Married At First Sight season 18's first promo has finally dropped, and Dr. Pia Holec is teasing the unprecedented drama that will certainly take over the conversation about the season in the teaser trailer.

In the teaser (via Page Six), Dr. Pia explains that "Infidelity between two couples is unprecedented in Married at First Sight history," before the rest of the teaser draws out the drama between two of the couples in the newest season. 'Married at First Sight Season 18 Needs To Focus on This for Success
Image
Married at First Sight (Mafs) has been a Lifetime staple for fourteen years. The social experiment of matching compatible singles with other singles based on the characteristics and traits they value the most resonated with viewers with a penchant for dating and relationship shows. The couples were selected by a group of experts including clinical psychologist Dr. Joseph Cilona, sexologist Dr. Logan Levkoff, sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and humanist chaplain Greg Epstein. After three seasons, Dr. Pepper stayed on board and was joined by Pastor and marriage counselor Calvin Roberson and relationship expert Rachel DeAlto. The Mafs audience found the experts on the reality series trustworthy and reliable. They looked like people committed to their craft of helping people, as opposed to some of the other dating reality shows with therapists who looked and behaved more like social influencers.

Married At First Sight Season 18 Premiere Date Leaks Amid Major Red Flags
Image
Brand-new spoilers revealed the Married At First Sight season 18 premiere date. This comes at an important time for the Lifetime reality dating series. Married At First Sight season 17 was a disaster. Out of the five featured couples, only Becca Haley and Austin Reed said yes on Decision Day, but then their relationship quickly fell apart after she accused him of lying to her. Michael Shiakallis and Chloe Brown had a split decision, with the latter wanting to stay married and the former ending the relationship. Every other couple chose to get divorced on Decision Day.

According to fan account @mafsfan, which claimed to have "insider information," the Married At First Sight season 18 premiere date is scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, though Lifetime has not made it official just yet. An October return, if confirmed by the network, makes sense and is in line with the timeframe for Married At First Sight...

Everything We Know About Dr. Pepper Schwartz From Married At First Sight
Image
Dr. Pepper Schwartz has arranged dozens of blind marriages over the years on Married At First Sight, but the relationship expert's personal life isn't as privy to the cameras as the participants of Lifetime's social experiment. Since its first season in 2014, Married At First Sight has introduced viewers to over a hundred men and women who are not only tired of living single but ready to solve their issues by getting married to a complete stranger. Naturally, while the idea may sound good in theory, it's only a matter of time until the couples of each Married At First Sight season find themselves in some serious conflict; however, a few matches like Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner continue to stand the test of time in 2023.

Despite the series' low success rate, Pepper and Pastor Calvin Roberson returned to television in January with the premiere of Married At First Sight season 16. Set in Nashville,...

The Dove Self-Esteem Project And Shonda Rhimes Team Up To Launch Girl Collective
From a young age, outside voices such as school dress codes and harsh comments from peer groups influence how girls feel about their appearance.

Shonda Rhimes participated in a panel with powerful young women

While girls today are strong and resilient, these comments still have a negative impact on her self-esteem and make her less likely to participate in things like trying out for sports or raising her hand in class. It’s time for her to hear something different. Dove and Shonda Rhimes have teamed up to launch the Girl Collective, a multigenerational sisterhood created to build confidence and challenge beauty stereotypes through honest, authentic and practical conversations shared between women and girls. The Girl Collective is powered by the Dove Self Esteem Project which has been hosting self-esteem workshops in schools and providing at-home self-esteem materials and exercises since 2004. Now, with the Girl Collective, these self-esteem experiences from...

A Look Back at Married at First Sight's Jamie & Doug's Sweet Love Story
Jamie Otis in Married at First Sight (2014)
Truth: Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner’s enduring marriage is proof that getting married within minutes of meeting is a sure-fire way to live happily ever after.

Okay, so that might not work for everyone, but it did do the trick for the expectant pair who wed on Married at First Sight back in 2014.

