Exclusive: Italian sales agent Intramovies has acquired global rights to leading Brazilian director Aly Muritiba’s new film Funk.
Funk charts the rise of Mc Sabrina, a young Brazilian funk singer, from her beginnings in Morro dos Prazeres to the electrifying favela parties that pulse through the heart of Rio de Janeiro.
The film is produced by Manoel Rangel, Egisto Betti and Heitor Dhalia for Paranoïd Filmes and co-produced by Laranjeiras Filmes and Claro Vídeo. The story is written by Fernando Barcellos, Leandro Saraiva and Aly Muritiba.
The film is at post-production stage and will be distributed in Latin America by Paris Filmes.
