Austin Haynes is a British actor, born in Leeds.
Known for his natural charisma and emotional depth, Haynes has quickly become one of the UK's most promising young talents. Since landing his first cast TV role aged seven, in popular BBC1 drama 'The A Word', Austin has worked consistently in film and television.
Austin is a keen guitarist and featured in the infamous Co-Op Christmas Commercial 'Round Are Way', busking with his younger brother, Rocco. The Commercial went on to win several awards including 'Best Casting Featuring Children' at the Casting Directors Association Awards in 2021 at BAFTA.
Austin's first pivotal leading role was released in the summer of 2022, for StudioCanal's 'The Railway Children Return' opposite Jenny Agutter, Sheridan Smith and Sir Tom Courtenay. Austin plays Thomas, the grandson of Jenny Agutter's character, in the family adventure about a group of children evacuated to the Yorkshire countryside in the Second World War. His performance was praised for its warmth and maturity, establishing him as a leading young actor.
A natural flair for accents from a young age, Austin has been cast in many roles using an alternative to his natural Yorkshire accent, including American, London, Newcastle and Liverpool.
