Vernardo Stroud, a versatile actor and producer, was born in 1989 in Munich, Germany, to American parents. As the youngest of four siblings, he experienced a nomadic childhood due to his father's service in the United States Military, eventually settling in Harlem, New York, where his passion for the arts began to bloom.
During his middle school years, Vernardo explored various art forms until he discovered his musical talent under the guidance of his music teacher, Thaddeus Expose, who introduced him to the trumpet. His dedication to perfecting his craft led to countless hours of practice, refining his skills in scales, pitches, and studying trumpet legends. Throughout middle school, Vernardo's performances on the trumpet earned him recognition and school awards.
Vernardo's journey took an unexpected turn when, following his graduation, he faced rejection from several prestigious New York art schools, including the Laguardia High School of Music & Art & Performing Arts.
In 2010, Vernardo made his acting debut as "Player on bus" in the film Bokutachi no pureibôru (2010), directed by Junichi Mimura. His journey continued as he enrolled in a Penn State-affiliated college for Architecture, but he took a transformative summer break to explore different artistic avenues. Among the highlights of his early career was his involvement in Step Up 3D (2010), directed by Jon M. Chu. Vernardo's theater debut took place on the stage of Al Martin's Broadway Comedy Club, where he portrayed the African prince Mandingo Jr. in the stage play "The Gloria Glitter Show," written and directed by the talented Beverly Bonner.
Inspired by his experience in live theater and encouraged by the positive audience reactions, Vernardo relocated to Los Angeles, California, after completing his college degree.
