The Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, which reportedly has "New Sunnydale" as its working title, has started shooting in Los Angeles. With that comes what appears to be a first look at Star Wars: Skeleton Crew star Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the show's new lead slayer.
There have been some grumblings about the 15-year-old Armstrong being a little too young for this role, and she definitely looks like a high schooler here. However, it's worth noting that in the original series, Buffy Summers was also only meant to be 16, though Gellar was 20 at the time.
Sarah Michelle Gellar is reprising her role as Buffy in the series, which added Rakotohavana (Secret Society of Second Born Royals) as Hugo, Ava Jean (Law & Order: Svu) as Larkin, Sarah Bock (Severance) as Gracie, Daniel di Tomasso (Witches of East End) as Abe, and Jack Cutmore-Scott (Oppenheimer) as Mr. Burke earlier this week.

According to Jeff Sneider, Chase Sui Wonders (I Know What You Did Last Summer) is set to join Hulu’s upcoming reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As you might expect, details on her character are being kept under wraps, but Sneider hears she will guest star in the pilot.
The reboot series will star Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the new young slayer, but the series will also see the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers. “From the moment I saw Ryan’s audition, I knew there was only one girl that I wanted by my side,” said Gellar of Armstrong’s casting. “To have that kind of emotional intelligence, and talent, at such a young age is truly a gift. The bonus is that her smile lights up even the darkest room.“

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Kiera Armstrong are slaying a new workout routine. Taking to social media, Gellar shared a video of the pair going through the motions and raising their heartbeats in preparation for the revamped Buffy the Vampire Slayer project that will see the former reprise her role as Buffy Summers and the latter take on the role of the new slayer in town. Sharing the pair as they snapped some familiar fighting poses and did copious amounts of weight training, Gellar wrote in her caption:

Sarah Michelle Gellar is already jumping into action with the new generation of vampire slayers as the upcoming Buffy series moves forward. Instead of a full reboot, this new show acts more like a sequel, following a fresh group of demon fighters led by Ryan Kiera Armstrong, known for her role in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
The new Buffy series hasn’t officially been picked up yet but has received a pilot order from Hulu. It’s set to be directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao. The story will focus on Armstrong’s character, tentatively named Nova, while Buffy Summers, Gellar’s iconic role, will serve as a mentor. This makes sense since at the end of the original Buffy series, season 7, many new slayers got their powers, opening the door for this new chapter.

The Buffyverse is officially coming back to life. Hulu’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot is moving full steam ahead, as another casting announcement has just dropped. This new chapter will see Buffy Summers pass the baton stake to a fresh Slayer, Nova, to be played by Firestarter star Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Like Buffy before her, Nova will juggle slaying the undead with the far scarier world of teenage crushes. And now, we know who her first love interest will be. According to Deadline, Kingston Vernes has joined the cast in a guest role, with the possibility of becoming a series regular if the show gets the green light. He joins a growing roster of allies, Nova’s very own Scooby Gang, revealed just last week.

The new series will star Ryan Kiera Armstrong as a new Slayer while Gellar is set to return as Buffy, presumably as a mentor of sorts for Armstrong’s character. Official plot details are still being kept secret but more cast members have joined the project.

The reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer seems to have rounded out its regular cast members, but the news is not exactly what fans really want to know about the new series reviving the 90s series.
Previously, it was announced that Gellar would be returning to her role as Buffy Summers and will be playing a mentor to the next generation of slayer, who will be played by Star Wars actress Ryan Kiera Armstong. The latest round of casting has added Severance star Sarah Bock as Gracie, Law & Order: SUV’s Ava Jean as Larkin, and Raven’s Home actor Faly Rakotohavana as Hugo, seemingly making up the new “Scooby Gang.”
The regular cast is rounded out by Jack Cutmore-Scott, who recently played Kelsey Grammer’s son in Frasier, as Mr. Burke – a possible replacement for Anthony Stewart Head’s Giles – and Daniel di Tomasso as a character called Abe. While...

