Not only did “A Star Is Born” open to a healthy $42.6 million at the box-office this past weekend. But the fourth version of the musical showbiz staple originally done in 1937 has allowed first-time director and leading man Bradley Cooper to score his first ranking on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“Shallow,” the film’s signature song performed by both Cooper and his co-star Lady Gaga, currently sits at No. 28 after being boosted by 8.3 million U.S. streams and 58,000 downloads sold during the week ending on Oct. 4, as confirmed by Nielsen Music. It ranks No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart. While Gaga is accustomed to such heights – it is her sixth time that she has topped that chart and is her 21st top-40 hit – Cooper is reveling in a whole new sideline as a vocalist-musician in the guise of his country singer character Jackson Maine.
