In Cobra Commander #2, Cobra Commander faces monstrous alligators with glowing purple eyes, seemingly mutated by Energon. This new species could be a Beast Wars-style take on the Allicons, from 1986's Transformers: The Movie. The Energon Universe has included plenty of nods to the movie, including the Allicons' rulers, the Quintessons.
Warning: spoilers ahead for Cobra Commander #2!Thanks to the Energon Universe, the worlds of G.I. Joe and Transformers have never been tied more closely together. Both franchises have seen many old characters reimagined in the new continuity, and a classic Transformers faction may have just made their debut in the pages of the recently released Cobra Commander #2.
Coming from the creative team of Joshua Williamson, Andrea Milana, Annalisa Leoni and Rus Wooten, Cobra Commander #2 finds the titular character hunting for Energon in the swamps of Louisana, where he runs afoul of the Dreadnoks Ripper, Buzzer and Zarana.

Gohan and Piccolo have also done an extended run as the main characters during Dragon Ball Super’s Super Hero story arc. Gohan and Piccolo’s recent Beast and Orange transformations make them stronger than ever and on par with Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego strength. Gohan and Piccolo have experience training the next generation of heroes and it’s likely that Goku and Vegeta will soon disappear with God of Destruction and Angel training.

The Marvels actor Teyonah Parris recently revealed that she did not know she was filming the MCU movie's post-credit scene with the X-Men icon Beast.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Parris, who plays Monica Rambeau in the MCU, explained that she had no idea that the doctor in a lab coat she shared the scene with was a stand-in for Beast, who was added during post-production. "I also went wild," the actor said about seeing the finished film's post-credit scene with the X-Men character. "I'm like, 'Wait a minute! That's not who I filmed with!' And I had no clue until it aired. When we filmed it, it was an actor who was very kind, very nice, and he was dressed in a lab coat. He looked like a normal, regular doctor. No one said, 'By the way, this is going to be a little surprise.' I had zero clue.

While The Marvels may not have been the blockbuster sequel that Marvel Studios was hoping for, it did contain one element that had fans talking: a cameo by none other than Beast of the X-Men. The reveal was a big surprise to audiences, even Teyonah Parris, who was actually in the scene but had no idea she would be sharing the screen with the iconic X-Men character.
In The Marvels‘ mid-credits scene, Monica Rambeau (Parris) wakes up in a hospital bed to find an alternate version of her mother as well as X-Men’s Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast. Although the character was a digital creation this time around, he was voiced by Kelsey Grammer, who played the role in X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
While chatting with Et’s Ash Crossan, Parris revealed she was just as surprised as everyone else when Beast appeared on screen.

The Marvels movie was released in November 2023 and didn’t receive a great response from critics and fans alike. It was the third Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie of 2023 after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 were released. The Nia DaCosta directorial stars Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson, Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris, Zawe Ashton, Lashana Lynch, Park Seo-joon, and others.
The superhero film brought together Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and a grown-up Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parrish) after Captain Marvel (2019). Even Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) joins the force to fight against a new space villain, Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton). Despite all of this, The Marvels failed to impress the audience. However, what got everyone’s attention was the post-credits scene.
In The Marvels’ post-credit scene, Monica gets pushed into another universe. She meets her mom, Maria Rambeau, at the hospital.

Sara Grey almost replaced Jean on the X-Men team, offering a fresh perspective and dynamic for the franchise. Chris Claremont believed Sara's potential could have saved the X-Men from the consequences of Jean's resurrection. Resurrecting Jean derailed character development, while Sara's inclusion could have provided a new, interesting direction.
Jean Grey's inclusion on the X-Men during Chris Claremont's classic run almost had her replaced by her forgotten sister, Sara. Debuting in 1980, Sara Grey was Jean's human sister who was hinted at having latent mutant powers that hadn't surfaced yet. Before those powers can manifest, she's killed by anti-mutant fanatics for being a spokesperson for mutant rights in support of her sister.

Fans were shocked by The Marvels' post-credits scene featuring the X-Men, including Teyona Parris, the actress who was surprised as well. Parris filmed with Beast in the scene, not knowing it was a cameo or surprise until she watched it in the theater like everyone else. Marvel kept details of the X-Men's inclusion from Parris, possibly to maintain secrecy until the premiere of The Marvels.
Audiences were shocked when they found out The Marvels' post-credits scene included the first look at the X-Men in the MCU, and they weren't the only ones. In fact, even actor Teyona Parris, who was in the scene with Beast, didn't know that he was going to be in the movie. She found out while watching the movie in the theater, just like everyone else.
According to Parris in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, when she filmed The Marvels' post-credits scene, Beast was simply a normal doctor.