Could this be the official last call for Frasier? While the sitcom reboot was canceled by Paramount+ after two seasons earlier this year, series star Kelsey Grammer announced plans to shop the series around to other networks and streamers to find a new home for season 3. However, that was months ago and there still isn't word on Frasier getting a second chance.
Most recently, TV Line shared that "there is still nothing to report" after over six months and counting since Frasier got the boot from Paramount+. To make the chances of the revival's revival even worse, the sitcom's stars are starting to move on, with one of them landing a major role in the potential Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot series that's in the works at Hulu.

The pilot was first reported to be in the works back in February. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources previously said the pilot will focus on a new slayer (Armstrong) with Gellar returning as Buffy.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the CSI: Vegas Season 3 premiere “The Reaper.”] Is Josh Folsom (Matt Lauria) a murderer? That’s the question CSI: Vegas left fans with between seasons and one that the rest of the Crime Lab must ask in the premiere. Not only do we find out what happened the night Josh learned he had his mother’s killer in front of him, but we also get a tease of a major storyline for Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) for the season. Allie (Mandeep Dhillon) thinks Josh is covering for Trey (Daniel Di Tomasso), and when the other man ends up in custody as well, after crashing the car of a drug lord, Rafael (Benito Martinez), into his own stash house (in the back of a frozen yogurt shop), the best friends do try to protect one another. The truth is, both left and while Khan’s body shows signs of torture and being bound (twice!

As Season 3 of CBS’ CSI: Vegas opens this Sunday night, Max asks for a little one-on-one time with murder suspect Josh, before surrendering him to the cops proper — though she may not like what her colleague has to say.
In last May’s finale, Josh (played by Matt Lauria) was dead set on revenge after learning that his mother Jeanette (Lolita Davidovich) had been killed after a drug run. Forced off the case by Max (Paula Newsome), Josh went rogue and sprung his childhood Bff Trey (Daniel di Tomasso) from jail, and the two kidnapped a man named Kahn Schefter...

‘CSI: Vegas’ First Look! Plus, Josh’s ‘Difficult Position’ Tests ‘Follow the Evidence’ Credo (Photo)
The CSIs may be facing their biggest challenge yet on the CBS sequel series when it returns: figuring out just what happened the night that one of their own, Josh Folsom (Matt Lauria), was arrested for the murder of the man who killed his mother. Well, it’s a good thing they follow the evidence, like the fingerprint you can see on the glass and blood next to it in TV Insider’s exclusive first look at the new art for CSI: Vegas Season 3 (full version below). But that’s easier said than done in the February 18 premiere. Josh being behind bars, as a suspect in the aforementioned murder, will “weigh on him heavily,” CSI: Vegas showrunner Jason Tracey tells us. “He’s in a difficult position because he’s not sure about the culpability of his friend and foster brother Trey [Daniel Di Tomasso], and so he’s keeping...

When CSI: Vegas Season 2 ended, one of the Crime Lab’s own was in cuffs. But what exactly did he do? While we wait for Season 3 (a premiere date for which is unknown due to the writers and actors strikes), that’s what we can’t stop wondering. In the finale, Josh (Matt Lauria) learned his mother (Lolita Davidovich) was murdered, and along with Trey (Daniel Di Tomasso), ran his own investigation that got a little out of hand. At one point, he tricked Kahn Schefter (Shane Callahan), who he thought only knew who killed Jeanette into thinking he was bleeding out (using blood bags — it’s helpful to be a CSI). But then, it turned out, Kahn was the person who killed Josh’s mother … and the team found him dead near the end of the episode. Max (Paula Newsome) and Serena (Ariana Guerra) then found Josh. “Why?” Max asked,...

