The 2014 FANtastic Horror Film Festival was a great success. The festival featured a plethora of indie horror producers, directors, actors/actresses and much more.

The FANtastic Horror Film Festival held their first annual Awards Ceremony at the Whiskey Girl Bar in city’s the Gaslamp District of San Diego.

The event was Mc’d by actress Katy Foley, whose combination of stand-up wit and humor kept the ceremonies light and lively. After an entertaining performance by Mo “Mesmerizing Mo” Kelly, Foley began the proceedings.

Highlights of the awards ceremony included the award for Best Short Film (Awesome Ouija Board - Tonjia Atomic, Writer/Director), and Best Feature Film (Krampus: the Christmas Devil - Jason Hull, Co-Writer/Director). Also featured were Most Memorable Line (“I want a divorce!” – Bloody Wedding,...

We’re back with another edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes a clip from Alice D, a call for submissions from the London Horror Festival, trailers for Fractured, Too Young to Die, and Ghostline, first details for Imaginapped and Grimmerson Manor, and a Q&A with Jacqui Holland:

First Clip from Alice D: “In the late 1890s the Davenport House was a famous and successful brothel, until a young prostitute named Alice killed herself there. After her death, the brothel became haunted by Alice’s ghost, and was eventually abandoned.

More than a century later, the old structure is renovated into a beautiful mansion. It is still rumored to inhabit the ghost of Alice. Despite this, the new owner; the rich and arrogant heir to the Davenport fortune, decides to throw a wild party for his first night in the house.

Try Not to Hang Up on this Call from Ghostline: First Trailer
This viewer thought the first trailer for Ghostline was satire. However, there are no Wayans brothers here. Instead, Ghostline, from Undaunted Films, is a fairly serious indie horror feature. The film is directed by first time feature film director Dean Whitney. As well, the film stars Rachel Alig (Officer Down), Zack Gold and Burt Culver. And now, horror fans can view the film's haunting trailer below. The story follows a couple, who encounter strange, late night phone calls. An unstable woman is on the other end and Tyler (Gold) and Chelsea (Alig) will have to seek help to rid themselves of this menacing prankster. Ghostline is currently in post-production. It is expected that this film will release in 2014. Fans of indie horror features can preview the madness below. Release Date: 2014. Director/writer: Dean Whitney.
