From the earliest tales of sentient machines to the sophisticated AI concepts seen today, sci-fi has sparked our fascination with the digital future. Here’s a look at ten pieces of sci-fi media, including a range of books, movies, and TV shows, that have played a role in inspiring today’s AI-obsessed world.

Keanu Reeves' Cyperpunk Thriller Is Streaming Free Next Month
Image
Years before he was hooked up to The Matrix, Keanu Reeves starred in another pioneering cyberpunk thriller, and next month, you'll be able to stream it for free. Based on a story by William Gibson, whose seminal cyberpunk novel Neuromanceris about to get a long-awaited adaptation of its own on Apple TV+, Johnny Mnemonic will be available to stream on the free, ad-supported platform Pluto starting on August 1.

Johnny Mnemonic is set in the same fictional universe as Neuromancer, and shares a character, the cyborg "razorgirl" Molly Millions; in the adaptation, her cybernetic abilities have been toned down, and she's referred to only as "Molly." It was directed by video artist and music video director Robert Longo; it remains, to date, his only feature film. Gibson adapted his own 1981 short story; Johnny Mnemonic was the first of Gibson's works to be adapted for the screen. After numerous stops and starts,...

Image
Peter Sarsgaard, featured in The Batman and Orphan, as well as Dopesick and Presumed Innocent, has joined the Apple TV+ adaptation of the cyberpunk classic Neuromancer. The show is currently in production, and despite not sharing many details, Sarsgaard did talk about the ten-episode miniseries that'll see him play a very wealthy tech mogul.

Per the report by Deadline, the 54-year-old actor was at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, where he received an honorary award. Sarsgaard talked about his acting technique in major works like September 5 and the upcoming monster feature The Bride!. The Green Lantern veteran also revealed a few details about the cyberpunk heist adaptation for Apple TV+ based on the book of the same name by William Gibson:

"It's a big, ten-episode thing for Apple. I play a guy called Ashpool, who, if you've read the book, is a guy who's created something that's sort of like AI.

Sarsgaard Brings Neuromancer Buzz and Bride Secrets to Karlovy Vary
Peter Sarsgaard
Peter Sarsgaard arrived at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival with two forthcoming genre projects in tow—and a pledge to “seek the truth” every time he steps on set. During a Kviff Talk he confirmed his role in Apple TV+’s adaptation of William Gibson’s cyber-punk milestone Neuromancer and called Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Frankenstein off-shoot The Bride! “provocative, sexy, dangerous and punk.”

Apple posted a “Welcome to the Chatsubo” video on YouTube, TikTok and Facebook last week, announcing that the ten-episode series—steered by showrunner Graham Roland and pilot director Jd Dillard—has entered production. Sarsgaard plays patriarch John Ashpool opposite Callum Turner’s hacker Case and Briana Middleton’s mirror-eyed assassin Molly. Polygon noted that Apple’s order ends four decades of failed film attempts to bring the 1984 novel to screen.

Spain’s Cinco Días reports the streamer is banking on Neuromancer to reinforce its science-fiction slate following Foundation and Silo.

Peter Sarsgaard On Awards, Elon Musk, And Dancing In His New Film ‘The Bride’: “It’s About The Monster In All Of Us” – Karlovy Vary Film Festival
Image
Peter Sarsgaard arrived in Karlovy Vary as one of the festival’s few honorees without a new film in the lineup — instead, he presented his 2003 film Shattered Glass, a visionary real-life drama about an ethically unmoored journalist whose embellished stories in some ways foresaw the media landscape of today. That doesn’t mean the actor has been idle; he came to the Czech Republic direct from the set of William Gibson’s 1984 sci-fi classic Neuromancer.

“It’s a big, ten-episode thing for Apple,” he reveals. “I play a guy called Ashpool, who, if you’ve read the book, is a guy who’s created something that’s sort of like AI. He’s the wealthiest person in the world, but the world is suffering. He’s in his own small world of not suffering, and you see how that’s an impossibility: Elon Musk may think he’s going to...

