- From 2000 to 2007 Shane was the CEO of an indie record label named Nexus Records. At it's highest point the label had a roster of over a dozen people, including artists, support, and administrative staff. The label was headquartered in downtown Detroit's Ford Building, along with another satellite office in northwest Detroit. The label produced 4 CD's and the artists had logged nearly 400 live performances during the label's existence, with Shane being an onstage hype-man at virtually all of them. In 2004, Nexus Records had won the "Best Live Performance" category at the Detroit Hip-Hop Awards.
- In 2006, while living in Ann Arbor at the time, Shane began developing an internet based entertainment directory that targeted wireless mobile devices and early smartphones (pre- iPhone era). Although Shane funded the development of the project himself by hiring 2 PhD Computer Science candidate students, from the nearby University of Michigan, the business never launched. Incidentally, three years later in 2009, Shane would see an almost identical platform being launched by another very large technology company.
- While working in the advertising and marketing field for AT&T, Shane received company-wide recognition several times, for exceeding his sales objectives.
- In his early teens, once while practicing with his nunchakus, Shane hit himself in the back of the head while going full speed with the martial arts weapon. The damage from this hit has left a permanent red/soft spot in the crown of Shane's head.
