Vidaamuyarchi marks Ajith Kumar’s 62nd film, though it wasn’t originally planned as such. Initially, a project with director Vignesh Shivan was supposed to be his 62nd film, but after it didn’t materialize, Vidaamuyarchi was developed with a new script. The film was officially announced in May 2023.

A big-budget venture, Vidaamuyarchi was primarily shot in Azerbaijan, with some portions filmed in Thailand. The story is inspired by the 1997 Hollywood film Breakdown.

Ajith Kumar’s new action thriller, Vidaamuyarchi, has made a notable comeback at the box office on its third day. As reported by Sacnilk, the film raked in around ₹14.62 crore on Saturday, which is a 42.63% increase compared to its Friday earnings.

This surge in revenue can be linked to the positive buzz from viewers and the strong weekend turnout. Over four days, Vidaamuyarchi has accumulated a total of ₹51.36 crore.

It’s important to mention that Vidaamuyarchi is up against tough competition from Naga Chaitanya’s romantic film, Thandel, which has been doing quite well. Nevertheless, Vidaamuyarchi has managed to maintain its position and show a promising upward trajectory.

Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi is a gripping action thriller that tells the story of Arjun (played by Ajith Kumar), who goes on a perilous mission to save his wife, Kayal (Trisha Krishnan), from a dangerous gang in Azerbaijan.

As per Venky Box Office, Vidaamuyarchi concluded its pre-sales of US premieres at $205K. It witnessed around 22% growth in the last 24 hours. Around 9K tickets have been sold from 553 shows across 235 locations in the region.

Talking about all of North America, the advance booking sales have surged to $300K. Ajith Kumar is expected to garner $400K from premieres alone and mark his biggest premiere day in history.
