Michael B. Jordan's 'The Thomas Crown Affair' Casts 'Andor' Star Adria Arjona
Image
After Taylor Russell's surprising departure from Michael B. Jordan's The Thomas Crown Affair due to "creative differences," the film quickly found a replacement. This comes as no surprise, as the film has already entered production, with the need quickly arising for a replacement for Russell. The cast of the highly anticipated remake has been slowly rounded out over the past few months, with the likes of Danai Gurira, Kenneth Branagh, and Lily Gladstone all cast in various roles.

Per Variety, Adria Arjona (Andor) has joined The Thomas Crown Affair reboot. Arjona, a fan-favorite to play the next Wonder Woman, should prove to be an interesting addition, especially since her attachment is so much more last-minute compared to Russell's early involvement during pre-production. Previous reports on the casting process for The Thomas Crown Affair remake detailed what was described as an "extensive" audition process involving various actors for the...

David Corenswet in Superman (2025)
Following the successful launch of Superman, DC Studios is ready to draft Wonder Woman, another member of the comic book studio’s holy trinity, for a brand-new film. According to The Wrap, playwright, actress, and screenwriter Ana Nogueira will pen the warrior princess’s next silver-screen outing.

Ana Nogueira is snapping up one writing gig after the next at DC Studios. She was tapped to pen the upcoming Supergirl film and the planned live-action adaptation of Teen Titans. With two high-profile projects under her belt, Nogueira is significantly helping shape the Gods and Monsters era of DC Studios.

This is in addition to the already-announced HBO series Paradise Island, which will focus on Diana’s homeland of Themyscira. Previously, James Gunn said that, like Supergirl, DC Studios will take a distinct approach to Wonder Woman.

James Gunn Confirms Wonder Woman Is A Priority; Hopes Writers Won't "Take Two Years To Write A Script"
Image
Superman has been performing pretty well at the box office (more so domestically than internationally), and even though the movie still has a long road ahead (it's going to face serious competition from The Fantastic Four: First Steps this weekend), James Gunn's reboot is being viewed internally as a successful launching point for the Dcu.

Gunn has confirmed that he is already working on a follow-up (though it won't be a direct sequel), but a recent report from Variety suggested that Wonder Woman will likely take precedence.

"Although Warner Bros. has sequel options on Corenswet and Brosnahan, a sequel announcement does not appear to be imminent. Instead, sources say the studio is fast-tracking a Wonder Woman movie. And the studio is thrilled with Matt Reeves’ just-submitted screenplay draft for the sequel to The Batman."

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Gunn responded to this report, and while he somewhat...

Alexandra Daddario Looks Perfect as James Gunn's Wonder Woman in Dcu Fan Art
Image
WIth Wonder Woman heading to the Dcu, casting will soon begin to find the perfect person to play the next incarnation of the iconic DC character. Some fans have campaigned for Mayfair Witches star Alexandra Daddario to get the role, and new art shared online makes the case for the casting.

The image was posted on DeviantArt by Minsc93, though it was generated with the use of AI by Grok, the chatbot integrated with the social media platform X. It shows Daddario as she might appear in Wonder Woman garb similar to the outfit worn by Gal Gadot's Diana Prince in the Dceu. More than likely, the character will have a different outfit in the Dcu, though the photo nevertheless gives fans an idea about the potential of putting Daddario in the coveted role.

According to recent reports, Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios are fast-tracking a new Wonder Woman film.

“She was the best one for the role”: James Gunn Addresses ‘Wonder Woman’ Movie Ahead of Next Dcu Release
Image
James Gunn has addressed fans’ concerns regarding the Wonder Woman movie, while clearing the air surrounding the potential casting for the character. Considering it was previously reported that a Wonder Woman movie was being fast-tracked by DC without Gal Gadot at the helm, Gunn, through Threads, clarified that this isn’t entirely true.

Although the movie remains a priority at DC studios, there is no rushing the script, and as for the potential pick for the role, Gunn is adamant about choosing the best person for the job, irrespective of their track record.

Nope. And I’d never in a million years look for a major role based on whether they did TV, films, or whatever. It’s all about the casting. I didn’t cast Milly because of her past, but because she was the best one for the role.

