Wiz Khalifa Gets Emotional During NPR Tiny Desk Performance
Image
Wiz Khalifa couldn’t hold back his tears when he saw some of his family in the crowd during his NPR Tiny Desk performance. On Tuesday, the rap king visited the NPR offices for a 20-minute performance, featuring classics and new songs, backed by a band.

Wearing a Snoop Dogg-referencing shirt, Khalifa opened the performance with a jazzy rendition of “Red Eye,” driven by a groovy bass and a full live band. He continued with “Mezmorized” and “The Kid Frankie,” before a rock-tipped take of “Never Been.”

Miley Cyrus, Billy Idol Films Lead Live Nation’s Big Look at Tribeca Festival
Image
For a company that rarely does anything quietly, over the past decade Live Nation’s film and TV division has been developing a formidable slate of music-related documentaries and scripted content in a very under-the-radar way. But it’s making a big splash at this week’s Tribeca Film Festival with five titles: Miley Cyrus’ “Something Beautiful,” a visual companion to her new album; the harrowing redemption story “Billy Idol Should Be Dead”; Ty Dolla $ign’s “Still Free Tc,” about the R&b artist working to get his brother released from prison; Becky G’s “Rebbeca”; and the scripted project ”K-Pops,” which was written, directed and stars Anderson .Paak.

Live Nation is the world’s biggest live-entertainment company, a multi-billion dollar titan, yet its venture into the worlds of film and television have been uncharacteristically low-key. Since its December 2015 launch, the company has created or co-produced some 23 projects: from...

Fifth Harmony, Minus Camila Cabello, in Talks to Reunite (Exclusive)
Image
Fifth Harmony are in talks to reunite, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell The Hollywood Reporter. The reunion would include all of the girl group’s members except for Camila Cabello, who left 5H at the end of 2016.

Forming through the TV singing competition The X Factor back in 2012, Fifth Harmony’s original lineup consisted of Cabello, Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui. The quintet would go on to become one of the best-selling girl groups of the 2010s, with their albums Reflection and 7/27 both going platinum, according to the RIAA. They nabbed their biggest hit with “Work From Home,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign — which has 1.5 billion Spotify streams as of this story’s publication — while “Worth It,” featuring Kid Ink, went triple-platinum.

Fans were shocked in 2016 when Fifth Harmony announced that Cabello was leaving the group, confirming they’d continue as a foursome instead. (As part of the split,...

What it’s Like to Livestream Yourself Recording an Album, According to Ddg
Image
When we talked on Zoom last month, rapper Ddg had just been streaming on Twitch for a week straight. During that time, he’d invited guests like Shaboozey and DaBaby to his studio for a 7-day “Hit-a-Thon,” where they’d record songs for his then-upcoming album Blame the Chat, which dropped last week. One would imagine that he might’ve wanted to take a break after wrapping up that kind of gauntlet. Instead, Ddg was right back on stream only a few hours after the Hit-a-Thon ended. “Maybe three hours...

Charli Xcx Exchanges Playful Digs With Green Day During Coachella
Image
Green Day is officially brat.

As the punk band headlined Weekend 2 of Coachella, they exchanged some playful barbs with Charli Xcx, who also performed at the 2025 music festival in Indio, California.

After the British artist partied during Weekend 1 in a t-shirt printed with a sash reading “Miss Should Be Headliner,” drummer Tré Cool posed in his own sash made from toilet paper, which read, “Actual Headliner.”

“Obsessed,” wrote Charli on X with the photo of Cool, also sharing a snapshot of the band’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong sporting a Brat hat in support of Charli’s sixth studio album.

In addition to Green Day, headliners for Coachella 2025 include Lady Gaga and Post Malone, also featuring performances by Charli, Missy Elliott, Megan Thee Stallion, Benson Boone, Zedd, Shaboozey, Ty Dolla Sign, Misfits, Prodigy, FKA Twigs and Jimmy Eat World.

Kneecap Sparks Backlash With Israel Protest During Coachella Set: “F— Israel, Free Palestine”
Image
Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap made quite the impression with their Coachella debut, using their set to protest the Israel-Hamas War‘s devastating impact on Palestine.

The group has sparked backlash after their Weekend 2 performance on Friday at the Sonora stage, during which they projected “fuck Israel,” “free Palestine” and other messages of protest against US support of the Israel-Hamas war.

“Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. It is being enabled by the US government who arm and fund Israel despite their war crimes,” the text read in photos shared on X by the group. “Fuck Israel. Free Palestine.”

After Coachella’s YouTube Live stream of their set was reportedly cut when they started an anti-Margaret Thatcher chant, the band wrote on X, “Not the only thing that was cut – our messaging on the US-backed genocide in Gaza somehow never appeared on screens either. Back next Friday Coachella and it’ll be sorted.