The casting of The Crown’s Emma Corrin in Deadpool & Wolverine’s in a lead role has led to plenty of speculation as to whether they’re playing the film’s villain. Although some thought she’d be playing a variant version of Deadpool to give a twist on Lady Deadpool, others were adamant she’d bring Cassandra Nova to the party. Now, it looks like the latter has been confirmed.
As seen on the US Copyright Office site, Corrin’s character is listed as “Cassandra Nova,” seemingly confirming they’ll be playing the villainous twin sister of Charles Xavier. Introduced in 2001’s New X-Men #114, Cassandra Nova has similar telekinetic and telepathic powers to Charles Xavier. But instead of using them for good, she tried to eradicate the so-called “mutant menace” by dispatching an army of Sentinel robots to the mutant island of Genosha, massacring millions of mutants in the process.

When Marvel Studios announced Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2022, it seemed like the smart call. Everyone knew another Avengers movie was coming, and Kang the Conqueror is a big deal villain in Marvel Comics who certainly, on paper, seems like a new Thanos-level threat. His time travel gimmick seemed to build off the plot device introduced in Avengers: Endgame, and as Marvel dove head first into what it dubbed The Multiverse Saga, Kang and his many variants made sense. With rising star Jonathan Majors set to play Kang, it seemed like Marvel had a winning formula.
Then everything went sideways. Kang made his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qunatumania, which was a box office and critical disappointment. One month later, Majors was arrested on domestic assault charges and, after a year-long legal battle, was found guilty, and Marvel Studios fired him from the role on the same day.

Not many people have seen "Madame Web" and an even smaller slice of the moviegoing population like the movie.
It stuck out to me that star Dakota Johnson seems to be under the impression that the film was set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I don't know if this is Sony Pictures feeding the actors and/or their agents misleading information or if movie stars like Johnson (understandably) can't be bothered to learn the nerdy logistics of these franchises.
Still, this got me thinking how the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn't have a "no previous superhero roles" bar to entry. Oscar Isaac, who played the villain in the disastrous "X-Men: Apocalypse," was then recruited to star in "Moon Knight." Christian Bale, a generation's Dark Knight, played Gorr the God Butcher in "Thor: Love and Thunder" because of his children's pleading.
In "Madame Web," Sydney Sweeney plays Julia Cornwall, the future Spider-Woman.

This post contains spoilers for "Loki" season 2.
"Deadpool 3" — or rather, "Deadpool & Wolverine" — dropped its first trailer during Super Bowl Lviii and confirmed that Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) will be journeying deep into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Specifically, on the ground first tread by the Disney+ series "Loki," which wrapped its second season last year.
When Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox went through, the expectation (at least for most folks) was that the old "X-Men" films would be wiped away in a blank slate reboot. However, the MCU has since been pulling from those previously unconnected X-movies; clearly, Marvel Studios would prefer to bank on audience familiarity with Fox's X-Men. Patrick Stewart showed up in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" as Professor X and Kelsey Grammer cameoed as Beast in the post-credit scene of "The Marvels." The wait for X-Men '97 may be ending sooner than previously thought.
In development for years, X-Men '97 serves as a continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series, picking up right where the original left off. Several of the same cast members have returned with the classic art style carrying over for the new show to make the revival seem as seamless as possible. The biggest issue that fans have faced has been the wait, and there were previously reports that the show wouldn't be arriving until later in the spring, somewhere around April or May 2024. Per The Direct, it was more recently confirmed during The Walt Disney Corporation's earnings presentation on Wednesday that the series is set to debut on Disney+ in "early 2024," which could suggest the new show's arrival is coming earlier than expected.