But with the script still yet to be complete,...

Rumor: DC Studios Searching For An Unknown Mediterranean Actress To Play Dcu Wonder Woman
Image
Earlier this week, the news broke that DC Studios is planning to fast-track a new Wonder Woman movie. All this basically means is that they intend to get working on the project sooner rather than later, but there is always a chance it could be the next Dcu film to enter production after Clayface.

We know that a writer is currently working on the script, but if Wonder Woman is now a top priority for Warner Bros./DC, could casting already be underway?

On this week's episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider mentions that he's heard that the studio is looking for an unknown actress to play Diana. He says he's asked around to see if they might want to go an unexpected route by possibly casting someone Black or Latina, and was told it would more than likely be someone of Mediterranean descent - but a Black actress...

Sony Offered 'Morbius' Directing Job to 'Eddington' Director Ari Aster
Image
Once upon a time, not so long ago, Sony Pictures attempted to create a cinematic universe based on Spider-Man, without the web-slinger himself. It went as well as Marvel fans expected, with Morbiusquickly becoming one of the most infamous (and worst) superhero movies of all time. If it wasn't already clear that the studio has in over its head with the idea, they tried to hire one of the most unique filmmakers working today to helm the box office flop.

While on the Mixed Signals podcast, Eddington director Ari Aster revealed that Sony approached him years ago to helm Morbius, which starred Jared Leto. Aster kept things brief and didn't divulge any details, but it is safe to say that the conversations with Sony probably did not get very far. Despite featuring a Spider-Man character and some star talent, Morbius proved to be a disaster for the studio, one that...

New Rumors Hint at Who Could Be the Next Wonder Woman in the DC Universe
Image
DC Studios might be close to finding its new Wonder Woman. According to The Box Office Podcast, Hollywood insider Umberto Gonzalez said that Andor actress Adria Arjona is currently one of the strongest options for the role.

He mentioned that Arjona’s growing career in television and her connections in the industry, including her friendship with Jason Momoa, who plays Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl movie, help her chances.

Gonzalez explained that DC seems to prefer fresh faces from TV shows rather than big movie stars, pointing to David Corenswet moving from television into his new role as Superman.

He also noted that DC might look for someone with a TV background, using Milly Alcock as an example of the type of actress they’re considering.

However, not everyone is fully convinced that Arjona is the right choice. Jeremy Brewster, speaking on the same podcast, suggested that her work on Andor could make things complicated.

New Reports Give Hints Regarding Wonder Woman Actress in the Dcu – Here’s What to Expect

It looks like DC Studios is getting closer to finding its next Wonder Woman, but things are still pretty unclear. The studio seems to be focusing on actresses with strong TV experience, similar to Milly Alcock, who became popular through House of the Dragon.

Gonzalez mentioned that Arjona’s TV background and her connections in Hollywood are working in her favor. He pointed out that her friendship with Jason Momoa, who will reportedly play Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl movie, could help her land the role.

He explained that DC seems to prefer “rising stars” like Arjona, instead...

“I'd never in a million years look for a major role based on whether they did TV, films, or whatever. It's all about the casting. I didn't cast Milly because of her past, but because she was the best one for the role.”.

Turns out, those sizzling Hit Man love scenes weren’t as smooth off-screen as they looked on-screen. Glen Powell and Adria Arjona shot their steamy moments while battling a full-blown skin situation, rashes, makeup coverups, and all.

In a preview clip from their appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Arjona dropped the behind-the-scenes bomb. She recalled how, right before filming the sex scenes, her body broke out in a rash. Powell, ever the gentleman, jumped into crisis mode (per EW). “This will describe Glen really quickly,” Arjona said. “I’m breaking out in a rash and Glen is freaking out for me. Tony Gilroy breaks silence on Andor Emmy snubs
Image
In 2023, Andor's first season received eight Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Drama Series. Despite the Disney+ original series being recognized in many categories—such as writing, directing, cinematography, music, and many others—it didn't walk away with any wins. While even getting nominated at the Emmys is cause for celebration, zero wins was surely a disappointing result after such a well-received show.