Peter Sarsgaard on Elon Musk’s Mars Plans, Going to a “No Kings” Protest, and How “We’re All F***ed”
Image
Humanity must work together or else, Peter Sarsgaard (Dead Man Walking, Boys Don’t Cry) told reporters during a Saturday roundtable interview conducted as part of the 59th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Kviff), in which he also explained why he joined a “No Kings” protest on U.S. President Donald Trump’s birthday, and why he doesn’t believe in Elon Musk’s Mars colonization plans as a way to safe the human race.

Sarsgaard shared his thoughts and insights after receiving the Kviff President’s Award during the festival opening ceremony on Friday night. In his acceptance speech, he spoke out against divisions, especially in the U.S., saying: “The enemies are the forces that divide us.” He added: “There is no going it alone. As my country retreats from its global responsibilities and tries to go it alone, it is also being divided into factions from within — factions of politics,...

Harrison Ford and Sean Young in Blade Runner (1982)
Apple starts work on Neuromancer show, based on the sci-fi classic
Harrison Ford and Sean Young in Blade Runner (1982)
Apple has officially started work on Neuromancer, a new 10-episode adaptation of William Gibson's 1984 novel. Check out the announcement teaser above, which highlights the moody interiors typical of the cyberpunk genre.

Cyberpunk stories take place in dystopian futures where things like cybernetics and artificial intelligence have been integrated into societies. Often there's a huge amount of wealth inequality. Neuromancer didn't invent the cyberpunk, but it did help popularize it. You can see the book's influence everywhere, from Blade Runner to Ready Player One to Cyberpunk 2077. And Gibson was the first person to use the term "matrix" to describe an immersive digital world, so we have him to those movies.

So Neuromancer had a huge influence on cyberpunk and on sci-fi in general, but mostly in terms of mood and setting; I don't feel like many people are familiar with the actual plot. It's about a hacker named Case, who...

Neuromancer | Apple TV+ releases brief teaser for its forthcoming show
Image
Upcoming cyberpunk TV show Neuromancer has a huge reputation to live up to, and Apple TV+ given us a tiny glimpse at what to expect.

AppleTV+ has a rather good sci-fi selection already, but it’s in the process of adding another title to its library that is one of the foundational stories in futuristic fiction. Neuromancer is adapted from the book of the same name by William Gibson, and along with Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, is largely credited with birthing the cyberpunk genre.

Cyberpunk has continued to flourish in these past few years, not least because of CD Projekt Red’s enormously successful videogame, Cyberpunk 2077, itself adapted from a tabletop role-playing game that like Neuromancer and Blade Runner, launched in the 1980s. While Cdpr are also developing a Cyberpunk 2077 live action TV show along with Anonymous Content, it feels appropriate that Gibson’s seminal novel will arrive on our screens first,...

Neuromancer First Official Teaser Takes Us To A Familiar Location From William Gibson's Novel
Image
Welcome to the Chatsubo, cowboy.

To mark the 41st anniversary of William Gibson's Neuromancer hitting shelves, Apple TV+ has released the first teaser for its upcoming series adaptation of the Cyberpunk classic.

The promo doesn't show much, but we do get to walk through the doors of Bar Chatsubo, an establishment that should be very familiar to fans of Gibson's work.

Briana Middleton is set to play Molly Millions, and some recent set photos revealed that she looks pretty much exactly how the cyborg mercenary is described in the novels.

Molly, also known as Sally Shears and Rose Kolodny, was first introduced in Gibson's 1981 short story Johnny Mnemonic (which was adapted as a critically-lambasted 1995 movie starring Keanu Reeves) before going on to play a more significant role in the Sprawl Trilogy, Neuromancer (1984), Count Zero (1986), and Mona Lisa Overdrive (1988).

She is a ruthless "razorgirl" (street samurai) with augmented reflexes and cybernetic implants,...

Image
Apple TV+ has released an exciting teaser for its highly anticipated Neuromancer adaptation, offering a first look at a key location from William Gibson's iconic 1984 sci-fi novel. The short clip was shared online on July 1, the same date that the book was published 41 years ago, to announce the start of production on the 10-episode cyberpunk series, which will arrive on the streaming service, courtesy of show creators Graham Roland and J.D. Dillard. Roland is acting as the showrunner, while Dillard is directing the pilot episode.

The 26-second video (shared below) tracks through a dark, empty bar that slowly starts to come to life. A pinball machine flickers on accompanied by gameplay sounds, triggering a domino effect across the room. Other lights turn on before a neon sign illuminates the space, revealing it as "Bar Chatsubo." The watering hole is a primary spot in the Neuromancer novel as it is...

