There are a few shows or movies that set a standard and a template for a whole genre. HBO’s 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers not only did that for war dramas but also launched and boosted many acting careers. The series, created by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, presented real-life events of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division throughout World War II.

The ensemble cast of Band of Brothers is one of the main reasons people still remember the show. Apart from playing the roles of soldiers, actors like Scott Grimes as Donald Malarkey, Kirk Acevedo as Joe Toye, and Damian Lewis as Richard Winters made the audience empathize with their losses and wins and connect with their camaraderie. Dermot Mulroney has joined the cast of the upcoming indie horror-thriller “Dead of Night.”

At the same time, it was announced that Scott Grimes, Julianne Arrieta and Kirrilee Berger have also signed on for the movie.

The film is directed by Derek Sulek and produced by Sulek, Oren Kamara and Dan Sheldon, with Jijo Reed serving as co-producer. Executive producers include Grimes, Ann Koch, Doug Johnson and Matthew Ballard. The script was penned by Eric Durham and Sulek, with production currently underway in Los Angeles under Fade to Black Films.

Exclusive: Jodie Sweetin (Full House), Tilky Jones (The Guardian), George Wendt (Cheers) and Alexander James Rodriguez (Replica) will star in the romantic drama Love’s Second Act from director Sam Irvin, which is filming in Los Angeles this month.

The film follows Jamie Leoni (Sweetin), a struggling filmmaker in Hollywood, who is faced with an ultimatum when her producer tells her that her pitch has been sold, but she only has one week to deliver the script. Having practically grown up in her hometown movie theater, she hopes to find inspiration to write the screenplay there. But upon returning, she finds Nick (Jones), her old boyfriend who broke her heart, and now owns the theater. While Nick is dealing with trying to prevent his father from selling the theater, Jamie discovers she is falling for him all over again.