The post-credits scene in The Marvels introduces a different version of Maria Rambeau who doesn't know Monica and is involved with the X-Men. This alternate Maria Rambeau is referred to as Binary, a character in Marvel Comics who is associated with Carol Danvers and has ties to the X-Men. It's unclear if this version of Binary has the same history as Carol's, or if she is a new character created for the MCU. The scene doesn't specify if it's the Fox X-Men universe or a new one.
The Marvels' post-credits scene leaves one big question unanswered: who is this other Maria Rambeau? Maria has had a unique MCU journey, popping up in three distinct realities. Originally, she appeared in Captain Marvel as Carol Danvers' fellow fighter pilot and best friend. Later, Rambeau passed away in the main MCU, but that wasn't the last time she appeared. Wolverine's son, Akihiro (aka Fang), is killed by Sabretooth, and his body parts are scattered in the snow. Wolverine's extreme ferocity is ineffective against Sabretooth and his army. Wolverine is tied up and witnesses the deaths of nearly everyone inside the fortress. Akihiro's death is confirmed to be permanent, with no chance of return in X-Men canon. The fall of Krakoa and the neutralization of mutant resurrection protocols and cloning make his resurrection impossible.

The introduction of Beast in The Marvels post-credits scene indicates that more of Fox's X-Men cast will be coming to the MCU. Characters like Kitty Pryde, Rogue, Storm, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Professor X, Toad, Mystique, and Magneto should follow Beast into the MCU. The MCU has the opportunity to rectify previous portrayals and showcase the true powers and potential of these X-Men characters.
Now that The Marvels has been released on Disney Plus, there will be even more eyes on the bombshell post-credits scene that saw one of the original X-Men movie characters, Beast, debuting in the MCU - and he should be followed by many more. Now that Marvel has regained the movie rights for the X-Men, the MCU is gearing up to introduce them in earnest, following a smattering of cameos and references in recent MCU releases. Actor Aaron Stanford is open to reprising his role as Pyro in the MCU, but he would need to consider it. Stanford's character could potentially appear in Deadpool 3 or Avengers: Secret Wars. Stanford's return would likely be a cameo, as it's possible Pyro will be recast for the McU's X-Men reboot.
Years after his last appearance in 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise, actor Aaron Stanford has now addressed his potential return in the MCU. Following Disney's acquisition of Fox in 2019, several mutant characters from Marvel Comics have now been able to make appearances in the McU's Multiverse Saga. While Ms. Marvel's Kamala Khan and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's Namor have been confirmed as mutants in the McU's main continuity, some actors have also reprised their roles from Fox's X-Men Universe, including the likes of Patrick Stewart and Kelsey Grammer, who will soon be joined by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

Scarlet Witch's death in the MCU may not be permanent, as her powerful abilities could allow her to cheat death. Fan artwork on Instagram envisions a potential future saga in the MCU that involves the X-Men and Scarlet Witch. Scarlet Witch and Jean Grey have similarities in their backgrounds and experiences with powerful forces, suggesting a potential connection if they meet in the MCU.
Scarlet Witch may currently be dead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that hasn't stopped artists from imagining her future escapades in the franchise. The official MCU timeline book confirms that Wanda Maximoff did really die at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but a witch as powerful as her could surely find a way to cheat death. If she does return to the MCU soon, she'll likely get a chance to meet the X-Men.

As revealed in The Original X-Men #1, Angel's wings can be easily grounded by removing crucial "flight feathers". Warren's wings are visually stunning but impractical and easily injured, as his history has made clear time and again. Warren has compensated for his weakness for the years, most notably when his original wings were amputated and replaced with steel wings, granted by Apocalypse in exchange for serving him as a Horseman.

LeFou's portrayal as a gay character in Beauty and the Beast was not explicitly clear, leading to criticism and accusations of queerbaiting. Actor Josh Gad, who played LeFou, expressed regret that the film did not go further in depicting a gay character in a Disney movie. Critics and Gad believe that if LeFou was intended to be Disney's first openly gay character, it should have been made more explicit and handled better in the film.
LeFou is a secondary antagonist in 2017's Beauty and the Beast, and several changes are made to him from the original animated feature - however, Josh Gad has some regrets about the final character in the film. Beauty and the Beast is a live-action remake of the classic Disney animation of the same name, telling the story of the beautiful Belle (Emma Watson) and the hideous cursed Beast (Dan Stevens) that she falls in love with.

The portrayal of Disney princesses in early films perpetuated negative tropes. Many Disney princesses have been put in positions of needing to be rescued by men, despite being seen as empowering characters. There is a lack of diversity among Disney princesses, but recent films show signs of progress in representation.
Disney princess films have been around since 1937, leaving plenty of time to reflect on these films and question some of the choices made in them. For the longest time, Disney princesses have been seen as role model characters for young children, especially young girls. However, looking at these films and characters through a modern lens provides a different, and often negative, perspective.
