According to 123 Telugu, the director has already met with the superstar, and Rajinikanth was reportedly impressed by the story narration. The script is currently in its final stages.

If reports are to be believed, the project is expected to be bankrolled by minister and actor Udhayanidhi Stalin under the Red Giant Movies banner. However, nothing has been made official yet. Even if everything goes as planned, Rajinikanth will reportedly join the project only after Jailer 2.

Here too, Ajith’s character is out to loot a bank; he’s wearing white but his character is all grey. Not that we know much about this character. Even his name is a mystery. Ajith is a riot as a nameless gangster who uses Michael Jackson’s voice to talk to the police and moonwalks on the bank floor ever so coolly. That’s star power for you. He doesn’t speak much but when he does, it’s witty one-liners that land well.

This upcoming week is celebrated as the Pongal and Sankranti harvest festivals in many parts of India.

Vijay stars in Vamshi Paidipally’s Tamil-language action family drama “Varisu,” due a Jan. 11 release. Its Telugu-language dubbed version “Varasudu” will release Jan. 14 in India. The heavyweight cast also includes Rashmika Mandanna, R. Sarathkumar, Prabhu and Prakash Raj.