Since then, the couple has been through blissful times — as noted in their vow renewal ceremony in 2015 — and difficult moments, as evidenced in July 2016, when the pair announced they had experienced a loss after confirming their pregnancy news only a few months earlier.

Now, Jamie and...

Married at First Sight (2014)
After news broke last week that Married at First Sight's Jessica Castro had filed a restraining order against her husband Ryan De Nino, both fans and critics of the show questioned its "matching" process.

Addressing rumors that producers and the show's four experts haphazardly threw together couples for season 2, executive producer Chris Coelen reveals exclusively to People exactly how the men and women are paired together for A&E's hit social experiment show.

Over a period of six months, an "advanced casting team" is sent to a specific geographic area (the first two seasons were focused on the tri-state area,...

Tmi? Married at First Sight's Davina Kullar Sucks Her Own Toe During Intimacy Game
Married at First Sight (2014)
Thus far on Married at First Sight, Sean Varricchio and Davina Kullar have had a tough time connecting on an intimate level throughout their marriage, but that could all change after some "homework" assigned by the show's sexologist.

In this week's episode, the newlyweds sip on red wine while playing Dr. Logan Levkoff's "fishbowl game" to try and spark intimacy in their relationship.

"If Davina stayed positive Davina and fun Davina at all times, could I see more than a friendship building with her? Yes, I do believe that," says Varricchio in a clip from the episode shared exclusively with People.

Married at First Sight (2014)
Attraction is overrated, says 'Married at First Sight'
Married at First Sight (2014)
If "Married at First Sight"'s second season plays out the way the first season did, it will provide more evidence that initial attraction between couples is overrated at best, and destructive at worst. Yes, finding someone's appearance to be meh might be exactly what you need to for a successful relationship. If you missed its outstanding first season last summer, know that "Married at First Sight" is the kind of reality TV show that actually is "a social experiment."  Its cast members are strangers who get actually, legally married minutes after seeing each other for the first time. They're matched by experts after an incredibly detailed casting process. When you think about it, this is really insane. It's crazier than going on "The Bachelor" or any other show. Of course the wedding and the show are not irreversible or inescapable, but entering into such a public and legal commitment is no reality TV joke.

Married at First Sight’s Resident Sexologist on Season 2 Casting Challenges
Logan Levkoff
Dr. Logan Levkoff bears a heavy responsibility in these coming months. Along with her three onscreen colleagues — psychologist Dr. Joseph Cilona, sociology professor Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and spiritual advisor Greg Epstein — the New York–based sex educator will be pairing arranged couples for the second season of Married at First Sight, Fyi Network’s first legitimate hit. Lest you missed Married’s inaugural experiment, which wrapped up last week and will reconvene its subjects for the requisite reunion special tonight at 9 p.m., here’s our handy overview of how three pairs of strangers turned newlyweds lived happily (or not so much) ever after. Vulture called up Dr. Levkoff to discuss how the provocative series can maintain its integrity going into season two, what they’re looking for as they set about selecting the cast, and why a show that Dr. Levkoff herself describes as “definitely not The Bachelor” featured a former Bachelor contestant.

37 Observations About Season 1 of Married at First Sight
Dr. Joe Cilona
If you’ve missed Married at First Sight these past couple months, you’ll be enthused to know the groundbreaking reality show is currently casting its second season. Or you should be, at least, because the news means you have plenty of time to catch up before season two begins. The Fyi Network’s (formerly Bio) standout original docuseries debuted in July and wrapped up its inaugural experiment last night. When the nuptials settled, two of three couples who were blindly matched and married by four experts — psychologist Dr. Joseph Cilona, sociology professor Dr. Pepper Schwartz (who does indeed go by Dr. Pepper), sexuality expert Dr. Logan Levkoff, and leather-jacket-favoring humanist chaplain Greg Epstein — decided to stick with their vows, while one pairing called it a divorce. From the moment our daring participants — Jamie and Doug, Jason and Cortney, and Vaughn and Monet (the latter of whom ultimately parted ways...
