The word chateau is French for “house.” Given that, we can be certain the new horror film from Quiver Distribution is some kind of haunted house movie. The only question is…what kind? James (female) is a social media influencer always looking for the perfect stunt to amass the masses. So when she’s bopping around France and hears about an opening to clean a chateau the locals claim is Haunted, well…she’d be nuts Not to apply for the position. Bringing her cameras and a friend to hold said cameras, James begins to document her adventure cleaning the spooky old mansion. It doesn’t take her long to encounter real ghosts…ghosts that seem to crave attention too. The trailer and screenshots seem to point to Chateau being a found footage movie; all shots are coming from James’s phone, GoPro and other cheap devices. It hasn’t been confirmed at this time,...

"Do you want us here?" Quiver Distribution has posted the trailer for an indie horror called Chateau, the second feature from filmmaker Luke Genton. This first premiered at the 2024 Popcorn Frights Film Festival this year and will be out on VOD to watch at home in December. "Vacation is all about escape." While on a French vacation funded by odd jobs, an aspiring influencer covertly films a vlog in a reportedly haunted chateau she's been hired to clean. This found footage horror follows two influencer idiots getting a real scare when they discover this chateau is actually, really haunted. Starring Cathy Marks and Coltron Tran as the main duo. This isn't a particularity original concept - there's also Deadstream which this film seems to be borrowing from, not to mention Rob Savage's Dashcam, and other horror that is about people going into a haunted house that they think isn't...

Director Aaron Fradkin explores the enduring, grisly horrors lurking within the bowels of a New England home via an experimental triptych. Co-written with Victoria Fratz, Beezel begins with an appropriately gnarly child death in the ’60s, shot on Super 8, kicking off three different experiences with witchy terror stretched over six decades. When the opening scene ended with a pretty cool and gory death, in what was a traditional but fun slasher film build-up, my hopes were kind of high. It feels like we have had very few new slasher movie villains to get excited about. Of course, Michael Myers, Chucky, Ghostface and more are still going strong but other than Art the Clown in the Terrifier franchise, no one seems to have lasted for more than one movie in more recent times. So when Randy Couture is standing tall as Hank, giant axe in hand, things were looking up. But the movie doesn’t quite pan out the way I was expecting.
The Bell Keeper follows a group of friends, including two brothers, who travel to a campsite at Lake Bell.

The Bell Keeper opens on a reasonably strong note for what appears to be an indie slasher. An axe-wielding figure, we’ll later find out his name is Hank, dispatches a pair of victims and adds their driver’s licenses to the collection on his cabin wall. The only as to why, “You shouldn’t have rung the bell”.
This happens at Lake Bell which, as the newspaper headlines under the credits tell us, has a long and evil reputation that includes lots of brutal deaths and mysterious disappearances. So of course filmmakers Gabriel, and Matthew want to make a documentary about it.
So they, along with their girlfriends Megan, Holly, and Liam Matt’s little brother who happens to own a camper,...
