Brett Goldstein might be one of the more underrated players in movies and TV series. He doesn't just act, either. Nor does he only act and write. He creates, and what he comes up with are some excellent and highly entertaining ideas.

Many might know him from playing Roy Kent on the Apple TV series, Ted Lasso. Kent is a good-hearted menace. He is not easy to please, but he will help those in need. Goldstein plays the character dynamically and exceptionally well.

Some might know him from another Apple TV series, Shrinking. His part is minor on that show (he doesn't appear until season two), but essential. He plays the character who drives drunk and kills Jason Siegel's character's wife. The show is a comedy with a heavy dose of kind-hearted drama. Goldstein also co-wrote the episodes and created the show.

2024 has been a great year for romantic movies, as many of the movies that came out this year included some great love stories. The fans of the romantic genre have been patiently waiting for the genre to make a return, and their time is finally here. 2024 saw the release of many romantic movies, including mix-genre movies like The Fall Guy and Fly Me to the Moon. Everyone knows NASA was a notoriously boring place in the summer of 1969. Nothing going on but smoking and stirring Tang. Thankfully, in Apple TV+'s Fly Me To The Moon, Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson inject some human drama into the horn-rimmed hallways of Merritt Island's Launch Operations Center. The Rom-Com-Dram, which dropped in theaters this past July - and spent an unusually long time in "rent or buy" limbo - is finally getting a streaming date this December 6th. Per the synopsis:

Set in a mildly dystopian future, Jackpot! takes place in Los Angeles, where a billion-dollar lottery win comes with a catch: if you win, you have to survive until sundown, because people can legally try and kill you to take your prize for themselves. The only other rule is that you’re not allowed to use guns, which is just as well, or the movie would have been one long shoot-out.

The Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed for Jackpot!, the new film starring John Cena and Awkwafina. The critics are pretty split on the movie, with the current score sitting with a rotten status, and the audience score is also not much better.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Jackpot! currently has a score of 41% on the Tomatometer. The audience score is a little better, though still rotten at 51%. It seems that most everyone agrees that the film is wildly over the top, and its brand of humor won't appeal to everybody. Some critics appreciate the film for its bonkers nature, finding it to be unique and entertaining, though the slight majority of them had a hard time getting on board.

Ok, technically, she’s trusting Noel — he’s just played by Cena. Now streaming on Prime Video, Paul Feig’s latest film centers on Katie Kim (Awkwafina), who finds herself literally running for her life after winning the lottery in near-future Los Angeles.

In this world, it’s perfectly legal to murder the lottery winner and take over their jackpot, so long as you complete the kill by sundown and don’t use a gun. It’s an insane concept, and it boasts a fun cast of familiar faces to bring it all together.

John Cena, Simu Liu, and Awkwafina along with director Paul Feig rode on the top of a bus to the premiere of their new Prime Video movie on Tuesday (August 13) held at the Tcl Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Calif.

It's a full month at Prime Video and Freevee! This August, get ready for the Season 2 premiere of Prime Video's "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” Based partially on J.R.R. The movie isn’t setting the box office on fire, having pulled in just $20 million worldwide during its first week of release, but it will be heading to Apple TV+ soon anyway – and Berlanti and Johansson were able to establish a strong working relationship during the making of the film. Yes, I see that title and I immediately picture “ole’ blue eyes”, a trench coat draped over a shoulder, crooning that catchy 1954 Bart Howard classic. And that’s just what the producers want to evoke, to get you in a nostalgic mood for a frothy romance set against the backdrop of the “space race”. Mission accomplished, but could a “rom-com” really work against the somber historical backdrop we’ve seen in heavy, serious films like First Man, A Million Miles Away, Hidden Figures, Apollo 13, and the HBO miniseries, “From the Earth to the Moon”.Now, that’s the trick, much like the possible results facing NASA, Will it blast off or crash land? The Amazon MGM Studios film from director Paul Feig begins streaming via Prime Video on Aug. 15. Set in Los Angeles in 2030, Jackpot! focuses on Katie (Awkwafina), a struggling actress who wins the lottery without realizing that the state of California grants everyone else until sundown to murder the winner and claim the prize money without consequences. Helping Katie to stay alive is an amateur lottery protection agent (Cena), who gets a cut of the cash if she survives.
