Variety has been given exclusive access to the trailer for “Reflections in the Dust,” which blends factual interviews with an ominous post-apocalyptic tale. The Australian feature film from 23-year-old Luke Sullivan world premieres at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

The film is “a tragic portrait of loneliness and isolation set on the edge of a mysterious swamp, where a girl and her father – a paranoid schizophrenic clown – are struggling to live,” according to a statement. “As fear, paranoia and anger consume these lost souls, the film sporadically switches between this fictional world and increasingly traumatic real-life interviews, until it reaches a shocking conclusion.”

The film tells its story through “claustrophobic, vivid imagery along with the physical and raw performances of the protagonists and an unsettling soundtrack.”

Petite actress and daredevil Erica Linz is at the center of the film, as both an actress and aerial artist. The 'actor-bat' started off climbing trees in Colorado and trying to fly off roofs with pine branch wings before diving into competitive gymnastics. In 2001 she began a decade-long journey when she joined the live Cirque du Soleil show Myst&#232re, followed by a featured role in K&#193. She continued to perform in live Cirque shows through 2012 when she made her feature film debut in Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away.

Paramount Pictures has debuted two behind-the-scenes featurettes for Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away, the studio's 3D spectacle from director Andrew Adamson and producer James Cameron. The first video showcases Erica Linz, a longtime Cirque performer who plays Mia in the movie, as we go through her daily warm-up routine and see just how limber these artists really are.
