‘Women’s Sports Now’ Scores as Go-To Show for Everything in Female Athletics: ‘It’s Already Here — Everyone Needs to Catch Up’
Image
Take your smartest friends and put them on a set to talk women’s sports. That simple formula makes Roku’s “Women’s Sports Now” work.

The format is not groundbreaking, but the subject matter is. Emmy Award-winning sports reporter Suzy Shuster, former WNBA star and current co-owner of the Atlanta Dream Renee Montgomery, comedian and sports superfan Sarah Tiana and NFL Network journalist Colleen Wolfe lead the discussions on the latest news from the world of women’s sports, featuring interviews with female athletes — both high-profile stars and those who don’t often get the spotlight.

At a recent taping at AT&T’s El Segundo studios, the Toyota Feature segment was devoted to bass fishing champion Kristine Fischer, while the Miller Lite Spotlight focused on pro surfer, marine ecologist and engineer Maluhia Kinimaka; Montgomery excused herself for an insightful segment about the WNBA’s ongoing collective bargaining agreement talks.

Roku partnered with Hello Sunshine,...

‘Summer House’ Star West Wilson Makes ‘Good Morning Football’ Debut As Guest Co-Host
Image
West Wilson, star of Bravo’s Summer House, made his Good Morning Football debut as a guest co-host.

The reality TV personality had been invited as a guest on the NFL Network earlier in the season, but this time he co-hosted for the whole show.

Wilson joined Gmfb from the New York Studio alongside Kyle Brandt, with Colleen Wolfe and Michael Brockers from the home studio in Los Angeles.

Aside from starring on the Bravo reality series, Wilson works as a social and editorial producer at Complex. Wilson also played college football at Montana State between 2014 and 2017.

On the show, Wilson gave his hot takes on the latest NFL news, including Brock Purdy’s contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers and why he was hyped for the 2025 NFL Schedule release.

“I love a schedule release because you can finally plan your fall,” Wilson said. “You gotta get the boys...

Akbar Gbajabiamila Not Returning To ‘Good Morning Football’ After 1 Season
Image
Akbar Gbajabiamila will not be returning to Good Morning Football after one season, Deadline has learned.

The former football player and talk show host had been missing from the NFL Network morning sports show, with his last appearance being on February 14.

On his last show, the co-hosts, which included Jamie Erdahl, Kyle Brandt, and Peter Schrager, talked about their vacation plans as the NFL season ended and the show went dark for a week.

“This was my first season, and it was such a cool experience to be able to go through this entire process and now to get to this point and get the week off — I’m going to Florida too with [Schrager],” Gbajabiamila said in February. “But I’m only going to be there for a couple of days, and I’m going to hop over to the Bahamas. But, it’s been real.”

When the show returned...

‘Good Morning Football’: Why Host Jamie Erdahl Was Missing From NFL Network Show
Image
Good Morning Football viewers are used to waking up and being greeted by Jamie Erdahl’s friendly face to talk some football.

However, Erdahl was absent from the broadcast on Wednesday, October 2, and Sara Walsh stepped in as the lead host for the NFL Network show.

Erdahl was missing because she was en route to London to prepare to cover the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings’ encounter.

Michael Robinson joined Walsh in Gmfb‘s Los Angeles studio, who continues subbing for Akbar Gbajabiamila, who has been out filming the new season of American Ninja Warrior. Kyle Brandt and Ian Rapoport were live from the NY studio.

NFL Has Plans to Expand ‘Good Morning Football’
Image
“Good Morning Football” is going for extra yards.

The NFL, which has aired the A.M. program since 2016 on its own NFL Network, plans to create a new two-hour “extension series” that will be carried by multiple partners in syndication. Sony Pictures Television will distribute the program, which will have a new title. Meanwhile, the original “Good Morning Football” will go on hiatus for the summer starting March 29 and will relaunch by preseason.

“Good Morning Football” was the first New York based program to run on NFL Network and replaced the Los Angeles studio program “NFL Am.” The current program will soon originate from a new complex in Inglewood, Calif., where the league will have access to five different soundstages and a podcast studio for its various media produtions.

Michael Davies, the production impresario who has overseen a bevy of new formats including so-called “after-shows” for properties such as “The Walking Dead,...

Where Can You Watch “Good Morning Football?”
Image
Nothing beats waking up with a hot cup of coffee and your favorite television show! If you’re a Sunday football fan, you know the fear of waking up on Monday morning with no new games until the weekend.

However, you may not know about the show “Good Morning Football” which allows you to watch football highlights and news with your morning coffee, even on weekdays. Currently, you can stream “Good Morning Football” on NFL Network Live or on ESPN for full coverage of all things football.

About “Good Morning Football”

“Good Morning Football” is a live coverage morning program from the NFL Network, originally airing on August 1st, 2016. After little success with the “NFL HQ” and “NFL Am” morning show, the NFL Network created “Good Morning Football” to give sports fans a way to catch up on game highlights, recaps, and football news without watching the Sunday night games live.