The following contains major spoilers for CSI: Vegas Season 2, Episode 21, "Dying Words," which debuted Thursday, May 18 on CBS.
After two seasons, CSI: Vegas has established itself as a worthy continuation of the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The reason it's been able to live up to -- and sometimes do better than -- its predecessor is because of its emphasis on character. The show isn't a typical case of the week-style procedural; there's a greater importance placed on how the investigations affect the team, and the different ways they interact with each other.
Season 2 has further developed the various personalities in and around the crime lab. And while there have been challenges for several characters, none of them have seemed insurmountable -- not even the Silver Ink serial killer who dominated half the season. That changed in CSI: Vegas Season 2, Episode 21, "Dying Words." The Season 2 finale centered on the murder...

The second season of CSI: Vegas started very promisingly for Josh Folsom, but the end is poised to be his worst nightmare. In Season 2's penultimate episode, "Shell Game," Folsom discovered that his mother, Jeanette, was in serious trouble. The season finale, "Dying Words," will resolve that mystery -- and force Folsom to make some incredibly difficult choices.
Ahead of the episode, Matt Lauria spoke with Cbr to discuss why "Dying Words" is more than a procedural backstory episode. As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to alter people’s holiday celebrations, many people are finding that watching holiday films is one tradition that can continue. While there has been no meaningful change in the percentage of speaking characters with disabilities in these top-grossing films in the past five years with just 2.3 percent of the 4,451 characters analyzed in the 100 top-grossing films of 2019 by the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism having a disability, several holiday films are bucking this trend. And for the one-in-four people in the U.S. who have a disability, that means there are more opportunities to see ourselves reflected on screen.

"Do you know what a 'cliche' is...? It's a story so fine... that it's grown old in its hopeful retelling." Sony Classics has debuted the first official trailer for French Exit, a devious dark comedy from filmmaker Azazel Jacobs that premiered as the Closing Night Film at this year's New York Film Festival. An aging Manhattan socialite living on what's barely left of her inheritance from her rich husband moves to her empty apartment in Paris with her son and cat. That's about it, there's not much more to the plot than that. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Frances Price, with Lucas Hedges, Valerie Mahaffey, Imogen Poots, Susan Coyne, Danielle Macdonald, Isaach De Bankolé, Daniel di Tomasso, and Tracy Letts as the voice of her husband (as the cat). I was hoping this might be amusing, but it just looks awful - so pretentious and snobby. Who wants to watch someone...

What’s a romantic holiday TV movie without a big kiss, whether it’s under the mistletoe, in the snow or by the fire? Not as merry, that’s for sure. That’s why Lifetime began to troubleshoot the actors-kissing-during-a-pandemic conundrum it was facing while shooting its annual slate of small-screen Christmas films, which total 30 projects this year.
“Everybody was incredibly concerned about, as we were figuring it out, making sure that we were following the best possible guidelines to keep people safe,” Amy Winter, head of programming at Lifetime, told TheWrap. “We all sat down, even before we got started, saying, how is anybody even going to kiss in these movies, given the circumstances? And the greatest, oddest solution I’ve seen so far is people kissing through plexiglass that can be removed in post, which is absolutely phenomenal.”

Sony Pictures Classics has scheduled Azazel Jacobs’ drama French Exit for a Feb. 21, 2021 release in time for Oscars.
The pic, which stars Oscar nominees Michelle Pfeiffer and Lucas Hedges, is making its world premiere as the Closing Night feature at the 2020 New York Film Festival.
Directed by Jacobs and written by award-winning novelist Patrick deWitt, based on the author’s international bestseller, French Exit follows an aging Manhattan socialite living on what’s barely left of her inheritance, who moves to a small apartment in Paris with her directionless son and cat, Small Frank. The feline may or may not embody the spirit of Frances’ dead husband (played by Tony Award winner Trace Letts).
Danielle Macdonald, Valerie Mahaffey, Daniel di Tomasso, Susan Coyne, Imogen Poots, and Isaach de Bankolé also star. French Exit, the novel, was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize.