Apple TV+’s Cyberpunk Silo Replacement Gets Major Filming Update
Image
Apple TV+'s Silo has been one of the streamer's biggest sci-fi hits, but now its upcoming cyberpunk series Neuromancer has had a huge filming update. Neuromancer, based on the seminal cyberpunk book of the same name by William Gibson, is one of Apple TV+'s most anticipated new shows. Silo, itself also based on a book, has been a huge hit for the streamer, and Neuromancer could easily do the same.

Neuromancer follows Case (Callum Turner), a hacker who gets roped into doing a dangerous and mysterious job for a man named Armitage and a "razorgirl," or mercenary, named Molly. The story deals with everything from artificial intelligence to transhumanism, and it's considered a pillar of cyberpunk as a subgenre for a good reason.

Now, Apple TV+ has released a teaser for Neuromancer that both confirms the show is currently in production and shows images of the Chatsubo Bar.

After Decades in Development Hell, 'Neuromancer' Adaptation Takes a Giant Leap Forward at Apple TV+
Image
Over forty years after its source material was first published, Neuromanceris finally coming online. Apple TV+ announced that the long-awaited cyberpunk science fiction adaptation has entered production in a new teaser clip. No release date for the series has yet been announced. The series will be an adaptation of William Gibson's seminal 1984 novel, which essentially birthed the entire cyberpunk genre. Many attempts at adapting the novel for the screen have been made, but Apple, whose Macintosh personal computer was likewise first released in 1984, will be the first one to successfully crack the code.

In the teaser, a bar slowly comes to life, its lights and arcade machines switching on, before a neon sign buzzes to life, revealing that the bar is the Chatsubo, the Chiba City lounge that is a key location in the novel. It then announces that the series, which was first greenlit in early 2024, is now in production.

Cyberbunk Fans, Apple TV+ Has Great News for You
Image
Good news for Cyberpunk fans, Apple TV+ is bringing a bold adaptation of William Gibson’s Neuromancer. This adaptation of the sci-fi cult classic embraces the roots of the genre rather than echoing than beating about the bush.

Along with its other sci-fi hits such as Foundation, Severance, and Murderbot, Apple TV+ is shaping up a diverse and vibrant ecosystem for sci-fi viewers, and Neuromancer looks like a promising addition to it. The channel has attempted to create a series that would interest devoted fans and new viewers alike and be a gripping watch, whether you’re a veteran or novice to the genre.

Neuromancer aims to define Cyberpunk and not redo it

As announced in February 2024, Apple TV+ has given the green signal for Neuromancer adaptation into a 10-episode series. This is a significant shift from the previous movie attempts on the same theme that didn’t work out.

Why Netflix Canceled Altered Carbon
Image
There has always been more to cyberpunk than the core premise of being more than human. It might also be tempting to boil down the genre to mere aesthetics: futuristic, neon-drenched metropolises, cutting-edge technology, and a society simultaneously on the brink of progress and ruin. However, cyberpunk narratives routinely critique the oversaturation of capitalist ideology while highlighting mankind's fraught relationship with technological progress. These stories are also overtly political, where shadowy organizations and corrupt megacorporations hold a corrosive monopoly over people's lives, going as far as digitizing consciousness in the name of progress.

Although all of these genre traits find a way to compound in Richard K. Morgan's 2002 novel "Altered Carbon," humanity emerges as the most intriguing aspect of such a dystopian world. Just when you think you've seen it all before, "Altered Carbon" jolts you awake with the ingenuity and cynicism necessary for cyberpunk to thrive as a genre.

Tim Miller Discusses ‘Love Death + Robots’ Season 4 Episodes, Show’s Future
Image
Netflix’s acclaimed adult animated series Love Death + Robots has dropped its long-awaited fourth season, which includes 10 striking fever dream episodes that run the gambit of storytelling — from a cat battling Satan, to naked gladiators riding dinosaurs, to a dolphin messiah.

Once again, the show has served up visions inspired by an array of short stories that are unlike anything else on TV (trailer below). And once again, there are controversies, with the show’s passionate fandom debating certain aspects (such as a character voiced by Mr. Beast, and executive producer and director David Fincher’s short which takes a Red Hot Chili Peppers’ performance and recreates it using thousands of puppets).