In case you've been out of the loop for a while, Andor stars Diego Luna as Cassian Andor. The show takes place in the events leading up to 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which itself occurs immediately before the events of 1977's A New Hope. I know, it's confusing if you're new around here, but that's Star Wars.

Andor's two seasons have been praised by fans and critics alike, as they offer a more nuanced and grounded look into the Star Wars universe—one without...

James Gunn
Warner Bros. is reportedly fast-tracking the new Wonder Woman after Superman success
James Gunn
It may feel like the DC world may hinge on the success of Superman. If the new continuity reboot fell flat on its face, one assumes it could spell doom for the rest of the Dcu, but Warner Bros. was banking on James Gunn after hiring him and Peter Safran to head up their division. Gunn would also manage his expectations and not set himself up for failure when he didn’t set his bar at Avengers-level. Weeks ago, the director said, “Other people may say, ‘It’s gotta be a home run, nothing else.’ I’m like, ‘No, I’d be very happy with a double.’ F*****g Iron Man wasn’t the be-all and end-all. It wasn’t Avatar. We are doing something that’s a piece of the puzzle. It’s not the puzzle itself. We have Peacemaker, we have Supergirl, and what we want to do...

Andor Showrunner Tony Gilroy Addresses Shocking Emmy Snub, Claims "The Ultimate Victory"
Image
Andor's showrunner, Tony Gilroy, has commented on the show's many Emmy snubs, claiming an ultimate victory in light of this. Andor season 2's ending was a monumental moment in the Star Wars franchise. Not only did it end a stellar season of TV, but it culminated the best Star Wars TV show ever made.

Despite how revered the show is, though, some disappointing news about the central performances from Andor season 2's cast has been brought to light recently.

In an interview with Deadline, Gilroy was asked for his thoughts on Andor cast members like Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Elizabeth Dulau, Genevieve O'Reilly, and Adria Arjona being snubbed at this year's Emmys. Gilroy stated, “There are a lot of performances that I wish were recognized," before going on to claim the ultimate victory for the show:

“These aren’t great moment-to-moment [performances]. These are epic, long-term character studies that they’ve done over 24 episodes.

James Gunn Teases Sooner-Than-Expected Returns for Dcu’s Wonder Woman and Batman
Image
With David Corenswet’s Superman now doing great at the box office and Milly Alcock’s Supergirl coming next year, many DC fans are wondering when two other big heroes, Batman and Wonder Woman, will finally show up in the new DC Universe. So far, neither character has been cast in James Gunn’s new Dcu, but there’s been a small update.

Speaking to Urbana Play radio, DC Studios boss James Gunn explained that it all comes down to the writing. He said both scripts are still being worked on, and nothing will move forward until they’re done. Gunn said, “I mean, it’s not going to be until the scripts are ready. So, both the scripts are being written now, and, if they’re good, then we’ll go into production immediately.” He also added, “So it really depends on how we can get the scripts done,...

James Gunn Gives a Promising Update About Dcu’s Wonder Woman and Batman: Could We Get Them Sooner Than We Thought?
Image
With David Corenswet’s Superman doing well in theaters and Milly Alcock’s Supergirl set to arrive next year, DC fans are now waiting for two other major heroes to show up: Batman and Wonder Woman. Neither character has been cast yet in James Gunn’s new DC Universe, but fans are eager to know when they might return.

James Gunn, who is the co-head of DC Studios, gave an update during a chat with Urbana Play radio. He said that the answer depends on how fast the scripts come together. “I mean, it’s not going to be until the scripts are ready. So, both the scripts are being written now, and, if they’re good, then we’ll go into production immediately,” he explained.

Gunn made it clear he’s not rushing the process. “So it really depends on how we can get the scripts done, because the...

‘Andor’ Creator Tony Gilroy on His Emmy Nominations and Overcoming Those Snubs: ‘It’s a Complicated Process’
Image
“I’m trying to come up with a new word word for excited,” “Andor” creator Tony Gilroy said just a few hours after his show, set in the “Star Wars” universe, racked up 14 Emmy nominations. “I know that’s my job, but I’m having trouble coming up with something really, truly original to say.”

