There’s a real emergency behind the scenes of NBC’s Chicago Fire. If the veteran show gets renewed for a fourteenth season (and it is likely it will), it won’t be with two of its fan-favorite actors.

Deadline was the first media outlet to announce that Daniel Kyri (Darren Ritter) and Jake Lockett (Sam Carver) will exit the series after season 13. The move could be part of an effort to cut costs and trim the budget. “As actor deals are getting renegotiated and renewal talks between NBC and producing studio Universal Television on the five Wolf Entertainment series for the network continue, there could be more exits across all five shows,” Deadline explained.

The 2025 Sarasota Film Festival has announced its winners, and one film in particular will draw attention for having screened to much acclaim in this bright red county, ultimately winning the top documentary prize: Kim A. Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is a strikingly original and taut thriller series with a jaw-dropping reveal waiting at the end. A light aircraft with nine passengers crashes in the Mexican jungle, and everyone survives.

But then, one after another, they begin to die in strange and violent ways.

If there’s one thing Apple TV+’s Mythic Quest loves, it’s a detour. This has been true since the very first season, which paused midway through for a one-off about two characters we hadn’t met before and haven’t seen since. It’s remained so through subsequent seasons that devoted entire episodes to detailing the backstories of members from the core ensemble, or catching up with a minor character we hadn’t seen in years.

Now it extends all the way to the series’ first spinoff, Side Quest. As the cute title might suggest, this is essentially a Mythic Quest that’s nothing but those standalone chapters — that steps well outside Mq HQ to explore the other corners of the show’s universe, one quirky tale at a time. But as it turns out, a detour’s only a detour when there’s a set path to be deviating from.

It feels like a lost art in 2025, but the spinoff of a comedy series remains a popular proposition for TV creatives. However, if your show is not directly tied to surprisingly big IPs, like Big Bang Theory or 9-1-1, TV executives seem less likely to buy the pitch. Side Quest comes from the writers of Mythic Quest, specifically Ashly Burch, John Howell Harris, and Katie McElhenney.

With Rob McElhenney returning briefly, the show hopes to expand the world created by Mythic Quest, instead focusing on the people at the edges of the series. In some moments, Side Quest recreates the brilliance the show has been known for with its tangent episodes. However, one cannot help but wonder if these episodes would have been stronger in the context of the existing show.

Side Quest – The Plots

Embracing an anthology style, Side Quest tells four stories in the world of Mythic Quest.

In all its ups and downs, Mythic Quest always stays true to its core conceit: a workplace comedy about a video game company, and all the interpersonal baggage that accompanies the creatives tasked with building said games. Side Quest, which Apple TV+ announced as its new spinoff, features a similar, if not identical premise, this time focusing on the plights of the lower-level and developmental employees.

Both the Mythic Quest season 4 finale and the Side Quest premiere will be streaming on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The new series serves as an expansion of the established universe, per a press release. It will focus on the lives of employees, players and fans who are impacted by the game in an anthology format. All four episodes will be released that day for a binge-watch!

As a member of Team Bonds, coached by San Francisco Giants legend Barry Bonds and rapper 2 Chainz, Flynn helped lead his team to a 66-55 win over Team Rice, coached by San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice and social media star Khaby Lame. Flynn was an absolute monster on the court finishing with a game-high 22 points, while also racking up eight rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

After winning the Mvp honor, Flynn gave all the glory to his teammates and thanked them for their support of him heading into and during the game.

Today, premium network MGM+ released a first-look teaser for Godfather of Harlem Season 4, coming to the linear and streaming service on April 13.

From Chris Brancato, creator of Narcos and Hotel Cocaine, the fourth season stars Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker as Bumpy Johnson, alongside Ilfenesh Hadera, Lucy Fry, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Erik Laray Harvey, Michael Raymond James, Elvis Nolasco and Erik Palladino.

The one-minute and 48-second clip begins with Rob McElhenney's Ian visiting Charlotte Nicdao's Poppy in the middle of the night to tell her about a crazy dream he had. The trailer then cuts to David Hornsby's David telling the staff at the titular gaming studio about everything they have accomplished over the years.
