V/H/S Halloween announced, directors revealed
Image
Peanut butter and jelly. Ice cream on a summer day. Milk and cookies. In the words of country star Luke Combs, some things just go better together, and probably always will. Not every example needs to be food-related, though horror movie fans may disagree after hearing how they'll be feasting this October.

Horror has always paired best with Halloween, and it makes sense. It's the only holiday we have that puts horror front and center, whether it be scary costumes, horrific lawn decorations, or one of the greatest horror movie franchises of all-time, Halloween.

Michael Myers isn't coming to the V/H/S franchise, the long-running horror anthology, but his spirit lingers over the recent announcement that the theme for the eighth installment is, you guessed it, Halloween. The news came out yesterday that V/H/S Halloween would be hitting Shudder on October 3, ending speculation over which direction the franchise would...

'V/H/S' Cult-Horror Franchise Sets New Halloween-Themed Sequel
Image
Fans of the V/H/S franchise, we have got some great news for you. In what has become an annual tradition, this year we're getting another V/H/S movie. On October 3, 2025, Shudder subscribers will get the chance to stream V/H/S/Halloween, the latest installment in the found footage horror franchise created by Brad Miska in 2012.

Per the announcement by Variety, the film will be streaming exclusively on Shudder, and will feature segments directed by filmmakers from all sides of the horror spectrum:

Bryan M. Ferguson (Pumpkin Guts) Casper Kelly Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman (Cosmetic) Alex Ross Perry Paco Plaza Anna Zlokovic (Appendage)

There are still no details about the segments. All we can assume from the title is that they will revolve around the festivities of Halloween. To date, none of the V/H/S entries have centered around a holiday. Themes have included a specific year in which the segments take place, and then last year,...

‘V/H/S/Halloween’ to Deliver New Found Footage Frights This October
Image
The V/H/S franchise is returning this autumn with a new holiday-themed entry. As reported by Variety, Shudder has officially announced V/H/S/Halloween, the eighth instalment in the found footage anthology series, which will debut on the platform on 3 October.

Continuing the franchise’s legacy of mixing new and established voices in horror, V/H/S/Halloween will feature segments directed by Paco Plaza, Alex Ross Perry, and Appendage director Anna Zlokovic. The line-up also includes Bryan M. Ferguson, Micheline Pitt-Norman and R.H. Norman, along with cult favourite Casper Kelly, best known for Too Many Cooks and Adult Swim Yule Log.

The V/H/S series began in 2012 and quickly gained traction for its inventive format, where disparate filmmakers contribute short found-footage stories linked by a shared framing device. Each film has evolved the concept while preserving its DIY horror aesthetic. Previous entries include year-themed instalments such as V/H/S/99, V/H/S/85 and last year’s sci-fi-leaning V/H/S/Beyond,...

It will feature segments directed by Bryan M. Ferguson (Pumpkin Guts), Casper Kelly (Too Many Cooks), Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman (Grummy), Alex Ross Perry (Her Smell), Paco Plaza (Rec), and Anna Zlokovic (Appendage).

The series launched in 2012 with V/H/S, followed by 2013’s V/H/S/2, 2014’s V/H/S: Viral, 2021’s V/H/S/94, 2022’s V/H/S/99, 2023’s V/H/S/85, and 2024’s V/H/S/Beyond. Two spin-off films, 2016’s Siren and 2022’s Kids vs. Aliens, have also been produced.

From The Black Phone To M3GAN, Two Sisters Are Taking Over Modern Horror
Image
The horror fandom is one of the most dedicated and passionate cultural communities in existence, with countless conventions, festivals, and celebrations happening year-round — all connected by the mutual appreciation for frightful films. Some may go so far as to call the horror fandom a "family," but in the case of two of horror's most promising young actors, that description is literal. Madeleine and Violet McGraw are both still in their adolescent years, but have given performances in horror films that some adult actors could only dream of pulling off. Oftentimes, memorable horror performances from children are rooted in the "killer kid" subgenre, but for the McGraw sisters, the young performers both shine as hero protagonists.

In less than a year, horror juggernaut Blumhouse Productions has released two films with Universal Pictures through their first-look deal that contain dynamic performances from young actors. "The Black Phone" and "M3GAN" couldn't be more different tonally or thematically,...