“Andor’s” second season, which takes place in the five years that lead up to 2016’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which itself is set directly before the events of 1977’s “Star Wars,” had more nominations than Emmy powerhouses like “The Bear” (also part of the far-reaching Disney galactic republic). This is the final season of “Andor,” and it is very clearly going out on top.

Gilroy himself was nominated two times – for Outstanding Drama Series (as an executive producer of the series) and Original Music and Lyrics (as a songwriter), for “We are...

Splitsville (2025) ‘Kviff’ Movie Review: A Comedic Proof of Polyamorous Dysfunctions
Image
It’s glossy, slightly smug, and packed with styled emotions, echoing the trend of self-consciousness we’ve been cultivating—but “Splitsville” (2025) works, mostly because it doesn’t ask you to believe in the couple, but rather laugh with the confusion. Michael Angelo Covino seems to be working toward a doctorate in infidelity and distraught breakups, letting friendship run alongside and strain under the weight of love’s detritus. Friendships are messy, unfiltered, and strangely durable. Somehow, friendship survives the wreckage romance leaves behind.

Following his soft-edged 2019 comedy “The Climb,” Covino returns with “Splitsville,” this time more polished in framing and photography, and with an upgraded cast (perhaps in step with the pressures of commercial success). But the essence is still there: earnest absurdity wrapped in deftly delivered dialogue and emotional slapstick. “Splitsville” sets out to poke at an ever-expanding question: Can open relationships, as in polyamorous, polygamous, or otherwise, actually...

Andor Star Adria Arjona Suits Up As The Dcu's Wonder Woman In Awesome New Fan Art
Image
While DC Studios announced plans for the Themyscira-set Paradise Lost TV series at the start of 2023, there was no mention of a new Wonder Woman movie. Updates have since been few and far between, though that finally changed last month.

At the time, DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn said, "Wonder Woman's a separate thing, slow moving, but it's moving. We're working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's being written right now."

Andor and Morbius star Adria Arjona has long been a firm fan favourite to play the Dcu's Wonder Woman and responded positively to the idea of playing the Amazon in multiple interviews. "[James Gunn] gave me my first movie ever...my first studio movie," she said, referring to The Belko Experiment. "So I owe him a lot. I love James Gunn...I don’t know."

For what it's worth, Gunn himself hasn't closed the door on casting Arjona as Diana Prince,...

Before Andor, Adria Arjona Starred In An Overlooked Wizard Of Oz Adaptation
Image
Audiences around the world became familiar with Adria Arjona when she appeared as Bix Caleen in the Star Wars series, "Andor." A prequel to "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the series made an instant impact with the debut of its first season in 2022 and exploded in popularity with the recent release of season 2. "Andor" revealed the backstory of Diego Luna's rebel captain, Cassian Andor, and introduced Arjona as his love interest, Bix.

Cassian and Bix grew up together on the planet Ferrix. Season 1 opened after the two had separated and Bix had entered a relationship with her colleague, Timm Karlo (James McArdle), who was eventually killed by Imperials. It was also Bix who first put Cassian in contact with Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård), the mastermind behind the early Rebellion, who started Cassian on his path towards becoming the spy who would help bring down the Death Star.

‘Superman’ Star David Corenswet Reached Out to Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin for Advice, but They Said We’re ‘Not Gonna Try and Give You Any Tips’: ‘Superman’s Not So Much for Giving Advice’
Image
The new Superman has to save the world all on his own.

In a red carpet interview with Heart at the London premiere of James Gunn’s “Superman,” star David Corenswet discussed asking for advice from Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin, who both played the DC icon in “Man of Steel” and “Superman & Lois,” respectively. Although they were “encouraging” to Corenswet, they didn’t want to influence his performance.

“Both of them, interestingly, sort of said in their own words, ‘I’m not gonna try and give you any tips,'” Corenswet explained. “And I think that’s a very Superman thing. Superman’s not so much for giving advice or dictating how other people should be.”

He continued, “They really just conveyed to me an encouragement and a sense of ‘have fun with it’, which I think is Superman’s way of doing it too. They were very encouraging...
