Sophie Thurling

Sophie Thurling is an Australian actor born in Melbourne. Sophie began acting over 10 years ago. Unsure of her career path as an actor to begin with, she went on to study at a number of institutions including the Australian Shakespeare Company, VCA, NIDA and the Australian Institute of Performing Arts; to name a few. Since then she has appeared in a variety of productions from bit parts in short films, to lead roles in features. Some landing her awards in film festivals, and some released on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime. Sophie is also known for her skills with firearms for film and TV. Training and working for several years as an assistant theatrical armorer in Victoria. During that time she also studied stage combat and assisted in teaching courses aimed to help actors learn basic stage combat skills as well as safety and handling of firearms for film and TV.
