Exclusive: Veteran Broadway actor Emily Skinner will join Bridgerton star Luke Newton in the upcoming Off Broadway production House of McQueen, a new play about the late, famed fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen.

Skinner will play McQueen’s mother Joyce to Newton’s McQueen.

As Deadline reported exclusively yesterday, Darrah Cloud’s House of McQueen will begin previews August 19 at the new Off Broadway Manhattan venue The Mansion at Hudson Yards, with an official opening set for September 9. The limited engagement runs through November.

It was Memorial Day weekend in 2018, and she was having trouble sleeping. Earlier in the day, the comedy star called Bruce Helford, the head writer of the “Roseanne” revival. Barr asked when she should plan to report back to the writers’ room of the ABC ratings juggernaut, which had been renewed for a second season.

“He said to me, ‘Oh, the writers are already back, and we would love you to come by and say hello,’” she recalls. “And when I heard it, I was like, ‘Fuck you. What’s even better is that the post came with an official date announcement, stamping the production’s cinematic arrival for April 10, 2026. The photo itself features Weaving’s Grace and Newton’s newly added and yet-to-be-named character lying on the ground. The pair are handcuffed to one another, with the former donning a shoulder and hand bandage and the latter covered in blood. While we don’t yet know if they’re friends or foes in the movie, both actresses are nothing but smiles, celebrating a job well done.

What started as a crafty ensemble series about unlikely experts teaming up to perform impossible espionage missions evolved into a series of gigantic action spectaculars, less about a group of spies and more about Tom Cruise. Not even the character he played, Ethan Hunt. No, just Tom Cruise. It’s the franchise he made his own, a series of films that always portray him in a fawning, heroic light, in a series of productions that also made his daring do-it-yourself stunt mentality a beloved marketing ploy.

There are, truth be told, no “Mission: Impossible” films that aren’t at least mostly fun to watch. Some of them are great films. Some are merely great action movies.

After nearly three decades of saving the world, it’s time for Ethan Hunt to face his Final Reckoning, and your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join him on his most harrowing, death-defying adventure yet, which, thanks to Tom Cruise and writer-director Christopher McQuarrie, ultimately brings the franchise to an emotional (and mostly) satisfying close.

Honestly, it's not the most original of storylines. It sounds very similar to 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, which followed teen girls swimming into sunken Mayan ruins and getting trapped within the underwater labyrinth of caves while surrounded by sharks. But I'm willing to give Devil's Mouth a chance, if only because Newton usually picks pretty good scripts.

Now it's been revealed that cameras have started rolling on Ready or Not: Here I Come in Toronto with a slew of casting announcements.