Lady Gaga Overcomes Mic Malfunction At Coachella: “At Least You Know I Sing Live”
Image
Although Coachella 2025 is nearly done, Lady Gaga brought her all to Weekend 2 of the music festival.

The 14x Grammy winner returned to the Coachella main stage on Friday, where her head mic began glitching during ‘Abracadabra’, her second track of the night, but she powered through the choreography and soon re-emerged with a working hand mic.

“I’m sorry my mic was broken for a second,” Gaga later told the crowd. “At least you know I sing live. I guess all we can do is our best and I’m certainly giving you my best tonight.”

Marking her first time performing at Coachella since headlining in 2017, when she replaced Beyoncé on the lineup, Gaga has brought her latest album Mayhem and some of her other greatest hits to the Inland Empire for the 2025 festival.

Last weekend, she performed her Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning song ‘Shallow’, which she originally sang...

Ty Dolla $ign Has Brother Sing From Prison During Coachella Set
Image
Ty Dolla $ign celebrated his 43rd birthday with a Sahara Stage set at Coachella, but the thematic focus of his performance wasn’t on himself, it was on his incarcerated brother, Big Tc. Midway through the set, Ty played a video featuring Big Tc singing from prison, accompanied live by an onstage choir.

On a stage decorated to resemble a prison yard — complete with chain link fences and barbed wire — the performers turned their back to the crowd and looked up towards the screen, which projected the video of Big Tc.

The video appeared to be on loop, and though not all the audible lyrics matched up with Big Tc’s lips (making it a bit unclear as to where the actual audio came from), the impact was clear, demonstrating Ty’s love for his brother and illustrating the pain of incarceration.

Watch the video of the moment below.

Post Malone Delivers Explosive Coachella Headlining Debut
Image
The lights went down over the desert around 10:27 p.m. and the crowd began to chant: “Post-y, Post-y, Post-y.”

On the final night of Coachella Weekend One, Post Malone entered the main stage for his headlining performance, wearing a baseball cap and a vintage-looking tee, and holding a red solo cup in his hand.

Post turned the main stage into a rock & roll ramp fit for an F-1, complete with street lights that stood tall behind the band and barrels that spit fire scattered all over. It may have...

Green Day Alters ‘Jesus of Suburbia’ Lyric In Support Of Palestine At Coachella
Image
After nearly 40 years, Green Day is still using their music as a megaphone to protest the world’s injustices.

While headlining Saturday at Coachella, the punk band used their 2004 single ‘Jesus of Suburbia’ to call attention to the suffering of Palestinian children amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

“Runnin’ away from pain, like the kids from Palestine / Tales from another broken home,” sang frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in the lyric that was originally, “Runnin’ away from pain when you’ve been victimized.”

Last month, he altered the same track, singing, “Am I retarded, or am I just J.D. Vance?” Instead of the vice president’s name, the original lyric asks “am I just overjoyed?”

The American Idiot artists are not new to making a statement with their music, using the title track from their 2004 album to call out Donald Trump during a 2023 New Year’s Eve broadcast.

“I’m not a part of the Maga agenda,...

Patrick Schwarzenegger Supports ‘The White Lotus’ Co-Star Lisa At Coachella: “Crushed It”
Image
Patrick Schwarzenegger has checked out of The White Lotus just in time to make it to Coachella.

Following last weekend’s Season 3 finale of the HBO series, the actor supported his co-star Lisa (aka Lalisa Manobal) on Friday during her opening night set at the music festival, sharing a video from the audience of himself singing and dancing along to her single ‘Money’.

“Excuse my dancing I had a cocktail,” wrote Schwarzenegger on his Instagram Story with the clip, adding that Blackpink star “crushed it.”

The pair didn’t have many scenes together during the recent Thailand-set season of Mike White’s acclaimed anthology series, with Schwarzenegger starring as privileged southern boy Saxon Ratliff, and Lisa playing resort employee Thidapon ‘Mook’ Sornsin.

Schwarzenegger appeared to be accompanied at the performance by their co-star Tayme Thapthimthong, who played Mook’s kindhearted security guard love interest Gaitok.

Lady Gaga Recalls Filming ‘A Star Is Born’ At Coachella During ‘Shallow’ Performance
Image
Ally fans rejoiced as Lady Gaga reprised her hit song from A Star Is Born (2018) for the first night of Coachella 2025.

Following some tracks from her latest album Mayhem, as well as some of her other bops, Gaga performed her Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning song ‘Shallow‘, which she originally sang with co-star Bradley Cooper for the acclaimed remake.

