90 Day Fiance viewers put Statler on blast for the way she greeted Dempsey: ‘Pathetic and loathsome’
Image
Statler Riley wasn’t exactly thrilled to see her girlfriend after months apart.

In Monday night’s 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way episode, Statler finally arrived in England to begin a life on the road with her lady love, Dempsey Wilkinson.

While Dempsey hoped for a warm welcome, Statler’s greeting was anything but.

Statler was exhausted from her flight and admitted that her battery was depleted. She didn’t even have enough energy to smile. But Dempsey felt that she deserved at least a little effort on Statler’s part.

Dempsey told Statler, “Even if my battery level was so low, I would still be excited to see you. I would still want to hug you and, you know, smile … but obviously, we’re very different in that respect.”

During a solo confessional, Statler admitted that instead of being excited to see Dempsey and embark on van life,...

Mahdi Al-Saadi and Stevi Savage in 90 Day Fiancé (2014)
90 Day Fiance viewers are not impressed with Nikki Exotika’s singing: ‘She made a fool of herself’
Mahdi Al-Saadi and Stevi Savage in 90 Day Fiancé (2014)
Nikki Exotika may have received stellar reviews from her fiance, Justin, and his family for her singing, but 90 Day Fiance viewers think she deserved to have tomatoes tossed her way.

In Sunday’s episode, Nikki and Justin (real name Igor Shutencov) celebrated their engagement on her last night in Moldova.

During dinner, some of Justin’s friends put Nikki on the spot, pushing her to take the stage and show off her musical talent.

Nikki obliged, although she was admittedly nervous and didn’t want to sing her song, Your Body, but she caved under the pressure.

Nikki grabbed her microphone and began to sing, much to the delight of Justin’s family members and friends, who danced and cheered her on.

Following the episode, however, 90 Day Fiance viewers took to X (formerly Twitter), where they offered their take on Nikki’s performance, and the consensus was that...

Film Review: Dora-heita (2000) by Kon Ichikawa
Image
With so many great Japanese directors who made a name for themselves, it is always interesting to see some collaborate. One of the most interesting collaborative efforts was the company “Yonki-no-Kai,” which translates to the “Club of the Four Knights,” established in 1969 by filmmakers Akira Kurosawa, Keisuke Kinoshita, Masaki Kobayashi, and Kon Ichikawa. The group of friends put together this effort to support one another, as the film industry in Japan at the time was in a state of financial hardships. Yet, things did not go according to plan with Kurosawa’s film “Dodes’ka-den,” being a box-office failure, leading to many projects being shelved. The four wrote a jidaigeki feature that would go unmade for a long-time when they couldn’t raise funds to make it. Years later, following the passing of his companions, Ichikawa would eventually be able to direct this initially canceled feature while...