Below, creator and director Tim Miller (Deadpool) discusses the new season, several of the episodes and the show’s future (if you haven’t yet watched season four, better to do that first). The show’s success...

Johnny Mnemonic (1995) – What Happened to This Sci-Fi Action Film?
Image
The episode of What Happened to This covering Johnny Mnemonic was Written and Edited by Jaime Vasquez, Narrated by Tyler Nichols, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

The story of Johnny Mnemonic was one of the early standards of cyberpunk literature. And coming off the explosive success of Speed, Keanu Reeves took on the title role opposite Action icon Dolph Lundgren. The supporting cast was a solidly talented ensemble that included Ice-t, Henry Rollins, and a laser whip that cut right through characters, bones and all. So, how could this promising film adaptation die a death so pitiful that even Casper the friendly ghost would spit on its grave? How did too many cooks turn what was meant to be an arty tech noir film into an overcooked, underwhelming mess? And how did it lead to studios greenlighting The Matrix? I need to unload all this data,...

Dillard's upcoming streaming adaptation of William Gibson's Cyberpunk classic, Neuromancer, via some revealing set photos featuring Briana Middleton as Molly Millions, and we now have another look at the actress sporting a very different costume.

Millions is a ruthless, but honourable "razorgirl" (street samurai) with augmented reflexes and cybernetic implants, including razor-sharp retractable blades underneath her fingernails and vision-enhancing mirrored lenses covering her eye-sockets.

So far, Middleton is the only main cast member to be spotted on set, but other photos have revealed some background actors in various Cyberpunk-inspired outfits.

All Of Kurt Russell's Movies With John Carpenter, Ranked
Image
Name a more iconic duo than John Carpenter and Kurt Russell. Sure, they may not have collaborated on a film in decades, but back in the '80s, they were a lethal pairing, especially when it came to stylish genre films. In total, the pair made five movies together between 1979 and 1996. And today, we're going to rank them.

While Carpenter first gained fame as a horror auteur (the genre for which he's still best known today), he's directed all sorts of movies over the years, and his collaborations with Russell are great examples of that. Only one of the duo's films is a horror flick, while the others span the realms of biopic, science fiction, action-adventure, and comedy. It's an eclectic mix, to be sure, but also a solid one.

Of course, we're splitting hairs a bit on some of these (though we all know what the best one is...

Here are Keanu Reeves' seven most riveting sci-fi and fantasy roles, ranked by their impact, performances, and sheer awesomeness factor.

7. Klaatu – The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)

In this remake of the 1951 classic, Reeves plays Klaatu, an alien sent to Earth to determine whether humanity deserves to survive. His signature calm demeanor and otherworldly presence make him a believable extraterrestrial observer. While the movie received mixed reviews, Reeves’ portrayal of the detached, emotionless visitor added an eerie weight to the film’s apocalyptic stakes.

6. Johnny Mnemonic – Johnny Mnemonic (1995)

Before The Matrix, Reeves took on another cyberpunk role as Johnny Mnemonic,...

Neuromancer: Apple TV’s William Gibson adaptation adds Clémence Poésy
Image
Forty years ago, author William Gibson brought the world a cyberpunk novel called Neuromancer – and an adaptation of that story has been trudging its way through development hell pretty much ever since. Versions of a feature film adaptation have passed through the hands of directors like music video maker Chris Cunningham, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob‘s Chuck Russell, Torque‘s Joseph Kahn, Cube‘s Vincenzo Natali, and Deadpool‘s Tim Miller. An adaptation of Neuromancer is currently moving forward as a 10-episode series that’s set up at Apple TV+, and Variety reports that Clémence Poésy of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and Tenet has signed on to play a character named Marie-France Tessier.

We’ve previously heard that BAFTA Award-nominee Callum Turner of Masters of the Air and The Boys in the Boat will be playing the lead character, Henry Dorsett Case,...

One Of The X-Files' Worst Episodes Was Written By A Sci-Fi Legend
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

In the "The X-Files" episode "First Person Shooter", Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are called to investigate a seemingly fatal virtual reality video game. The players of the game, uncreatively called "First Person Shooter," have been encountering a sexy assassin named Maitreya (B-movie luminary Krista Allen) whom no one programmed into the game. When Maitreya kills someone in the game, they die in real life. No one knows how that's possible.

