Grainne Brunsdon as acting CEO after Maureen Barron stepped down last Friday and has revealed its program funding for 2015/2016.
Brunsdon, manager, stakeholder relations and industry development, will act in the post until at least September 11.
The agency says other arrangements will be put in place after September 11 if needed until the replacement CEO starts work.
Barron was appointed in March 2012, succeeding Tania Chambers. She has indicated she intends to spend time with family in the Us and to pursue other projects.
Screen Nsw said its budget allocations are targets only and are subject to change based on the volume and quality of applications, changing industry needs and additional funds that may become available due to increased revenues from other sources.

Barron informed staff today, who reacted with surprise and disappointment. She indicated she intends to spend time with family in the Us and to pursue other projects.
The Nsw Government is undertaking a recruitment process designed to ensure a smooth transition to a new CEO.

Director Kimble Rendall will shoot the final concert featuring all eight current and previous members of the Hoodoo Gurus at the Vivid Festival next month for his feature-length documentary on the band.
Rendall won.t be able to call the shots as he.ll be on stage as a co-founder of the band, whose four original and four later members reunited for the Be My Guru concert at Scarborough Beach Amphitheatre last November.
So, working with producer/DoP Helen Barrow and Perth producer Tenille Kennedy, he will arrange the set-up of the 5-8 cameras and plan the shooting schedule. Tania Chambers is the Ep.

Exclusive: Arclight arrives in Cannes with sales rights to A Few Less Men, the sequel to its 2011 comedy A Few Best Men.
Kevin Bishop, Kris Marshall and Xavier Samuel will reprise their roles and Dean Craig, who wrote the script with development funding from Arclight Films and ScreenWest, will make his feature directorial debut.

Stephen Van Mil.s Impian Films will produce The Damned, a film based on the true story of two Western Australian teenagers who murdered a girl they had befriended.
Reg Cribb has written the screenplay based on his 2011 play. Andrew Lewis, who directed the play for the Black Swan State Theatre Company, will make his feature directing debut.
Lewis is associate professor at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts at Edith Cowan University. Cribb and Lewis received development funding from Screen West before Van Mil became involved.

A short film by the writer of Happy Feet and Master and Commander is among a selection of films selected in ScreenWest’s latest film initiative.
John Collee wrote Tango Underpants, about an Australian backpacking through South America who, after a bad break up discovers the tango and, according to the synopsis ‘the importance of the right underwear’.
The short film is one of 29 projects selected as part of a fund-matching initiative between ScreenWest and crowd-funding site Pozible, in which for every dollar raised by the selected projects through Pozible, ScreenWest will contribute three dollars.
With a pre-defined budget projects must be between $20,000 to $200,000.
West Australian culture and the arts minister John Day said: “Each project will have a set time frame – up to a maximum of 90 days – to reach their funding target, although the $250,000 will be allocated on a ‘first past the post’ basis.”