“You know, since the last time I played Coachella, I’ve had some songs come out,” she prefaced. “But one of them, I think back to being here and remember how special it was that I got to perform here. And we filmed a movie, a movie that changed my life, helped me say something I hadn’t said before.”

Gaga continued, “I’m so excited to sing this for you here tonight, I couldn’t wait. I hope you sing it as loud as you can. There ain’t nothing like you.

Benson Boone Performs ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ With Queen’s Brian May In Coachella Tribute
Image
As Benson Boone kicked off Coachella 2025, he paid tribute to Queen with a little help from a founding member of the legendary group.

The Grammy nominee was joined by guitarist Brian May and a full choir on Friday night as he performed the band’s 1975 hit ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ on the Main Stage for the first night of Weekend 1.

Beginning the performance at the piano, Boone wore a fur coat of which Freddie Mercury would approve before getting up to work the stage and peeling off the layer to reveal his signature sparkly blue onesie.

May, who co-founded the British rock group in 1970 with Mercury, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, ascended from the stage to accompany Boone on guitar. The appearance follows May’s minor stroke last fall, which left him temporarily unable to use his left arm.

Boone’s Coachella debut comes after he revealed that his second studio album,...

Playboi Carti released his third studio album after a four-year delay to positive responses. Kanye West Disses Kendrick Lamar Over Feature On New Playboi Carti Album
Image
It’s been a long wait — made longer after missing the typical midnight release time for a new album — but after more than four years, Playboi Carti has finally dropped his latest album.

The new album, simply titled Music, is Carti’s third album overall and his first since dropping Whole Lotta Red on Christmas Day back in 2020. The album is lengthy, clocking at an hour and 17 minutes with 30 songs, and it’s particularly star-studded with guest features from The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert and Young Thug and Kendrick Lamar.

Kanye West didn’t seem to be a fan of that latter feature, with the rapper dissing Lamar’s verse on Friday, posting on his X account that “I Dont Like Kendrick Lamars Music.”

The 47-year-old rapper, known for his unpredictable behavior, turned heads for all the wrong reasons when he orchestrated a jaw-dropping moment with his 30-year-old wife, Bianca Censori. Image
You may not know his name, and you’ve never heard his voice, but you’ve probably seen his face.

It’s the same one staring out at you in hundreds of TikTok and Instagram videos that have been viewed billions of times. But unlike most social media stars, Jarred Jermaine has earned his internet celebrity performing an essential cultural service: He breaks down modern music to its DNA, uncovering samples, interpolations and too-close-for-comfort homages in today’s Top 40 hits.

He’s since widened his scope to help followers identify elusive songs and shed some light on the songwriting process. But his bread and butter remains sample detection. With more than 6 million followers on TikTok and 3 million on Instagram, it’s a talent that has clearly found a massive and appreciative audience.

Jermaine caught up with The Hollywood Reporter to explain just why samples and interpolations are so prevalent in pop music,...

Kanye West and Bianca Censori Are Not Divorcing, Rep Says, Denying “Tabloid Rumors” (Exclusive)
Image
Reports that Kanye West and Bianca Censori are headed for divorce after splitting days after the rap mogul’s wife shocked attendees at the 2025 Grammys with a nude look on the music awards show’s red carpet and he went on an antisemitic social media tirade are entirely false, their longtime rep told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday.

“Ye and Bianca are in Los Angeles, about to enjoy Valentine’s Day together. Announcements about their private life will come from them directly, not unsourced rumor in the tabloid press,” Milo Yiannopoulos, the couple’s longtime rep, told THR on Thursday afternoon. “Is this the fifth or is it the sixth time the press has wrongly reported that Ye and Bianca are separating? I’ve lost track.”

A report in The Daily Mail early Thursday stated that, according to an unnamed source close to the rapper, the couple split, and a...

Kanye’s Latest Antics Prove There Are Lines You Still Can’t Cross. But Not for Long
Image
You’d be forgiven for thinking Ye’s antisemitic tirade over the weekend — in which he expressed admiration for Hitler, literally called himself a Nazi, praised Diddy, and took out a Super Bowl ad pointing to a web store selling swastika t-shirts — was the reason his X account was deactivated this week. Even by the standards often too gracefully afforded to Ye, his behavior seemed so beyond the pale that someone must’ve stepped in to stop it.

Except, from the looks of it, Ye deactivated his account out of his own volition,...

While Ty did not address West directly, or mention his name, he wrote, “I do not condone Any form of hate speech towards Anybody.”

Ty and West have collaborated frequently over the years and formed the duo, ¥$, in 2023 — a point at which West’s history of antisemitism and making other offensive remarks was well known and documented. In February 2024, ¥$ released their debut album — and...