Mulder and Scully eventually find a woman in the real world who looks just like Maitreya, but she reveals that she is an exotic dancer named (sigh) Jade Blue Afterglow, and that she was merely hired by a computer company to scan her likeness. To raise the stakes, Mulder's friends the Lone Gunmen find themselves doing battle with the mysterious Maitreya inside of "First Person Shooter," and...

'X-Files' Fans, You’ve Already Seen Stephen King’s 'The Monkey'
Image
The release of The Monkey marks a continuation of Stephen King's long and weird film career. Directed by Osgood Perkins, the film reaches far back into King's past for material, now joining the ranks of other King adaptations like Carrie, The Running Man, and The Shining. However, as it turns out, Perkins isn't the first to bring this supposedly untouched short story to life. Kudos to you X-File fanatics who recall the episode “Chinga” in 1998, which used this same plot.

As part of a special series in Season 5, creator Chris Carter recruited some ringers to guest write. The result was an unofficial adaptation of King’s 1980 short story, “The Monkey,” swapping out the cymbal-clutching monkey for a creepy, haunted, Victorian Doll. Perhaps for legal reasons, the story was modified, concealing the origins. But enough of the core elements remain to trace the provenance of "Chinga." That short story is...

This 27-Year-Old X-Files Episode Saved the Show (& Majorly Impacted the Series)
Image
The X-Files is a genre-bending drama that completely dismantles an array of sci-fi tropes. Fans quickly fell in love with Mulder and Scully, appreciating their bond and dedication to their obscure positions in the FBI. Even when the show was rebooted in 2016, audiences flocked to see what the agents were up to in the latter part of the 21st century.

However, the show wasn't meant to go on for as long as it did. Plus, it's widely known that the stars didn't see eye-to-eye behind the scenes, which only made things difficult for them. Yet, Season 5, Episode 11, "Kill Switch," is a prime example of why the show needed to push through for four more seasons.

"Kill Switch" Explores the Dangers and Talents of AI

"Kill Switch" first introduces the audience to Donald Gelman, a Silicon Valley legend, who recently got caught in a shootout at a local diner. At the crime scene,...

Image
Apple TV+ has quietly carved out a niche for itself in the streaming wars as the go-to platform for mind-bending science fiction. The cast for Neuromancer is filling out. Deadline reports that the latest addition to the show is Mark Strong, who most recently appeared in Max's Dune: Prophecy as Emperor Javicco Corino. Neuromancer: Apple TV’s William Gibson adaptation adds Mark Strong as Armitage
An adaptation of Neuromancer is currently moving forward as a 10-episode series that’s set up at Apple TV+, and we’ve previously heard that BAFTA Award-nominee Callum Turner of Masters of the Air and The Boys in the Boat will be playing the lead character, Henry Dorsett Case, while Briana Middleton of Sharper and The Tender Bar takes on the role of Case’s partner Molly, “a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes.

Johnny Mnemonic | The Keanu Reeves would-be-blockbuster that was meant to be a $2m indie thriller
Image
Thirty years ago, Keanu Reeves starred in Johnny Mnemonic, a film that began as a low-budget thriller before it was retooled as a would-be blockbuster.

It must take a considerable amount of willpower to go through a horrendous filmmaking experience and then pretend to journalists that everything’s fine. While moments of candour do occur in movie-making, the repercussions are seldom pretty; actor Shia Labeouf burned several bridges when he openly criticised Indiana Jones sequel The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull – in which he starred as Indy’s son – at Cannes in 2010.

Artist and filmmaker Robert Longo was probably wise to keep his own counsel, then, when he began promoting his feature debut Johnny Mnemonic in 1995. What had begun as a small sci-fi indie film had blown up into a would-be summer blockbuster starring Keanu Reeves; originally, Longo wanted to make a subversive cyberpunk thriller inspired by some of his favourite genre films,...

