‘Perfect Days’ Star Yakusho Koji to Receive Asian Film Awards Lifetime Achievement Honor – Global Bulletin

Veteran Japanese actor Yakusho Koji will be feted with the prestigious lifetime achievement honor at the 18th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong. Yakusho, who won best actor at Cannes in 2023 for Wim Wenders‘ “Perfect Days,” becomes the third Japanese recipient of the Afa’s highest accolade, following director Yamada Yoji (2008) and actress Kiki Kirin (2016).

A former civil servant who first ventured into Taiga drama (long-running TV series broadcast by Nhk), then played in several films by Kurosawa Akira, Yakusho became a major 1990s star in Asia as a result of “Shall We Dance?,” in which he portrayed a ball room dancer, and “Lost Paradise.” He also starred in Itami Juzo’s “Tampopo.”

A Sudipto Sarkar directorial, this police-drama thriller is set in UK, the trailer of which is now out.

The film also stars, Ankur Bhatia, Vedieka Dutt, Hritiqa Chheber, Sneha Singh, and Anjali Sharma. Revolving around a police detective in London Met police, who in his illustrious career, the only case that he could not solve was “Operation Mayfair”; about a mysterious serial killer which looks quite promising.

India’s Amit Sadh on Second Seasons of Prime Video’s ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows,’ ZEE5’s ‘Duranga’

India’s Amit Sadh is a busy actor these days with a streaming series due imminently, another in the works and two feature films.

Season 2 of psychological thriller “Breathe: Into the Shadows,” created by Mayank Sharma and produced by Abundantia Entertainment for Amazon Prime Video, sees Sadh’s police officer on the trail of an antagonist with an alter ego, played by Abhishek Bachchan. The series, a spin-off from 2018 series “Breathe,” which also featured Sadh’s character, continues where the first season left off.
