Welcome to this review of 2023’s All Out pay-per-view, which once again emanated from Chicago and in particular the Now Arena. And we all know Chicago crowds can appreciate a good pay-per-view and this was a good pay-per-view! The pay-per-view kicked off with the usual Zero Hour, which saw The Acclaimed beat The Iron Savages; Hologram Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara defeat The Premier Athletes; The Bang Bang Gang beat The Dark Order; and Undisputed Kingdom steal the win in a three-way trios match. This week’s episode of Aew: Dynamite marks the return of Aew’s special Fyter Fest programming. This episode was broadcast live from the Gas South Arena in Duluth and saw Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz on commentary for tonight’s event. Let’s get into the review!

It’s a great time to be a professional wrestling fan. With so much content out there, it is hard to follow everything. But All Elite Wrestling should be celebrating this week because they will host the upcoming second “All In” professional wrestling pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium. With record-breaking ticket sales, it looks like fans are really looking forward to this event.

“All In” will occur on August 27, 2023, at Wembley Stadium in London, England. This will mark Aew’s debut in the United Kingdom, their first PPV event outside North America. All In will mark the first professional wrestling event to be held at present-day Wembley Stadium, with the stadium itself promoting it as part of the 100th anniversary of Wembley.

Wardlow and Luchasaurus tied up in the center of the ring. They traded shoulder blocks until Wardlow dropkicked Luchasaurus. Christian Cage whispered in Luchasaurus’ ear outside the ring. Wardlow followed in pursuit but Christian crawled under the ring, trying to find a place to hide. Christian provided just enough of a distraction to allow for Luchasaurus to blast Wardlow with a big boot. Wardlow hoisted up Luchasaurus on his shoulders and then planted him backwards. Wardlow steamrolled Luchasaurus with a lariat.

After being out of action for 10 months, Cm Punk will make his anticipated return this Saturday during the inaugural episode of Aew: Collision, set in his hometown of Chicago.

The two-hour show, airing at 8/7c on TNT, will feature Punk teaming up with Ftr (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to take on Samoa Joe, Jay White and Juice Robinson. Plus, Punk will take the mic to speak for the first time on Aew television since relinquishing his World Championship following a backstage brawl after the All Out pay-per-view back in September 2022.

Both teams began brawling at the start of the match. Ricky whipped Robinson into the guardrail. Spears pulled Jay White off the apron and to the floor. Spears hammered Juice with shots. Jay White distracted Spears and then Juice wiped out Spears with an axe kick. Jay White grabbed Spears and planted him hard on the edge of the ring. White and Robinson isolated Shawn Spears in their corner, with Jay White laying in the heavy leather. Jay White cut off Spears’ comeback attempt. Spears turned things around with a suplex on Jay White.

Both teams brawled to start the match! Toni and Jamie paired up, while Britt and Ruby slugged it out. Hayter hit a double shoulder tackle on Soho and Storm. Hayter double suplexed them! Saraya grabbed Hayter’s ankle. Storm tried for a Ddt on the outside but Hayter pumped the brakes. Back in the ring, Storm blasted Jamie with a forearm and followed up with a hip attack. Baker attempted a Panama Sunrise but it was countered. Soho used a back heel trip on Baker on the floor.

My Thoughts: Pat Buck, back in the ring? Yes, the man who’s spent most of the recent years behind the scenes in both Aew and previously WWE, gets in front of the camera for a match against Bullet Club Gold’s Juice Robinson and big things were, honestly, expected. Yet whilst it was a solid match it didn’t set the world on fire. Great opener for Dark though!

Match #1: Sammy Guevera def. Konesuke Takeshita

My Thoughts: When Sammy Guevara isn’t messing around with the Jsa or p*ssing off fans with over-the-top affection to his wife Tay Melo on TV he Can actually wrestle. And thankfully that’s what happened here, as Gueara and Takeshita really delivered a great opening match. I wouldn’t have had Takeshita lose, but as other have noted – he probably lost to push the Don Callis angle. Which I guess I can live with, if it means Takeshita gets to the next level in Aew.

My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: House of Black (Brodie King and Malakai Black) def.

My Thoughts: This is Easily the best match Juice Robinson has had in Aew so far. Leon Ruffin was a great opponent and a brilliant foil for Robinson, who needed the win to build his rep in the company, especially considering his antics on Aew’s main show(s) last week.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5 Match #2: Kiera Hogan def. Leila Grey

My Thoughts: An interesting match-up, with a former baddie taking on a current baddie in what could be a new feud in Aew, one that would allow the Jade Cargill hype-train to continue but allow for “camp” to take loses whilst building up possible opponents to dethrone Cargill.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #3: The Iron Savages def.

My Thoughts: Well this was an interesting surprise. I expected a squash but no, Rose and Shafir let their opponents put some work in and this came off as more competitive than even the patented Aew “quasi-squash”. Great start to this week’s show!

My Thoughts: Now This was a squash match! Everything Rob McKnight tried to do was totally no-sold by Cage, who eventually trapped McKnight in the King Kong Clutch for the win.

Juice backed the champion into the ropes. Juice grappled Darby to the mat. Darby grabbed a side headlock on Juice, bringing Juice to the mat. Juice sat out with a senton but Darby lifted his knees into Juice’s spine. Juice hoisted up Darby, sending him crashing to the arena floor. Juice whipped Darby into the security railing. Juice rammed Darby into the steel ring steps. Darby fired back with a John Woo dropkick and then a tope suicida to Juice!

My Thoughts: Juice Robinson makes another appearance for Aew and faces some decent competition in Travis Williams. This was a well-paced, competitive, start to Dark.

My Thoughts: The new team of Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale get another outing, this time against the heel team of Emi Sakura & Diamante, who have worked together before and delivered each and every time. And the same is the case here, with Soho and Nightgale really gelling – I’d definitely like to see them stay together as a team for a while longer even though I’d like to see Willow Nightingale make her way up the singles scene too.

My Thoughts: Roh stalwarts The Kingdom get a pre-ppv warm-up match. Well, I say warm-up match but you can’t really warm anything up when you’re squashing your opponents in a quick match, can you? I don’t know what it is about The Kingdom but the team really doesn’t resonate with me at all… Though Nerdly’s Kev is a big fan, so there’s that!

Several of All Elite Wrestling's top stars will appear on Roh's Final Battle on December 10. It has traditionally been Ring Of Honor's biggest pay-per-view of the season, where the biggest matches and blow-offs happen ahead of the new year. Tony Khan has done his best to build this card, and following the success of the previous two pay-per-views, the feeling is that they are playing with house money. So, how much cash will wrestling fans need to fork over to watch the likes of Chris Jericho, Ftr, and Samoa Joe?

Earlier this week, an Roh press release confirmed that Final Battle would cost 39.99. This Ring Of Honor show costs considerably less than the Aew pay-per-views but is in line with the price that Khan has used throughout 2022. Fans wanting to tune in live can catch the pay-per-view the same way they'd watch an Aew PPV: via the Bleacher Report app and website.

Before Frankie Kazarian challenges Mike Bailey for the X-Division Title tomorrow night at Bound For Glory, he must get through the man he pinned to become #1 Contender, Kenny King! Kazarian counters an early Royal Flush attempt into a strong clothesline. King avoids a leg drop on the apron, then hits a slingshot crossbody to the outside. Kazarian turns the tide with a belly-to-belly suplex into the corner turnbuckles. Kazarian hits the springboard leg drop for two. King drives him face-first into the turnbuckle, then connects with a T-Bone suplex out of the corner. King almost puts Kazarian away with the Tiger Driver but it’s still not enough.