Oscar-Winning Writer John Ridley Adapting Isaac Asimov's Sci-Fi Novel 'The Caves of Steel'
Image
Another classic Isaac Asimov science fiction novel is getting a live-action adaptation, with a crack duo of writers bringing The Caves of Steel to the big screen. Isaac Asimov is one of the most prolific sci-fi writers of all-time, alongside other notable authors in the genre, like William Gibson, Frank Herbert, Richard Matheson, and Gene Wolfe. Many of his works have been adapted to the big and small screen in the past, including Apple TV+'s Foundation, the Will Smith-led I, Robot, and Bicentennial Man starring Robin Williams.

Per Deadline, Asimov's 1953 sci-fi detective novel, The Caves of Steel is being adapted into a feature film. The movie is in the early stages of development, but the project has found its writers. John Ridley, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind 12 Years a Slave, is teaming up with Cheo Hodari Coker to co-write the script. Coker is best known for creating Marvel's vastly underappreciated Luke Cage series,...

2 Years Later, Cdpr Finally Listened To My Best Cyberpunk 2077 Suggestion
Image
I am happy to see that CD Projekt Red and R. Talsorian Games have finally done some proper cross promotion with the inclusion of the Cyberpunk Red “Easy Mode” Pdf for those who own Cyberpunk 2077, the video game based on the tabletop RPG. While Cyberpunk 2077 drew attention based on Cdrp’s reputation built through The Witcher video game series, at the time of its release it did not overtly draw attention to its pen-and-paper RPG source material. I wrote a Screen Rant article suggesting this very idea in 2022, and it’s nice to see it finally happen.

When I wrote about how Cyberpunk 2077 has hidden Ttrpg roots, I noted how it, and other video games, represented missed opportunities to support and grow the considerably smaller hobby of tabletop roleplaying. For perspective, Dungeons & Dragons, easily the market leader in TTRPGs, is estimated to have sold between 3 and 5 million copies of...

Apple TV+ Adapting Classic Sci-Fi Novel Into New Series After Silo & Foundation Success
Image
Apple TV+ to adapt William Gibson's Neuromancer into a 10-episode show. Neuromancer's influence extends to The Matrix, and Gibson's works have been adapted before with Prime Video show The Peripheral and the Keanu Reeves movie Johnny Mnemonic. Apple TV+ aims to bring audiences into Gibson's "cyberpunk" world, and the potential for Neuromancer to continue Apple TV+'s sci-fi success is high.

Apple TV+ has officially greenlit a television adaptation of William Gibson’s Neuromancer, fresh off the success of their other sci-fi shows Silo and Foundation. Building on the dystopian future established in his previous short stories, many of the themes and terms featured in 1984’s Neuromancer would go on to inspire countless other science fiction tales, including 1999’s The Matrix. Previously, Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate director Tim Miller had been attached to a potential movie adaptation in 2017.

Apple TV+ officially announced that Gibson’s classic sci-fi...

Can a Neuromancer TV Series Still Work After The Matrix?
Image
After weeks of moving through scuzzy bars with off-beat cybernetic accouterment, toiling under a static-grey sky to gain control of cyberspace, our heroes have made it to Zion. The Rastafarians who greet these travelers from a ship named for an important historical figure pay little mind to our male protagonist. However, they cannot believe their luck in meeting his female companion, whose reputation far exceeds his.

Regardless of the chilly reception, the protagonist remains undeterred. Zion is, after all, a key part in mission to understand a powerful AI controlling reality.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that the above description comes form The Matrix, the groundbreaking sci-fi action movie from 1999 or its sequels. But I’m not describing Neo and Trinity aboard the Nebuchadnezzar. I’m talking about Case and Molly reaching the Rastafarian colony of Zion with help from their ship the Marcus Garvey in the 1984 novel Neuromancer by William Gibson.

Noel Fielding Talks His New Apple TV+ Comedy Dick Turpin — and If Baking Show Fans Will Get the Joke
Image
Millions of The Great British Baking Show’s fans might not know it, but Noel Fielding is very funny outside the tent, too.

Before taking over as co-host of Netflix’s supremely cozy UK baking competition in 2017, Fielding was best known for starring in The Mighty Boosh, a wildly surreal sitcom that became a cult hit during its 2004-07 run on BBC Three. Now two decades later, Fielding is returning to TV comedy with a new Apple TV+ series, The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin (premiering this Friday on the streamer), with Fielding playing an easygoing misfit who accidentally...