Image
Kanye West addressed speculation about his relationship with wife Bianca Censori and made more hateful statements in a series of social media posts on Friday morning (February 7).

After the rapper’s wife walked the red carpet in a totally sheer, revealing dress at the 2025 Grammys over the weekend, a lip reader alleged that Kanye encouraged her to start “making a scene.”

This led to some speculation that he was controlling his wife’s behavior. He addressed those allegations, saying that he did “have dominion over” Bianca in posts on X (formerly Twitter).

Kanye proceeded to blast out a flurry of antisemitic posts on the platform. He also revealed the one rapper who has stood by his side through all of his controversies.

Keep reading to find out more…

“I Have Dominion Over My Wife This Aint No Woke As Feminist S-it,” Kanye wrote in one post that he shared on Friday morning.

Jimmy Kimmel Says If Will Smith Slapped ‘Rodent’ Kanye West at the Grammys ‘All Would Be Forgiven,’ Calls Out Bianca Censori’s Naked Red Carpet Look
Image
Jimmy Kimmel said during his Feb. 3 monologue on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that Will Smith should’ve slapped Kanye West on the Grammys red carpet. Smith made his first televised awards show appearance since the notorious Oscars slap at the Grammys, where he presented a musical tribute to the late Quincy Jones. West, meanwhile, did not attend the Grammys ceremony but did create shock and awe on the red carpet by having his wife, Bianca Censori, appear nude beside him.

“Another rodent came out of his hole to hit the red carpet at the Grammys last night — none other than Kanye West, who showed up to take photos,” Kimmel said. “He showed up for the red carpet only with his wife, who caused quite a stir. She was wearing … nothing,”

Kimmel said that he would’ve probably devoted his entire monologue to West’s controversial Grammys red carpet appearance had it...

Don Lemon Fires Back at Kanye West Over Grammys Red Carpet Report: ‘Get Your S— Straight … That Maga Hat Must Be Too Tight on Your Head’
Image
Don Lemon fired back at Kanye West after the controversial rapper called the former CNN host a “goofball” and claimed Lemon spread an incorrect rumor that West and his wife, Bianca Censori, were kicked out of the Grammys. Censori shocked the red carpet by wearing a nude outfit. The couple then left the event without ever going inside the Crypto.com Arena.

Despite online rumors that West had been booted from Grammys, sources close to the Grammys told Variety at the time that such claims were “not true” and that West simply “walked the carpet, got in his car and left.” West targeted Lemon in a since-deleted Instagram post as the source of the rumors, although Lemon denied it in a video posted to his YouTube page.

“First of all, Kanye, Yee, Ye, whatever your name is — I did not start a rumor about you being kicked out of the Grammys,...

Don Lemon and Kanye West Face Off on Social Media After Controversial Grammys Appearance
Image
Don Lemon and Kanye West exchanged public messages on social media Monday following Lemon’s attempted interview with the rapper as he arrived to the Grammy Awards red carpet.

The feud began with a since-deleted post from West, who now goes by Ye, saying that Lemon — whom he called a “goofball” — started a rumor that Ye and his wife, Bianca Censori, were kicked out of the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

Ye and Censori’s arrival made waves when Censori took off her black coat to reveal a completely sheer dress without underwear. Rumors later swirled online that the couple had been escorted out because they were not invited, though this proved untrue.

Lemon responded to West’s post with a video. “First of all, Kanye, Yee, Ye, whatever your name is — I did not start a rumor about you being kicked out of the Grammys,” he said. “I actually corrected it.

Kanye West and Bianca Censori Shock Grammys With Her Naked Red Carpet Look
Image
The 2025 Grammys red carpet had only officially been open for roughly 20 minutes, but Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, created the inappropriate moment viewers will be discussing long after the ceremony has ended.

When the pair first stepped onto the carpet, Censori was wrapped in a high-necked fur coat (the jury is still out on real vs. faux) that she clutched together in front. With extra security measures immediately put in place and a request for photographers to step back 6 inches, per The Hollywood Reporter‘s red carpet reporting, Censori dropped her coat to reveal that she was wearing an exceedingly sheer minidress in an open, nude-toned mesh and seemingly no underwear underneath. The photogs already had fallen silent when the pair arrived, which made it all the easier to hear one woman photographer remark, “What a reveal.”

West already was drawing blowback for a messages he posted on X on Saturday,...

Both P. Diddy and Kanye West have long been associated with each other, initially as friends and later for their feud over the latter’s controversial White Lives Matter T-shirts. And it appears that the rapper had started keeping his distance from the disgraced music mogul after their friendship turned sour, likely after experiencing the consequences of Diddy’s influence in his life.
